    Damn! I'm glad my record is intact! Heep was one of the loudest live concert bands of the day. A wall of sound. Try Easy Livin, The Wizard. I'll be back to keep my record going

    For me Uriah Heep is essential band like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Jethro Tull in the way of hard & progressive rock. I suggest you Lady in Black and The Park frome the Salisbury album.

    Their album Look at Yourself was the first album I ever bought with my own money when I was 14. That was 1974! Loved them ever since!

    Great selection for a start into Uriah Heap... "Lady in Black" is another great selection from them... Ken Hensley (Uriah Heap band member) does a great remake of it

    I'm 62 yes. Old....to hear this live was just like you can't even image.....we saw 3 bands on floor seat for 10.00.....one as good as the next......it was just the best....so happy you are show casing....and enlightening a younger generation..... WELL TO CHURCH OF ROCK and ROLl

    Great bands - Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath. But where Heep left the others for dead was in the vocal harmonies - all the guys could sing. They were a totally unique band. Even though they had some of the heavy rock & blues sound - they also had melody!!

    Love, love the Heap, My dad got us kids into them and took me, mum, brother in 75 to see them live. First band I ever saw, they were amazing, SOOOO glad you dig them too. Listen to more and I will subscribe, promise. x

    Saw this performed in Phoenix in 70 and that Hammond B3 organ brought the house down man. They don't refer to this as classic rock for a reason. Thanks for the play man.

    I'm getting older and I forget some stuff that I used to listen to but this is one I do remember. It's right on up there in my teenage memories along with Mott the Hoople's All the Way to Memphis. I don't remember any of the other songs from the albums. The phrase "I done the rancher's daughter" was what was stuck in my memories.

    Great song by a great band! I grew up listening to them and this was one of the songs we'd play as we were cruisin boozin and tokin.....still listen to it today in my retired life! They have a great fast paced, in your face 2 minute 40 sec rocker called Easy Livin'.....give that one a listen, you will love it!

    The drummer, Lee Kerslake wrote the Diary of a madman album for Ozzy along with Bob Daisley who played Bass for Heep. I have a great memory of me, Mick, Lee, and Bob cruising down I-10 in my '79 T-Bird with the tops in the trunk pushing 100mph.

    Glad you liked this. I'm 57, been a fan of Heep for decades. They have a wealth of material, they're still putting out good stuff with only one original member - pretty amazing since they've been around since 1970 ish.
    Glad I tumbled on to your slice of the 'Tube as well. Keep exploring.

    Blues rock is my favorite. You should try the band Free (if you have not already). Free is Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke's band before they were in Bad Company.

    The best era was w the original singer, David Byron. And especially w their 2nd bassist Gary Thain. 1973's Uriah Heep Live is great!

    Uriah Heep suggestions: Gypsy, Bird of Prey, Lady in Black, Look at Yourself, Easy Livin' and The Wizard just to get started. Classic era Uriah Heep were terrific, they had singer and personnel changes over the decades and the current lineup is still awesome, but stay with early Heep for now, as there is five decades of Uriah Heep music.

    Uriah heep is apart of what I like to say..part of the big five. Early 70's. Led zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep purple, YES, and Uriah Heep. All created the progressive, hard rock sound.

    "July Morning" is the song that turned me on to this band 30 years ago, and it was old then. It is still my favorite. It will blow you away! You are correct that this band trades blows with any great band of its time. Thank you for re exposing these great old bands to the new crowds.

    What a lot of people don't realize is that Uriah Heep is still recording an still touring after 50 years as a band. I consider their 2018 album to be one of their all time best. And if you are looking for some relatively recent songs to review, might I suggest Love in Silence (Seal of Light album) or Corridors of Madness (Celebrations album). Enjoy!

    The Drummer for this band was Ozzy Osbourne’s Drummer on BOTH Albums The Blizzard Of Oz and Diary Of A Madman. The Drummer is the Late Lee Kerslake.

    Yep the late 60s to 82 is a span that had so many artist that could come up with so much with country music included and I will say that because of the Outlaw Era with Willie and Waylon and funk soul blues Parliament /Funkadelic and new wave and rock experimentation that you could go on a listening binge for a life time of awesome stuff but there was that sweet spot as you say from 68 to 73 that does stand alone ..

    Very'eavy very'umble, Salisbury, Look at yourself, Demons and Wizards, Sweet Freedom, The Magician's Birthday, Wonderworld, Return To Fantasy, High and Mighty, are all very good Uriah Heep albums from the years 1970 - 1976. The lineup with David Byron on lead vocals was the best.

    I lived, musically, on their third album, "Look at Yourself", for a number of years. I thought it was the greatest. I still think it is one of the greatest. Check out "Tears in my Eyes" kicking off the B side. Actually, just listen to the entire album. My favorite "Drummer" album. Ian Clarke was a monster
