Great Video. The dashboard is probably the most dreaded part of a car to work on....One mistake and you can either cause a major issue or burn the place down.

Lol.. so true. Don't install fear into me on this project.. lol. So far it has come out great. It had been something I've been dreading for sure.

I'm still in the process of putting my dash back together as I had two on hand and I wanted to install a nice one back in the car. I found a guy in Eugene Or, who recovered my dash and did some very nice stitching on it. I could send you a photo if you want. So now the wiring harness is back on and I have to finish the vacuum line replacement and the break booster install as I had to pull the break booster out to get the steering gear out. What a job from ......Well on a positive note I had the booster rebuilt as well. So beware of those black defrost vent nozzles... I think that they are made out of paper machete and they break like crazy! I had to two part epoxy them on. I have a complete blue dash just like yours I bought as a spare as I wanted the gauge cluster.

Hey Matt, thanks for the view of the underbelly of the dash, it will come handy down the road!
The speedometer roller could be redone with a vinyl decal, half white, half orange? Just a thought.

Morning Alvin. I hope it helps you when you get to this phase. I ended up painting it and it worked good.

Hello Matt. That is really a lot of work, but when you complete the cleanup and get it painted, she'll look great. That panel below the Thunderbird script comes off. Do you have the interior/body assembly manual? It will help you so much with the restoration. Your speedo drum looks nasty, maybe you could repaint it? Dad's lookin good! And a great helper.

Hey George. I do have the manual so that's good. I'm going to need it. So far everything is coming out good on the assembly. Videos to come. It has been great to have my dad out to help once a week. He really enjoys it. Good to hear from you George.
