    Way more pressure on arsenal than spurs although their ability currently to cope with pressure is better than ours. Worried we might go into our shell a bit but a result would be massive for the "story" of our season. Spurs Chelsea 2016 potentially on the cards

    I think it's time we show some courage about the first 11 lineup. I mean, what do we have to lose? If Spurs don't beat Arsenal on Sunday, the 4th spot is 90% gone. I wouldn't necessarily play Van de Ven as a left back because it's not his natural position. We want to use the players at their highest strengths. So then we should have a 3 2 4 1 system with a 3 defenders line. From right to left, Dragusin Romero Van de Ven. Then Bissouma Sarr\Hojbjerg. Then from right to left we would have Johnson Maddison Bentancur Son and as a center forward Richarlison/Werner, depending if Richarlison will be fit for Sunday. We could still play a high pressing line keeping the 3 defenders a bit to the back. I really think this 3 2 4 1 system could work, of course if the team will motivate and play at it's highest quality and potential. Good luck on Sunday !

      I think we would need Kulusevski on the left and Son up top. With Johnson on the right. We can’t be weak defensively on the wings but I do think we need to force Arsenal wide and leave them only able to cross the ball. They don’t have a true aerial strong striker and so that can nullify them to an extent. And then we have to be at it for corners! That’s one of the things that concerns me most, our set piece defending.

    • @eldante4139
      @eldante4139 Před měsícem

      @@mikey16560 I think it’s extremely naive not to make plans to cover opposition play. Imagine if we knew that if we stopped getting the ball to a team’s left winger then that’s it, they have no other plan. Then to not do that and go instead left that winger open and receiving passes is like leaving the car door open and key in the ignition when you go to buy food in shop in a busy area. Maybe you can be ok, but it’s a risk that doesn’t need to be taken. Let them worry about our attack and how we can hurt them but we have to cover against the opponent too.

    • @mikey16560
      @mikey16560 Před měsícem

      Obviously they must have a plan how to stop the opposition , but it just looks like they spend more time on attacking when it works. I ain't complaining after the dross we had with last 3 managers

    Hi Alasdair and Rob, I’ve been following Spurs for about 10years and live in the USA. In sports like the NFL, NBA, and MLB, free agents are celebrated and it’s not uncommon for players to purposely become free agents. Fans of these league know when there teams sign a free agent that it’s not really free, but no assets where given up (like draft picks or players in a trade/swap). Any thoughts on why free agency is not more common and sought after by players in European soccer (football) or why it’s not celebrated among pundits and media? Thanks!

    I am not sure what more motivation is required for Spurs to turn up on Sunday.
    Nail in coffin of hated rival’s title challenge ✅
    Written off by most pundits, other clubs fans and even some supporters and starting as underdogs ✅
    Players wanting to repay Managers continued faith and adherence to system ✅
    Home game with full house and passion plus from the crowd creating electric atmosphere ✅
    Some of our players have lost their strut recently and it has reflected on field.
    A bit of chicken and the egg maybe in as to why that is but it’s the mental side of the game that can often decide results.
    Maddison is an example of this. In my opinion his body language has lost its confidence (almost arrogance) that was apparent earlier in the season . Did he recover completely or is he carrying a niggle?
    Nothing wrong with arrogance and confidence that’s what you want from your creative players.
    Not sure why but I feel more confident playing one of the top three than mid table clubs so am quietly confident of an impressive bounce back from recent efforts.

    The key battle is the mentality of the midfield and the confidence of the crowd.
    Objectively during our great start we were consistently playing out from the back, the crowd were supportive and the confidence grew.
    We have the same players but our 12th man atmosphere has soured. Ange ball works because the players instinctively know their positions and where others are running. We have not had a settled team since the Chelsea game.
    Kulu-Richi-Son up front for me. Don’t care and not worried about Emerson and Davies starting but I’ll be at the game and I am worried about the performance from the stands.
    4-1 COYS!

    For me the combined 11 is the Arsenal team with Son up top, Udogie left back and Vicario in net. The only way we get in is in Arsenal weaker positions as they've been unreal overall.
    Other shouts would be Porro and Sarr, but their Arsenal counterparts have just been better. Maddison would have made it based on the first half of the season but has been poor or injured for the majority so doesn't make it.

    Good afternoon gents. It's a major setback to lose Destiny for the NLD! Especially considering that we don't have a first pick sub due to injury to Manor Sol We have cover but are they up to task playing out of their position against Sako level of play? If we get it wrong it could cost us heavily! Despite playing at home we have to play at our best to pull off what is within our means especially with Richie back at centre forward Sonny left and Maddison behind the front line doing what he does best. I think Hojberg should be with Rodrigo in midfield. We haven't been given much chance by our own fans! I think we can play well enough to win even not firing on all cylinders! 2-1 win but it'll be a close game
