    This is my first time being on CPAP & I have this mask & been using it now for less than a week. IMO it’s incredibly comfortable. I have noticed a slight pressure drop when laying on my side (I’m mainly a side sleeper) & it gets pinched against the pillow and my head. Not sure if it’s enough droppage to make a difference. But I just watched another CZcams video that shows this mask does indeed drop a little in air pressure when on your side. So far so good for me I’m getting good sleep and my sleep reports are good the next day. Will be paying attention I see if there’s an increase in API

    Thanks for the vid showing more about this mask. Recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and this looked like a great choice. I wanted a full face mask but felt I'd have trouble with the hose directly hanging off the face. My CPAP setup is being shipped through UPS; so I'm excited knowing- that I may finally experience my first restful sleep in a decade.

      How’s it work out? I got my machine last week. I officially gave up on it after last night because I haven’t slept for more than an hour since I’ve got it and tried using it every night. I tried this face mask on the video, a nasal pillow and a nasal cushion, I can’t sleep with any of it.

    Been using this same mask and ResMed machine for over 3 weeks. Has been a life-saver...Super easy to put on and adjust for correct seal. I quickly assemble tubing, mask, Velcro for a comfortable fit, and happy face seal, first try. A few times I got the sad face, accompanied by resistance when exhaling. This has been corrected easily enough with quick strap adjustment, reposition mask, etc. However, I haven’t noticed any difference in mask position, leaks or fit that could be causing the warning. Last night, no amount of adjustment would correct the warning read out. Since I’ve not seen any difference in bad seal vs good seal other than warning light and moderate exhale resistance, I was unable to correct and eventually gave up, hoping seal would just correct as it has once or twice. Woke up several times noticing bad seal warning stayed on all night. What might cause this change? Hopefully don’t need a new mask; I wash the mask, tube and reservoir in dish washing liquid daily, vinegar/water every 3-4 days. No sign of wear to soft material so far. Thanks.

    The hose attachment "quick disconnect" is not the same as the Amara View. The hose pulls off from the quick disconnect - requires a firm pull to unsnap. The Amara View- has a better disconnect fitting. Two simple clips. They should reconfigure the disconnect.

    I am a new cpap user in my first week. The DreamWear Full face mask is the one that they gave me. After the first two horrible nights, I realized that I had pulled it too tight. I have been trying to loosen it up and for the first 30 minutes a night it is fine . . . until I start rolling. Once I go to my side it starts to leak. Last night I was adjusting it all night long. The worst part is the farting noise it makes as it leaks out the bottom; the sound is so loud that it wakes me up. I think what is happening is that at the lowest setting, the mask doesn't leak too bad, then once the pressure amps up, the seal breaks and the farting begins. The home health company told me to keep trying. I have a medium frame and a small mask. Do you have any suggestions?

    • @CPAPmyway
      @CPAPmyway  Před 5 lety +2

      I would at the very least try a different size. Usually on that mask a smaller size can do wonders. If you are interested in a different mask in the same style. You may want to consider the F30 from ResMed or the Amara View from Philips. Don't give up. Once you have the fit right you will be off to the races.

      I'm quite in the same situation (new CPAP user, started a few weeks ago, my first mask is the Dreamwear). I'm having the same problems. My first conclusion is related to my sleeping pattern: I'm a side sleeper 100% of the time, and this mask, due to its lateral tubes flowing air from the too of the head (love this position of the tube), seems to not be a good fit for side sleepers. I'm trying several adjustments, including testing different pillows, but its not improving my experience. I'll give a try a few more days, but I already initiated to know more about other make like Amara.

    I like the mask but after two nights I had to resort to putting on a disposable mask under the device (I cut out a circle so the mouth and nostril area is open) It was much more comfortable bc the top of the rubber mask, which goes up against the bottom of the nose, caused a blister after two nights and my face was so chafed I felt like I had been skiing for hours w/o a mask on. Wearing the disposable mask underneath eliminated both problems and it was infinitely more comfortable against my skin. (Aqua4 was really soothing and helped the dryness on my face and lips)

      There is a way to adjust the pressure yourself. On a Resmed cpap machine, pressing and holding 2 buttons on the front takes you into setup, where you can adjust pressure and other settings. Which is what I have done for a while. There are CZcams videos that demonstrate. Also, you could try cpaptalk.com website for advice. The people there are terrific and a big help. Good luck.

    This mask doesn't work for me. Not sure if the company test them in real people. The air comes from the head down passing next to your ears, so you hear the air noise all night long. Also the piece on top of your head puts pressure on your scalp and it hurts after 2 weeks of use. Good idea, just need to test it yourself.

Was fitted with a large it leaked like crazy no matter how I adjusted it. Going to use the medium tonight leaks less but is more painful. Could be my nose will get toughen up and I will be able to use to it. I hope. You should be able to breathe through your nose with the DreamWear Full. So the opening under your nose should be open. You may want to give the amara view a shot. Similar fit, but a much tackier silicon. Also a very different headgear that allows for a little more of a secure fit. Link to Amara View Below.

    've got the dream station with humidifier and heated tubing and have been using for months. The entire time I've been troubleshooting with my pulmonologist and the staff at the CPAP medical team here in Northern Colorado to no avail and I am in HELL. I have to the updated version of this mask because it sits just under my nostrils and covers my mouth as I have to sleep on my back and my mouth opens wide while I sleep. I have a tendency to get terrible migraines with regards to outside cranial pressure and smells. Anything at all squeezing my head triggers awful migraines, so this mask is a proper nightmare for me and I'm waking every morning with a banging migraine and am now missing work because of this crap. I also have migraines around smells. Respironics recommends cleaning the equipment with Ivory soap or baby shampoo, both of which have terrible smells that definitely contribute to my migraines. No matter how much I rinse, that horrid soapy smell is still there. Lastly, I have the humidifier set on the highest setting and have monkeyed with the heat setting. I have it at what would optimally be the best setting and still, I wake up constantly with a dry painful mouth and throat and I have to drink water many times throughout the night. Iv'e tried products that help keep oral tissues moist during just such therapies but NONE work. I am more tired now than I was before starting this nonsense. I've been sent home with a chin strap which actually makes the pain even worse and curiously my mouth is just as dry. I'm about to give up. Between the migraines, fatigue , and mouth pain -- I'm OVER it.
