For those that don’t know… Norm was a writer for Roseanne’s show. This sketch was just for them, not the audience. It was probably some stupid idea they had for a while with no appropriate outlet for it.

I'm so glad that Norm and Roseanne stayed friends for a long time.
Norm always liked real people, and Roseanne was probably the realest person he ever met, just open and honest about everything.

I know it's strange to say that I can relate to this sketch, but I actually knew a girl who had multiple personality disorder and I DID have to ask to talk to someone else whenever she was being someone who was a real drag to talk to. 100% accurate.
sorry to say but i think that girl was pretending, cuz in real DID (disassociative personality disorder) you cant just willingly switch between the personalities whenever you want
@@TheElusiveReality Actually that was my mistake...when I said I would ask to speak to someone else, I didn't mean she actually would comply...she never did. I would just have to wait patiently for her to switch back to someone I liked. I believe she was the real deal.
It’s not real- it’s therapy induced in people with personality disorders or neuroses.
I know professionals who have had patients claim to have it and they refused to play along with the multiples fantasy and what do you know? They stopped pretending to be other people.
Going along with this fantasy does no one any favours.

In this case, yes. He used the same sketch on his comedy album "Ridiculous" but with Molly Shannon as the lady and it's even better. They were able to get way more raunchy.
You don’t really have to assume, the script tells me everything I need to know. He was definitely the writer for this skit! It’s 100% his style.

I actually have alters in a system but I haven't gotten a diagnosis for a disorder with this condition yet. I have like 7+ alters but 7 including me are the main ones who front the most. I have 2 alters who are the most sexual.

This is kind of interesting in that Rosanne claims she has dissociative identity disorder, and at one point used it as an an excuse to why she was being transphobic. So it makes me wonder if she pitched this idea or if she knew at the time?
