There are people out there talking about "it's just preference" "lightskin look better"....etc
y'all, this is the problem, y'all don't even try to listen and try to understand what those black women are trying to tell you
    It's not only about dating...
Darker skin women are complaining about being bashed by BM
They complain about people assuming they are more aggressive or "ghetto" bc of their skin complexion.
They are complaining about having no support from black Black men or lightskin black women.
They are complaining about not being represented.
They complaining about people never listening to them bc of their skin complexion....
The saddest part is that they are being discriminated by their own people but they're allways the one who are gonna stand up for other people.
Colorism affect darkskin people on a daily basis...not only when it comes to dating

@Q Lock Can't you read or you're just stupid?? They are not complaining about BM not liking them They're complaining about BM degrating them and not supporting them as much as they support light skin or non-black women
I LITERALLY said it wasn't only about dating or liking someone.
Rejecting someone just bc of his/her skin tone is pretty weird
but since y'all keep tryna justify colorism...

@@hotrod6299 Dammmnnn colorism doesn't mean preferring lightskin women. Preference=When you like several things but you like one of these things better than the other ones. Colorists gonna like anybody from any race and any ethnicity butt black women. Colorism means discriminating dark skin people. Some BM date lightskin women and start bashing dark skin women to uplift the lightskin women and that's the problem. just watch the video they are not only talking abt dating stuff like DAMMMN. Dating a dark skin woman doesn't mean you're not a colorist my g, not degrating them and treating them the same way you would treat a lightskin woman makes you not a colorist.

@ oh wow. If you have a black daughter I suggest you CARE about what we are saying otherwise please do not produce any black girls. They need parents who CARE. Black girls experience a lot of negative representation. We are called angry, ghetto, unattractive, etc. Just so many negative stereotypes and constantly belittled by black men. Being black and then being a woman is the hardest thing because black is seen as least desirable and that's because racism and other factors and that seriously affects the self-esteem of these young black blacks. Hair is another issue. We are constantly told we have bad hair and some black girls grow up to hate their hair and cover it with weave and wigs.

Unfortunately what you said invalidated our culture, things we've done and created, and the fact that we are literally the backbone of America as well as other places. It doesn't take Einstein to know that pop culture and gen-z culture (including mannerisms, slang, etc.) is HEAVILY if not entirely influenced by black folk. Yes, all POC are minorities, but you saying because some of us grew up alongside each other means that it *implied* that y'all started things and most trends that are being used present day. And we do know who started it first because we're educated and learning. We're here to educate, too. Don''t squash and invalidate us in the process of questioning where trends originated, just look deeper into it. Lots of videos, documentaries, black libraries, textbooks, etc.
It's okay to not be black or to be a different race and even want to take part in what we've started and our culture. "Not at all, we're all minorities." is very invalidating and silencing. We're tired of being silenced.

    • @niranjandesai6766
      @niranjandesai6766 Před 3 lety +2

Not only you deal with racism.
Racism still exists because whites and blacks are of different origins but share same history in which whites had wronged the blacks.
I am not saying that all blacks are racist but as a white guy I have experienced that whatever we do, we are called racist just because we are whites. Where as a black person can never be racist since he is a black person!
That's wrong right? Not all blacks are like that but still there are some. Meanwhile a white guy can also be racist, which we have seen in murder of George Floyd. But not all whites are like that.
Racism cannot be removed because both parents of both races teach their children differently. My parents had strictly told me to be very polite and calm with blacks since they are aggressive and feel taunted easily. This is so wrong. When I was a kid I didn't even knew if they are aggressive. Such teaching sucks.
One of my black friend once told me that his parents strictly told him to behave in a particular nice manner with whites since whites have more legal power and he could get arrested/blamed for wrong crime. This kind of teaching is also incorrect.
I am sure this happens in most houses. A pure child who knows nothing about racism is forced to behave in such a way with opposite race creates a divide. It tells the child that he's different from other guy. This is how racism continues.
None of my black friends were ever racist or aggressive with me but we all do behave little different with each other than we do with our race.
People of same race find it easy to interact with same race but hard at same time with other races.
My conclusion is to end racism we should not blame any other race. Whatever our ancestors did cannot be forgiven. But we are not them. There's no use blaming us or hating our race.

For example, Ryan Destiny is mixed and ain't nobody see her as such. Let's not forget that being mixed does not equal being light.

As a blasian native woman I can't wait to see the cultural appropriation conversation between black and asian people it runs really deep. Black people appropriate asian culture and asian people appropriate black culture. This only happens sometimes and should not be representatives of said communities

@@milanihall9909 1. Don't refer to black people as "blacks" it's out dated and it sounds gross.
      2. Alot of black women participated in the chopsticks in the hair and wearing "asian costumes". It's not to say that black people are the only ones to appropriate asian culture because it's always been normalized to sexualize asian traditional clothing and alot of rappers sexualize asian women's bodies . It's also not to say all black people do this or that I don't generalize ANY group of people however I will call out my communities (I'm black, asian, and native) when I have/ do see things that need to be called out.
