- In response to BabeRuthless's phenomenal video about the Dead Pool, I fill in the missing blanks. Go check out her video then come back here. Between the two of us, we've got you filled in -- just like Shang Tsung had this arena filled runoff from his Flesh Pits experiments.
That stage fatality sound was such a long debate between me and my friends for years! I can now confidentally say we were all wrong 😅 This was a fantastic video by the way, would love to see more!
Thanks for making the vid that inspired this one! And honestly....who could have possibly guessed what this sound actually meant? Haha. Looking forward to more vids from you as well!
Right? It's been far too long!
@@tabmok99 Wasn't it weird that in Deception The Pit, The Dead Pool and Kuatan Palace lacked at least one passage for the kombatants to enter the arena? I mean, they wouldn't be safe and sound after getting pierced, dissolved or burned before the fight would actually begin. Not all of them can fly or teleport, LOL.
@@tabmok99The deadpool is from the Monty Python spin-off movie Yellowbeard. There the main villain also has a green acid pool and it's being used to a comedic effect. I wish I could find clips of it on the internet, but it has major similarities. And instead of the floating skelleton in the movie it's a gold cauldron I believe which floats on the acid. Anyway again sorry for not being able to provide proof
The Dead Pool is one of the most iconic stages in Mortal Kombat history next to Living Forest and The Pit
1:01 this reminds me of what happened with MKTrilogy. I feel like it gives it an extra spooky vibe intentional or not. I never noticed the orange-tint was Nintendo exclusive.
The vignettes in MK9 were awesome! The blurb in MKD about it being Shang’s favored form of punishment re-contextualizes the scene where he “accidentally” knocks the tarkatan into it
The Dead Pool is my favorite Mortal Kombat Stage of all Time
2:02 - You can definitely do that hook on the deadpool fatality now. It's in the Mortal Kombat Mugen.
As I just said over there, this has been a part of me since it appeared and I was really young. It inspired things that are still a part of me now. 💚
Great video about the Dead Pool! However, I thought for sure that you were going to mention the Hook Fatality being brought to actual life in Shaolin Monks. Liu Kang and Kung Lao could impale the undead on the hooks! Nevertheless, great video and thanks for the shout-out!I really appreciate it! 😎 Wish I could get that statue!
The legend returns
Having found out the dead pool is another Shang Tsung project, it makes you realize just how indispensable he is to the lore.
One of my favourite stages
Welcome back tabmok
The Mortal Kombat information I needed 🙏
One of my favorite stage in the game. I first saw it on mk9
No wonder the chains were a lil bonus used in Shaolin Monks! Genius!! Also, we can't forget Kitana's, and others, captor in the sprite animation, MK: Reconciliation, which is yet to air its finale.
I... never noticed the skeleton, nor Kahn, saying anything. And hey, don't forget to highlight the Dragon Jets too! Glad to have you back, tabmok!
Also, kudos to the Deadpool getup! ^^
i heard that sound back in that days like an "ohhwahh", like sumone who is getting drowned
@@alecloz Like Toasty...I didn't know it existed. 😔
Missed your videos bro, please we need more of these iconic MK stages videos, next the Living Forest and The Pit
Speaking of Deadpool, to quote Piccolo from DBZA (TFS), *"I think Marvel's Ryan Renyolds's gonna sue somebody."*
Welcome back :)
This is why I follow your content. Always delving behind those ideas!
Wearing Deadpool mask was a good idea 😂
I watched Enter the Dragon & we see Williams lowered into something, which I assume became the inspiration for The Dead Pool.
When I saw that in Enter the Dragon, all I could think was, "So, that's where the Mortal Kombat team came up with The Dead Pool."
In MK: Shaolin Monks, you actually could impale enemies on the chain hooks, I think by uppercutting them.
I'll have to double check.
Man, it's been a long time since I played MK: Shaolin Monks.
I've pretty much spent the last decade mostly going back to MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero every so often.
In the Super Nintendo version, if you look hard enough at the background in the center of the screen when the match starts, you'll see what looks like artwork or something.
If I think of it, I can take a photo of it & show it to you on Twitter.
I'll need to rewatch Enter the Dragon & look out for that scene!
Not acid, but there's also the scene in License to Kill where Felix is lowered into Shark water.
Great video of one of the greatest stages in MK history! I always learn something new with your videos, amigo. Keep up the great work! 👊🏼
Probably my favorite klassic stage in all of MK!
Don't ✍🏼 do ✍🏼 acid ✍🏼 got it!
Nice video! I'm subscribing with the bell on
Been subbed with the bell on for months! He has excellent kontent! :)
Great video, man! Fun fact: GameCube MAT2 slow downs a lot on Dead Pool for some reason and had missing shadows in all "Arcade Translations", including PSN, until MKAK.
You should definitely also do Pit Bottom and/or The Portal as well.
Hey tabmok! Have you found anything worth mentioning from the MK2 source code leak?
Yeah I plan on divulging some of what I learned soon! In the mean time, Drew from UMK3+ has been releasing tons of cool stuff on his livestreams!
Hi Tabmok. Nice video. I like to suggest Armory Stage for the next video, because the Reptile Fatality floor glitch in MK 2. Ah!... also: i remember that last Febraury you shared on Twitter a Reptile's Fatality in the original arcade. It's really possible something like that happens? At least, the 1% of probablities that MK1 Reptile's Fatality really happens? Thanks for yor awnswer. Take care!!!
Yeah that is a real thing that happens! It's very rare (I don't know the exact probability but it wouldn't surprise me)! The Armory might be a fun one.
Apparently they recorded the music at 48khz but CDs can only play at 44.1khz, so the music is playing roughly 10 percent slower than it should be.
That's an intriguing idea, so I looked into a bit further. Apparently the difference is one of quality, not speed. Also, the human ear cannot distinguish between 44khz and 48khz. 48khz is used by audio professionals so they can edit the master with less distortion, but 44khz is preferred for the final cut. It shouldn't lead to any slowdown whatsoever. I'm no audio engineer but this is what I've found.
We need MK12 gusta homelander omni man john wick lord zedd and ash William
To bad Marvel is own by Disney we'll never see a Marvel character ever in Mortal Kombat.
You should do a video about Raiden's hair next
😊😊😊😊
Everyone know if Elf on the shelf. But what about Deadpool in the deadpool? 🤣
why you covering your face?
Because it was the only way I could think to make a Deadpool joke
