Here, you're almost anticipating that trope, and you're drawn to her face, and it's totally unreadable. She could be angry, could be trying not to look at her crush across the cafeteria, could be mortally wounded. It's not steamy. It's almost confused.

Well, technically it was a race and rally winner, and in the original 'Italian Job' before it was ever about Mr Bean. So this scene is intended as a homage to that.

Not saying supremacy and ultimatum were bad, in fact they are amazing sequels to this awesome movie but I just miss the action from the first film. It wasn’t quickly edited with a lot of shaky cam, it was very smooth and easy to watch without giving me a headache and plus, this scene still kicks ass!
Most realistic chase scene with a mini. Those gear changes were about as smooth as chunky peanut butter, and the only reason it wasn’t smashed to bits was the extra bull bars on the front and back. It was small and could get over just about anything, but those sparks on the curb showed that on top of being low to the ground, the suspension probably wasn’t that great either. Mismatched front fender showed it wasn’t even kept in the best condition, makes sense considering it was living in Paris. The only thing that kept Bourne from being caught was the Mini’s go-kart like handling, and Bourne’s pure skill in something as twitchy as a FWD Compact at speed.
That left hand drift into the t section is so smooth that it's one of my favourite parts of the whole franchise & honestly made me want to own a Mini Cooper

I like how when a car crashes, there's not 5 random explosions happening for no reason. It's just cars hitting cars. Who ever knew that a film that feels more real holds up better and is more enjoyable. Huh.
This, and the Bond movie For Your Eyes Only where a cheap crappy 2CV beats a whole bunch of fast Peugeot's, are two best of the best movie car chases I've seen. Just love it when cheap slow cars beat the crap out of much faster ones. Intelligence/skills are more important than horsepower :)

For some reason, this reminds me "For your eyes only" chase... two underrated cars (Mini/2CV), two guys and a girl (Bourne/Marie, Bond/Melinda) and nothing but driving skills.
The German girl Marie was an excellent casting choice. It was very stupid in a movie and a franchise sense to have killed her off. It still pisses me off. And the same goes with Nicky.
Check it out. The BMW the police bike slides into and damages the rear door of, I reckon is the same BMW used later in the scene where another police bike almost runs into it. Right before Jason drives through the sheet of glass. Have a look at the number plate

So much happens in the first few moments that I feel go unnoticed. First thing he does is pull out a map (part of why he says they have a bump coming up and knew about it without seeing it). Then he waits for them to be far enough away from their vehicles to give him a head start.
I'm sure that this was the car chase that inspired the coffin car chase in 'Skins'. Both feature a red mini, which is driven down a flight of steps. Ironically, I first saw this chase at a 'What Hi-Fi show in the city of Bristol some years before 'Skins' was filmed.
i love this scene because Bourne knows that his mini will never out run the police cars but he can out maneuver them.

There's a reason why an 50 year old Mini can handle like a new Fiesta ST.
It's simple and very light. Even the non Cooper ones were a blast to drive.

the shaky camera worked well for the Supremacy in the car chase, as he was clearly drunk and drinking driving. it was a very messy car chase.

These old Minis were some of the fastest cars back in the day. They used to thrash the others cars in Rally as well.
