We Played Karting Superstars! An EXCLUSIVE First-Look

- Karting Superstars is the latest title from Original Fire Games, a family-oriented studio full of racing passion and knowledge.
Designed as an off-shoot to the team’s cutesy, top-down racing game Circuit Superstars, Karting Superstars sees players take the wheel of a racing kart, this time with the player front-and-centre of the action with a third-person perspective.
And we at Traxion.GG have managed to get a world-exclusive hands-on preview of Karting Superstars, with our very own John Munro enjoying some frenetic racing action on two tracks.
The question is, how does it compare to Circuit Superstars? Is it good enough to stand up on its own merit? To cut a long story short, the answers are ‘quite similar, but slightly different’, and a more conclusive ‘yes’.
Feeling like a purer Mario Kart, Karting Superstars is set to be an intriguingly fun title, and one definitely to keep an eye on in the near future. Let us know what you think about Original Fire Games’ efforts in the comments below.

You could've, you know, kept expanding your GeneRally clone rather than reuse assets for a much more limited lamer game

yeah absolutely, looks clean and not overloaded. a smooth experience. with all the cool little gimmics like the rubber on the racing line and hopefuly pitstops like in circuit superstars which look cool af. :D

The love of Motorsport and heritage really shows through here. Again Caro and team are showing signs of a gem here. Looks like close racing will be more accessible to more people here given the more traditional perspective.
Again, exciting motorsport competition in beautiful environment, just like in real motorsport.

Cool little details in this! The gradual wear on the track completely caught me off guard! Seeing those black marks get darker as the race progressed. If it plays well, I might have to look in to this haha

I absolutely love Circuit Superstars, so I’m really excited for this! The first time I played CS at my friends on his PC, I immediately went home that night and bought it on Xbox, and I still ply it regularly! Hopefully we can get a console release for this too because it will be an instant buy for me for sure!

Circuit superstars is the best top down racer. Period. Kart superstars will inevitably be the best karting racer imo. Great job, the game looks amazing.
If you want to make it a classic, you should invest in one thing: tracks, tracks, tracks. I know the team is not very big, CS was very fun, but I thought it lacked in tracks. I would assume you would have a lot more engagement if you create tracks constantly. Or open it up for mods, even if its just for that.
Great showcase, great banter and totally agree with you about a career mode, would be awesome! CSUP always felt like the POV of a racer from the the world of those doctor kid play rug with the city on them. I'd love a open world mode like a burnout paradise CSUP edition

This game is incredible. I bought it as soon as I saw this video. I hope it gets a ton of development and competitive online racing options. We've been waiting too long for a karting game to be released.

Looks really solid. I really tried to give Circuit Superstars a chance but just could not get used to the perspective. I might have to give this one a shot at some point but honestly I am not much a fan of carts. Would rather a DLC for the old one to get the change of perspective.
Still no visible deltas between the drivers, looks like a great game again but why miss out such a simple feature???
I hope the developers fix in circuit superstars and add in this new game penalty time not just for cut turns but too for strong contact.....we are tired for people wanna take you out of tracks and win the races like this. If them fix that circuit superstars and this game gonna be almost perfect. Motorsports games need rules

Should of been dlc for circuit superstars. If its going to be a a stand alone game NONE of the tracks from CS should be in the game. Even the new tracks have zero elevation so suspect these where ment for CS but got bundled into this game instead. Come on devs show some effort with a new game!
