    Great tip on the miter joint checking for light n between pieces. Plus the "L" board 2 put it up against while gluing.

      This is by far the best woodworking book I have ever read, *TopFineWoodworking. Com* . My woodworking teacher endorses it to all of his students. I am impressed how authors managed to write very detailed topics. I`m surprised by the material and didn`t have a tough time following the lessons..

    What is the oil wax finish you use? Is it a purchasable product? I could only find info mentioning linseed oil and then paste wax. Great video!

    We don't need all the tools. We can do this with plywood. Stain them in different colors to achieve the same look.

    Where do you youtube woodworkers get all the little gadgets you use? Like the wood scriber and router gauges? Other than Amazon? I have to drive quite a ways to find a woodshop to purchase things.

    Wow! I can't wait to spend a quarter million dollars on tools like you have done to make a $10 pencil holder for my wife for Christmas. Seriously nice shop and high end tools. This is wood working pornography. Pure fantasy unless you have buckets of cash.

      *TopFineWoodworking. Com* is a fantastic website about wood working. I took various classes as well as finished a one year diploma in carpentry at a local tech college; this is much better than any book I worked out of during those lessons. It explains everything regarding woodworking as well as complements it with helpful photos.?

      @@MWAWoodworks Succulents are desert plants, generally. Their roots spread out a lot horizontally. So you end up with a large pot holding one tiny succulent.

      @@MWAWoodworks "Thrive?" Sure, maybe not. But I have succulents in small wooden containers like this that have been healthy for 3 years now. My main problem is my own fault. It is very easy to overwater in a wooden container (if you don't use plastic insets), the wood holds moisture and will either rot itself or rot the roots. I have found the most success with making multiple drainage holes and having the bottom be raised up slightly (1/2") to allow air flow. I use small offcuts to glue on as feet, and I also just water less.

    The main issue I face, as a casual amateur with no big machines, is the making of boards. I have oak logs, fireplace size, but I am finding very quite hard to make simple planks/boards/lumber out of them. Frustrating...

      Same here. I have had luck with just sawing the logs with a Western style panel saw,and then take
      a #4 plane to get rid of saw marks,and square up my lumber. But it was very time consuming.
      Although I was pleased with the results; I was too tired to make anything...lol

      You don't need professional gear to do any of this. All my gear is hobby level garage shop gear not production shop level. Also it's far easier to do this with this gear than with hand tools 🤷‍♂️

    Great video except for one key point if you’re making tutorials or step by step videos going forward. If someone has all these tools you show being used, they likely don’t need a tutorial for a fairly simple build because they’ve been able to invest the couple thousand dollars, at least, into buying those tools.
