    Not ashamed to say I am addicted to your videos, how Sam is able to track your shots is amazing, half the time I'm not even able to see the fall of shot on the video ..

    I've always been partial to the 7mm Rem Mag. The first hunting rifle I ever bought was a M700 BDL. I handloaded 162 gr SSTs and took a lot of game with it. My brother and I used to shoot tie plates we collected alongside railroad tracks and hung out on a powerline maintenance road. But I don't think we ever took them out further than 500 yards. I always wondered what the ol 7mm could do if I spritzed it up with a longer faster twist barrel and more appropriate optics. The heavy Bergers are solid in pretty much any caliber, and it is always a pleasure watching you two work together. If your communication is half as good when you're not behind a rifle, you have a great relationship. I wish I could get my wife at shooting with me, but she just isn't interested. Anyways, great shooting, guys!

    Wow that setup really works well & the Mark and Sam team does too ! Your 1:9 twist has no problem stabilizing the 195gr Bergers & 2970fps is fast indeed! Cheers mate

    Almost makes me want to borrow my buddy's Dad's 7-Remington Magnum, but unfortunately he built it back in the 80s with a custom Leupold with spider silk cross hairs and tiny mill dots. He died last year and we got into his rifles. All the spider silk cross hairs had disintegrated over the years. It's a shame. Leupold is just across the river from us though, so we could easily go get any factory reticle put back in it. I don't recall what the scope is, but I think it's a 7-30x50 or something like that. He had a target on his wall in the basement that was 3 shots in a 2 inch circle at 870 yards, if I'm not mistaken. Unfortunately that room caught on fire and all the targets were lost, but almost all the rifles were saved. Mostly Remington 700s with Jewel triggers.

    With a 1:7.5 twist barrel you will be able to launch the 177gr Peregrine Glider bullet at +3100ft/sec. The G7 bc is north of .4
    Significantly less dope and wind required.

    So just a mere 450 feet of drop… 🤦‍♂️
    Edit: free fall for 6.4 seconds is about 650 feet. So it appears that the angle of the bullet when flying through the air with a nose up attitude creates about 200 feet of lift over the time of flight.

    • @markandsamafterwork
      @markandsamafterwork  Před měsícem +1

      Maybe a little lift, but there are other factors like inertia etc, beyond simple free fall... Cheers
