- Another box of orchids due to an orchid swap. In this video I will not only do an unbagging but will also repot and mount the gifted plants. I will also show how to deal with possible bugs (scale), my way with the bleach method, how to really clean up a Cattleya hybrid and mounting the Miltonia on tree fern (xaxim) pieces and adding some bromeliads to the mount for aesthetic reasons and to raise the humidity around the plants while they will be growing indoors in a home environment.
For further questions you can always leave me a comment (much appreciated) or contact me by email at marctoekieworld@yahoo.com.

I am setting up necessary situation for growing Barkeria scandens with my old friend Tillandsia Butzii! ...All intrigued and excited !
Nice vídeo, lovely plants ❤ Also, congratulations on the subscriber count 🎊🎉🌻🌷🪷
Thanks, and wait, a surprise is coming soon.
That was a long video! nice job, I hope they grow on well for you
Thanks. Yes it was long, not my initial intention but I thought it would be useful to show all the steps this time.
Lots of new orchids for you to grow! You did a nice job cleaning the cattleya! I really like the mounting of the Miltonia! It will look amazing when it blooms! How would you water that tree fern mount?
Thanks. The tree fern mount will be mostly watered by spraying and misting since it will hold water very well and can stay to wet for to long if not careful. The potting media will just be watered once or twice a week.
The Cattleya is used to be soaked and then a long period of being dry (I think you missed the buds 😁I think the Miltonia is a different plant then the cutting you got, Eelke send me a full grown plant
The Miltonia cutting is from the same original plant as you got your plant from according to Eelke. What do you mean by I missed the buds?
@@TOEKIEWORLDMarc The Cattleya has buds in the green sheaf and possibly in the black one as well. I didn't know they were the same plants that means the mother plant must enormous
@@YnseSchaap Might have forgotten to mention the Cattleya buds and both the green sheet en the brown one, which appears to possibly holds a spike but could be aborted are still there. There's a video at the Orchid Saga, where Eelke divides his miltonia in several big pieces. It is a very prolific grower it seems.
@@TOEKIEWORLDMarc I'm almost sure the black one has buds, you can feel something's inside and that wasn't there 😁
@@YnseSchaap indeed. Let's wait and see what might come. >I also could have set the plant back with the bug treatment but it seems to be a very sturdy one. Any idea of the flower color?
