Aw man, I keep forgetting Shredder’s Revenge is a thing until they unveil a new trailer and I get excited for it all over again. That and Cuphead are what I’m looking forward to most. BFBB Rehydrated I felt completely opposite from you in every way, but I’m cautiously optimistic for Cosmic Shake. I feel like Purple Lamp could do a good SpongeBob game if they’re given the proper time and budget. And how you talk about Dark Souls, kinda reminds me of Blast Corps. If you haven’t played that, I’d reccomend it for a serious challenge.
As small and minor as the game feels, TMNT Shredder’s Revenge is my most anticipated game of (HOPEFULLY) this year. When that trailer hit on March of last year, it got me excited, FEVERISHLY excited to the point where throughout the majority of last and this year, I went out of my way to emulate the older games on my new laptop. I downloaded and have SNES Turtles in Time inserted on my SNES classic and I downloaded Mame for the sole purpose of playing the two classic Konami arcade games. The game was pushed back to this year for release and I am so damn impatient for a release date, but at the same time, I know the developers and trying to make the game the absolute best it can be and the new character trailers are proof of this. What I’m saying is, I know it’ll be worth the wait and once said wait is over, the day it releases will be a day off for me from ANYTHING. God I can’t wait for this game. XD
I want to see Cosmic Shake gameplay so bad, the initial reveal trailer gives much better first impressions than Rehydrated's reveal, so I'm pretty hopeful. Also I can't believe Kirby's out in only a month, easily the game I'm most excited for.
Elden Ring is looking real good and I’m hoping it can pull off that rare sense of adventure few games can actually make me feel. Fromsoft games have always had awesome backdrops to their worlds but being able to see a cool landmark in the distance and travel to it is much more exciting to me than waiting to see whether or not the game will let me explore it. I also love the crazy ass enemy variety it seems to have, Breath of the Wild is one of my all-time favorites but damn the enemy variety in that game is rough. I’m really hoping Nintendo was holding back a ton of info on the sequel in last year’s trailer because it honestly looked more like an expansion pack than it did a four-years-in-the-making sequel to one of their most beloved games.
If there is one game I would love to see in 2022 is the Newgrounds Rumble sequel. The sprite artist who did most of the sprites wanted to work on a Newgrounds Rumble sequel 10 years ago and now he is hoping the demo will release in the summer. If the demo does well then the game can get funded and I hope it happens because Newgrounds Rumble was ahead of its time and for a free flash game it's impressive what the devs accomplished. Hoping the Newgrounds Rumble sequel happens.
@@y2commenter246 Newgrounds Rumble needs to come back. The roster is so good in a Newgrounds history standard and I hope they get the sequel demo released in the summer soon.
My most hyped game right now is definitely Kirby Went back and finally finished the Soul Melter EX in Star Allies. That game may be disappointing to many for being too safe but I see it as a Sonic Generations kinda game celebrating the past, and in Kirby's case, preparing for a new future. And seeing that Kirby is getting a Monster Hunter/Dark Souls style dodge definitely has me waiting on the edge of my seat since that opens up a whole slew of possibilities for interesting gameplay!
I think it'd be more accurate to say he's that one really annoying friend that you still sorta get along with anyways since you grew up knowing each other. So you just kinda got used to his annoying tendencies
I’ve been waiting for a new Mario strikers for *YEARS* and don’t get me wrong I really like the recent mario sports games but none of them where like either mario strikers game. They just have so much charm and character. So I’m just hoping that battle league keeps the little character animations that the series is known for.
The new "Baki The Grappler" game had an announcement on the Japan stream. I'm hyped for that, but I understand where your coming from Uncle Al. Nowadays we only get reboots and remakes of games that suck. Wish creators showed more love for games.
I've never once heard of Elden Ring that definitely sounds pretty interesting man! I'm looking forward to that game as well as Forgotten Land, Sonic Frontiers, and the new upcoming SpongeBob game for sure! Also, I didn't know you had a fiance man I thought you were still in college like me and still lived with your parents.
I'm a huge Cuphead geek, and us fans have been waiting for 4 years for this DLC, and the fact it comes out in T-minus 68 days, it feels like a dream. Can't wait for all of those bosses to absolutely whoop my ass.
I barely knew any of these games were about to drop this year; I've been basically living under a rock with my backlog of games. But hearing that Shredder's Revenge is done by the SOR4 team, Scott Pilgrim (never played it) and the Sonic Mania composer are all in on this project - YO, I'M FUCKING READY! More beat'em-ups for my library, babyyyyyy.
honestly im pumped for Kirby and the forgotten lands, Lego Star Wars the skywalker saga and Gran turismo 7, 2 game series i loved playing as a kiddo with my dad and uncle, my dad really enjoyed using the Nissan skyline GT-R in gran turismo 2 on PS1, and playing the OG lego star wars game on my uncle's XBOX, the one that was released before revenge of the sith hit the cinemas but ofc since travellers tales got the big budget by disney and lucasfilm for the new lego game, alot is going to happen im excited to see what we get for PSVR-2, Splatoon 3 and that recent retro studios metroid prime 4 tease
My most anticipated game this year is Bomb Rush Cyberfunk; while it's a spiritual successor to Jet Set Radio (And it has all the delicious cel-shaded y2k style presentation and Naganuma jams that that entails), the Tony Hawk-esque trick system looks to put it in a whole new league entirely.
The two games I'm looking forward to this year are The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe in early 2022 and Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse Remastered in late 2022. These two game franchises are my all time favorites, and I'm so happy they're being revived this decade.
Also, back to an old video, how long do you think it'll be till Nintendo, Playstation, and Xbox encloses and takes over all smaller companies like glaciers spreading across a landmass?
Spongebob games never really interested me, but the first episode I consider to be the funniest out of the whole show. It was also really cool to see the games you were excited about. I honestly I have not been looking to see what is new.
Personally, the only game I'm really excited for is Mario Strikers Battle League. I haven't really seen anything that looks all too interesting to me. Growing up playing Strikers on the GameCube was peak childhood for me. Just having the ability to beat my brothers so bad in the game until they cry or try to fight me was the best lol
I'm excited for portal 1 and 2 port for the switch. Hear me out, I grew up poor. I only had a 3ds and me rooting through the used section at game stop. And I always wanted to play portal. I found botw on the side of the street and I fell in love with it. So its botw 2 comes out. And it has stellar reviews ill probably buy it. I had the exact same thing happen to me with your Sonic Boom release. Except replace Assassin's Creed with Super Smash Bros WiiU and Sonic Boom with.... WWE 2K15....... I know how you feel
One thing that has me on the edge waiting is monster hunter rise sunbreak. Which I know is dlc , but with the new monsters ,armors and weapons coupled with a whole new story I'd say that counts. For me at least.
I was expecting this to just be you begging for a new DK game. @Coochie Kong i never suggested it wasn't? He asked for opinions in the comments so I'm displaying my public opinion in said comments... In fact it's almost like he invited an open discussion
I know you're still removed from this very plane of existence bc Elden Ring, but I'm ready to throttle someone like a squeaky chicken when Splatoon 3 comes out, I just sincerely hope that the nin-chicken-tendy don't shadow or surprise drop it like they did last time with the Octo Expansion. Im excited for *news* on scarlet/violet? im not excited for that particular game yet, i'm just excited by the prospect. Also Bugsnax is getting new DLC this year, cannot WAIT to see someone get their butt handed to them by a Y-7 horror game. things with no actual release date that im hoping will come out this year include Deltarune chpt 3, The Grey Garden's remake, and (maaaaaybe?) a new chapter of Poppy Playtime! im sure some indie release is going to sneak up and smash it's silly lil crowbar against the back of my knees, though, and make me forget all of those are things im hoping for.
im super excited for dq 3 remake thats coming up along with other classics square enix is churning to make up for all their fuck ups with balan and marvel avengers games
11:33 yeah I have to agree. Like seriously I think people are too picky about graphics. Like, Pokemon Legends Arceus looks inexcusably bad in a lot of places, but it still looks good, even great sometimes.
Even PLA doesn't look _that_ bad. Like sure, it's definitely bad considering who's making it and the resources that have at their disposal, but comparing it to a game that actually looks bad and it's just like nah It's more disappointing than bad
We only have ourselves to blame for lack of innovation. Companies churn out the same generic games every year because they are guaranteed sellers. The gaming community is so damn fickle and judgmental. Why would companies want to take risks nowadays when the smallest issue gets your game lambasted? It's easier to simply release the same FPS yearly like Battlefield and Call of Duty because you know the multiplayer alone will profit. Games that are too unique don't attract casual players and being ambitious increases the likelihood of an imperfect product, which inevitably gets roasted by gamers who exaggerate small issues as if they even take away from the fun. Kids these days expect every game to be without any glitches and everything to be the biggest thing since the wheel. When the game doesn't meet their impossible expectations, these kids spam Metacritic and other sites rating the game a 0.0.
I'd want Eldin Ring if my poor ass didn't only have a Switch. Klonoa and Kirby are definitely my top ones, botw2 would be there but y'know... no release date. I'd REALLY shit myself if Treasure finally resurrected Wario from his WarioWare grave for a new 3D Wario title! A green pipe dream, to be sure.
Also I'm getting more vibes of Odyssey from Forgotten Land than I am 3D World because Kirby eats something and becomes something else just like Mario throws Cappy and becomes something (or someone) else. I'm surprised he said that he gets vibes of 3D World because I don't see at all how Forgotten Land has any similarities to 3D World especially since he showed the footage of Kirby eating something and turning into something like in Odyssey (although Kirby has done that in the past in his other games long before Mario has where he ate something and turned into someone or something with their characteristics).
I find it funny how you lamented the lack of originality in the gaming industry and then proceed to only be excited for DLC, franchise sequels, remakes, and Elden Ring.
I don’t excited about anything anymore…am i just depressed? I think a part of it is like nothing really new about gaming is exciting me rn cause i dunno everything that we’ve gotten recently has felt half assed with few rare exceptions and i just haven’t had time to play this hobby as much anymore. As far as Nintendo goes they’ve made a lot of questionable stuff recently especially with the whole finish the game later concept….i still also am adamant that creatively gamecube was the best era minus not having properties such as Splatoon, DKC but they were very creative with the concepts and games would be finished. I feel like now i have to wait 2 or three years to play a game for them to be finished releasing the rest of the game….and yet it still feels unfinished and underwhelming…sometimes I wonder if I’m growing out of the hobby however when i pick up a game I genuinely enjoy I’m able to have fun with it.
It’s been a pretty rough couple years so I think it’s reasonable to be depressed right now, but you could also just be burnt out on games. Gaming is kind of in a slump right now IMO but there’ll always be more than enough great games to dig up that aren’t newly released. In my experience it can help to try out a new hobby or creative outlet until you find something that sticks, then when you get a little bit tired of that new thing chances are you’ll be able to appreciate video games more. If you really do think you’re depressed I’m not gonna try and give you the answers because I’m not qualified but it’s better to look into it. Trying to find the root issue or ways to improve your situation is better than ignoring it, even if it’s easier to pretend that there isn’t an issue.

@@gramarson9562 I can definitely get what you mean there. I think part of it definitely has to do with COVID messing with the quality of games but I also can’t really ignore the fact that Nintendo’s become super complacent. A lot of my favorite games in recent memory have been indie games more than anything, they’re not always as polished but they never feel cynical in nature. With AAA games the flaws can often be boiled to down to completely intentional decisions (Nintendo does this a lot by rushing games out the door) but with indie games it feels much more like a personal experience where the developers tried their hardest to make everything as good as it could’ve been. It seems like some series are beginning to pick themselves back up again though like Kirby and Pokémon after having super rough first entries on the Switch so maybe we’ll start to see an upward trend in quality and experimentation from here on out. Here’s hoping, at least.
I'm not excited for a single game this year. At this point, I usually wait until the game is released and then determine if I should get it. Too many games turn sour nowadays and I don't wanna get my hopes up anymore.
Kirby looks good, but Xenoblade 3 is the only game I care about this year, unless we get a Donkey Kong collectathon announced at E3. It'd be a much closer race between those two.

He's talking about the level design and fixed camera, a pretty major part of how the game will feel to play
nah man I'm holding out hope for the two JRPGs nobody cares about.
Why won’t Nintendo give us dk?

I find it funny how you lamented the lack of originality in the gaming industry and then proceed to only be excited for DLC, franchise sequels, remakes, and Elden Ring.
It's all there is to be excited for, lol.
@Coochie Kong ? No crying here, Elden Ring is the best game I've played in years. Fucking love it lol.

That's a really smart approach to be honest. I think a lot more people should follow that but people will probably learn their lesson
Something tells me this game channel is killing AL on the inside.
Kirby looks good, but Xenoblade 3 is the only game I care about this year, unless we get a Donkey Kong collectathon announced at E3. It'd be a much closer race between those two.
Modern day gaming is sucks? Half true. Eldenring.
