I'm a third year nurse and super nervous about getting a grad year and actually becoming an RN. Love watching your videos, they really do help x
I started my grad program this week and I have my first supernumeray shift tomorrow! Watching this video made me feel like I was talking to a friend who was trying to help me ease my anxiety. Thank you for this :)
Thank you so much for this video! I'm in my final year of nursing and midwifery and appreciate all the tips I can get 💖
Thank you so much for all the advice!!
Thank you so much for the video! It is REALLY informative!
Thank you very much for this video !! You saved me !! I wish you and your family a lifelong happiness and health 💓💓💓
Thank you!! I’m doing my second rotation for my grad year. My first rotation was endoscopy and now I’m on a gastro/surgical ward. Feeling like a huge noob again but it’s really nice to know that I’m not alone in this! I’ve been feeling SO annoying Hahahah and I I just wanna be good and helpful but I know that will come with time. Appreciate this video so much!!! Xxx
I remember my teacher telling me about the a-z book you mentioned and I thought it was a great idea, but I forgot to go buy one until you reminded me :) thanks for the video.
Thank you for this Bek! So helpful!
This is sooo much good advice! Thank you! I’m a grad RN in WA starting her 3rd week on the floor 😊 will take this advice and apply it in my learning!
Thanks so much! Glad I could help!! ☺️
Thank you for your videos! I’m 2nd year RN out of 4 as part time last year - haven’t even done my aged care yet all theory, but I’m packing it! Luckily I work in a hospital so I know the wards and what to expect somewhat. Great content btw
You're welcome! I'm glad you find them useful!!
I am starting my grad year next month, excited with full on nervous😅. Great video.
On my second supernumerary (day 2), the ward was understaffed and I ended up being on my own and being one of the numbers. Ended up unintentionally making one of my young patients cry and her mom ended up calling the DNM and filing a complaint 😭 I can't believe I'm still employed
That’s no good! No matter how understaffed the ward is you should’ve still got your supernumerary day that’s not on you at all! Hope it all gets better from here 🌻
4:40 thankyou! Preparing medications makes me so clumsy and MIMS is suddenly in Klingon ... started Third Year this month having moved interstate for uni with Covid gaps between last Placement and current Simulation Labs. Also older and feel silly not knowing stuff around younger girls who appear so chillaxed.
Your videos will definitely help. Thanks again.
Love the medication 💊 address book idea 💡
I’m in my first year of nursing in Australia ❤️
Not a nursing student, but a paramedicine student. Some of this won’t be relevant for me, but I still found it useful! Loved the Monopoly Deal analogy 😂
Still somewhat relevant! I’m glad someone liked my analogy and didn’t think I’m just crazy 😂
Hi Bek, i love ur vlobs... u r very calm and transparent person. A big thank u for all ur tips.. Today is my very first Nurse shift and i m nervous and scared. However, u helped me to calm down. I love u so much😀
Hey! Thankyou!! Hope your first day went well!!
Thank you so much
Hi Bec. Thanks for your video, it is so inspiring. What employing status would you recommend for a new grad to start ? 0.8 0.9 to a full-time with a ADO?
Hey Bek, can you go into ICU nursing straight after you complete a grad year? Also wondering whether the cannulation training was offered onsite through the hospital or if you have to do that outside of work?
Hi Bek! Could you by any chance discuss if grades matter in looking for a job? as in will the employer ask for your transcripts, how much do grades really matter, etc? I just did my first written assignment in nursing school and I thought I's at least get a high credit, an I got barely a pass, a grand total of 58.9/100... oh to my terror. its so discouraging and since I know nursing employment can be competitive.. can you provide some advice or discuss about this topic, please? thank you.
Hello, im not Bek, but i have recently scored my grad year recently. I was told by interview feedback from a organisation that the higher the scores for e.g. HD or D the more points would be added on in addition to your paperwork, cv and interview score
Thank you so much for this video Nurse Bek, it is super helpful and informative. I was wondering if you could one day make a video on addressing key selection criteria for the Nursing Grad application program, if you haven't done one already:)
Thankyou for watching & supporting! I’ll add it to my list to film 🌻
@@nursebek9428 , no worries and thank you, that would be super amazing & helpful:)
@@nursebek9428 yesss I would also love that please 🙏
Hey there thank you for the video. Could I ask how do we apply for a new hospital after finishing our new grad year ?
I feel confused rn...
So can you still work in hospital after the grad program? Or you have to apply a position again?
The contract is only for 12 months so you have to reapply for a position ☺️
how much do you get paid while in the graduate program? what is the acceptance rate?
Every facility is different tbh. I’d say as a grad between 50-65k a year would be normal? That’s just a stab in the dark though.
What does DD’s stand for?
Dangerous drugs (drugs of addiction) the schedule 8 & 4 medications 🙂
do you need to go to this graduate program to get a job?
It makes it easier to get a job especially in the hospitals but not an absolute requirement 😊
I’m petrified I start my grad in two weeks
Hope your first week went well!!
