I just put I tiny bit of krazy glue on the middle of the knob on my 02 its held for about 5 years. Can't wait for dodge to bring back the midsize. Good video.
Would by replacing this switch/dimmer also fix no dashlights & taillights? I have a 4wd 2002 Dakota Great video this type of vehicle is simplest to work.
Are the wires going to the fog lights separate of the main/middle conglomerate of wires? If so which side? I’m endeavoring to swap truck headlight/fog light switches. Old truck has them, new truck doesn’t, same make, model, year truck. I’m adding off road spot LEDs instead of stock, and would like to use old switch so I don’t have to drill anything else out of dash.
@@TheGasTap OK thank you cause I am going go be a drag racer this year and need tips on how to shift my truck and what rpm and what psi and stuff like that and also just love your drag racing videos
I have an 02 dodge Dakota sxt and my switch panel i turn the lights on with, that bottom right corner gets extremely hot and apparently something is shorting out. How would I figure out what’s shorting out, Mainly gets hot whenever I turn the dial down when I’m driving or when it’s half way turned
Looking at your video, which is quite good I might add, I kinda realized that it's a sealed unit, if i got it right, so even though mine is fine, knob and all, i only need to have the internal indicator light bulb replaced, which went out only for the light switch. Not the fogs. That works. So if i got it right, it seems that to replace the "light bulb" in the switch, I'll need to replace the switch. Or am i wrong?

Possibly. Time to get a wiring diagram and multimeter
Good video. I'm sure motor manufacturers don't consider the poor guy who might have to pull the thing apart when they design their vehicles.
Thank you sir

Not sure off the top of my head. Look up wiring schematics on Google and that will tell you.
We need another drag racing video

That sounds like the rheostat in the switch to me

Been a while since I’ve looked at one of these. I don’t have the answer for you.
Not a problem. Thank you.
Hows the Valiant going? Havent seen anything for a while.
No progress in a while, I've had some other things going on. I hope to get back to it really soon.
Title fail, for me I assume you were custom build a Headlight switch as it said 'DIY' and not actually the wording 'replacement'.
Fixed👍
why cant you just replace the knob?
You can if that’s the only thing broken.
My ranger as to many clips....lol
Great video! Where did you get your dash cover??? I would love to have one!
