@@thebrutusmars if you want to be proper, Caesar should be at the end, proceded by name and succeded only by honorifics (Augustus, Germanicus etc.). Caesar was a part of the name, not title per se.
Other notations were present in łate antiquity and early Byzantine times (when form "kaisaros" appered sometimes along "basileos"), but never really widespread as far as I know.

Well, the byzantene empire was basically the east roman that lost its west part. So greece restoring the byzantene then roman empire is accurate.
They did retake rome and parts of italy and Illyria as well at one point so it does make sense. They were still Hellenic (untill they adopted Christianity) and used Roman law, culture, and architecture.

Byzantine was a term invented almost a hundred years following its fall to the Ottomans. They considered themselves Romans.

I like your plan for mod overview and disaster saves -but remember the next big Hoi4 DLc is due out at the end of next month, on February 25th, I believe. That might throw a bit of a spanner in the works so be ready for that at the end of February and beginning of March? Maybe plan the DLc? Or maybe invite Drew and iSorrow to play as Portugal, Spain and France with you?

I got excited till the very end! Seeing the restored Roman Empire share borders with a nation that claimed to be the successor as the pseudo Roman Empire was very satisfying. It was like watching a good series that ended on a cliffhanger. Even just watching the trailer of what happens next since the ending would hype me up.

Alex, you're not wrong about Germany being really hard to get through right now. The only way that I've managed to beat them is by protecting France as the UK along the Belgian border and just having thousands of Strategic Bombers atomizing every province that they control.
What happens is that the French AI puts all the divisions on the maginot, because Italy declared war last minute against France, so it doesn’t think its a threat

My last game as Cezechoslovakia:
- I conquered Hungary
- I formed full czech entente with Yugoslavia and Romania. So Germany does not have Czech industrial capacity and fascist allies in Hungary and Romania
- USA successfully invade France.
- Soviet union hold east part of Poland.
- Japan lost the war against China
Germany is at war with entire world ........ fighting on all fronts, but nobody can break through their lines
idk how, but watching your vids made me slightly better at the game! I could actually pull off taking on France and defending from the Brits! (even though it was fuhrerreich and the continental entente was at war with ajapan, and I somehow by taking only a few land provinces capitulated Ukraine, Czechoslovakia and Poland... and later on I got the soviets on my side, but they didn't help much... so it might have only been a lucky game XD)
At least 2 or 3 Hoi4 videos per week looks like a good plan.

Greece is at legitimate Rome as Italy, if not more
Rome was the Capital for 1083 years(753BCE-330CE)
Constantinople was the Capital for 1121 years(330CE-1451CE)Modernday Greece fulls alot of culture from its days as the sole Roman Empire and has WAY more in common with Rome than Italy as it is the closest to a successor state of Rome
And to clear up confusion:
The Byzantine Empire IS The Roman Empire
The HRE and Frankish Empie MAY be The Roman Empire, but tbh, really arn'tBut, a modern day Greece would likley choose to be named Byzantium as it is the name used for them ruling the Roman Empire

Well the byzantine empire was given its name much later. So people that lived in the Byzantine empire identified themselves as romans, who spoke greek and practised christianity.

For no particular reason, this map of the Roman Empire under Diocletian, shows it divided into 4 Prefectures.
The 3rd Prefecture, called "Ilyricum", pretty much follows the borders of modern day Greece.
