      Sokay... You obviously do wonderful things with practically nothing and fairly basic tools. I also love that you make a lot of your tooling.
      I love that you don’t talk through the videos and it’s mostly done in time-lapse. The one negative thing about your channel is that your videos are quite click-baity. The way you title your videos entices people to watch without knowing what you’re going to make. While it’s kinda cool to get a surprise at the end, it does get old and it would be really nice to be able to find these videos when you’re looking for something specific. I think the quality of your videos, craftsmanship, creativity and overall style of your content is more than adequate to get people to watch your stuff. I don’t think you need to resort to any click-bait tactics.Tell us what you’re making so we can expect what we will find. A simple shot of the finished product would work great. The end result is awesome, but for me, the magic is in the process of seeing it being made. Keep making awesome things, and I’ll keep watching it. :)

    I think all your crafty projects are great, you make things out of material that you already have on hand, it shows people to use their imagination, not only are they useful, they're great projects to share with your child, friend, or who ever. I just say for you to keep up the good work you are doing, I don't understand why anyone would give a thumbs down to such good craftsmanship.

    I always liked woodworking because you can fabricate what you want or need with simple tools. You are demonstrating how true that is. Your work looks good, it works great, and it makes me want to get out of being a paramedic and back into being a carpenter.

    • @wirdax
      @wirdax Před 4 lety

      If you do it like that. The chance of needing a paramedic is greater. If he would have sawn it and chiseld it out he would have a cleaner surface and not a dangerous cutting clamp for a power tool without dept stops. Which has tendencies to bite and draw itself in the wood. And plenty of woodworking to do as a hobby a lot of good channels where power machines or big investments aren't needed. And woodworking is nice nut the more traditional u learn the better the results. Because when u can do it by hand u can do it with an appropriate power tool. Not the other way around.

    This will sound bitter and negative but I would love to have the time to spend a week making a beautiful wooden vise. I have to make boring old houses and stuff. I am happy for folks that can make simple things really slowly. I buy my simple tools so I can get my projects finished. Maybe when I retire I will understand the point of projects like this. I kind of hope not. I think I would go somewhere that really needs help and build them a well or a school.

    Я кажется понял тему канала - делать наименее очевидные и минимально полезные вещи наименее эффективным способом. Автор, по такому случаю у меня для Вас есть рецепт. Записывайте:
    1. Взять 5 картофелин разных сортов и размеров;
    2. Сложить в чайник, залить водой;
    3. Сварить;
    4. С помощью бензопилы со специальной насадкой и колоноскопа очистить и измельчить не вынимая картофель из чайника;
    5. Добавить молока непосредственно из коровы, самого дешевого заменителя масла и случайных специй в случайных количествах с закрытыми глазами;
    6. Попивать пюрешку через соломинку для коктейлей из ночика чайника;
    7. Всем, кто не понимает, в чем прикол, говорить что "Это невероятно! Вы такого еще никогда не испытывали! Почему никто мне не рассказал об этом раньше? Нужно всего лишь..."
    А если серьезно, то Вы собираете силовой инструмент (тиски), в который собираетесь зажимать крупные и, возможно, острые детали при работе со скоростным и опасным инструментом. И для этого вы берете обычную фанеру. Не особо надежную и совсем не прочную (Вы сами без усилий продавливаете ее стамеской в видео). При этом Вы сначала намертво склеиваете заготовки, а потом начинаете их обрабатывать. Как мне показалось, это наиболее неудобный вариант.
    По поводу качества видео претензий нет, сама поделка - мусор, процесс изготовления ужасен.

    I am thinking you put the nut on the wrong side of the fixed end. When you apply clamping force the only think holding it is the small screws around the nut. If you put the nut on the other side of the fixed end, the body of the wood would carry the clamping force. Then you could apply more clamping force without bursting the nut out of its housing

    Metal workers using a milling machine or some grinders use exactly the same type of vise, and have been for decades, possibly longer. You did a good job on it. Now for a new challenge. Check out the device machinists call a mag chuck. It is like a table top that holds metal by magnetic force, so that an over-the-table machine (milling head or grinding wheel) can work the piece. What is really cool about this is the fast and easy way the workpiece stays put, like totally put, in an instant, then, in another instant, it is just sitting there. Can you come up with a divice that holds a piece of wood to a table, without grips on the sides, holding it steady enough to use a router or chop saw? Just an idea for a challenge. You seem to like challenges. Thanks for the video.
