I was genuinely less scared of EVERYTHING ELSE after my first close quarters reaper leviathan encounter. Made the mistake of going near the back end of the aurora at night. No seamoth. Dead seaglide. I don't know how I lived lmfao

People say "Turn off the volume, the roar can really scare you" but the funny thing is that
the roar is actually the safest thing of it, its literally the only way you know that it sees you, and if you don't have volume on, well, it'll be even MORE terrifying cause its a quiet jumpscare not "Oh there's a reaper over there, imma turn around"

Oh my goodness, I don't even know what I am. My baseline is anxious at all times but I'm making myself finish. I am obsessed with this game but I'm also terrified of everything because my biggest fears are the dark and unknown. I have never felt so satisfied by achievements in a game like I do with Subnautica. Your video was much needed. Thanks, man.

I play Below Zero, I plan on playing Subnautica one day, and the "Scared until I saw a reaper" is completely accurate. Except the reaper is replaced with the Chelicerate.

This is me whenever I mod Skyrim. I say I only want mods to enhance graphics... But then I end up downloading like 60 mods and then my game crashes after like 30 minutes of playing.

I'm new to the game so I'm definitely a "casual" and "wasnt scared until they saw a reaper". Don't know my way around the map fully yet so sometimes I accidentally end up in reaper territory. For the moment I at least know in what general area of the map they are at so I try to thread lightly when approaching it so I don't spook myself. I love watching the reapers from a distance tho. Such majestic creatures when they aren't chasing you. Great video tho! Love the content! Been binge watching a lot of your videos since im hooked on this game. 🔥

I'm the guy who, when leaving the lava zone after reaching it in 3 hours, remembers that I forgot to scan the Sea Dragon to complete my 4546B encyclopedia. No seriously I have a problem of needing to scan literally everything from the tiniest plant to the largest leviathan even if it may cost my life

I get that but only heart attack when I run into a fish or a reaper, those are the only time I get scared (but I just made a cyclops and haven’t gone to the lost river so more spooks could be there)
I'll kill it. You scan it. I take PDA photos and decorate my base with posters of each creature to add to my hall of fame. Subnautica is my bitch!

I'm the "lost guy". Once I figure a location out, I won't forget it, but it took me around 3 days to find the grand reef
I get that :) finding things for the first time can be quite tricky!

I only found the (deep) grand reef when came up from Lost River through that section lol. I finished the game without spending hardly any times in the Mountains, I don't think Ive even been to the Dunes etc. I was mostly motivated for resource gathering, and if a place doesn't realy have it, I won't cruise around there.
Beacon in every biome - takes hours off me being lost

Apollo the one would love to but you cant due ti radiation and the radiation suit comes after the aurora explodes
when i started playing i went straight to the deep areas, I wanted to see the scariest creatures. I had no idea what was over there but i literally didnt do anything but play with fire for the first two hours before creating a base right in the void. It was kinda like i was a daredevil who only wanted to seek the thrills of the unknown and the dangerous.
I love that approach :) Very daring!
I have a very “systematic” way of playing where I’ll find one specific goal and do nothing else until I accomplish it. It’s served me well to get all the vehicles, (according to my Xbox I had the cyclops in 2 hours and 45 minutes) but has also proven pretty ineffective since I got a vehicle that runs on six power cells before I even had the power cell charger.

I'm sort of a builder/slayer hybrid in Subnautica. Right now I'm working on building a fortified base in the inactive lava zone to use as a staging point to take down my first Sea Dragon Leviathan.

I'm a mix of the Builder and the Slayer.
I went out of my way to build 10 self-sufficient bases throughout the whole map. While they weren't that large in footprint (I tried to minimize that so things were easy to get to), I did outfit all of my bases with a vast variety of facilities. Each base had a single decorative living quarter (with a radio, bed, aquarium, table, chair, potted plants, two windows and a picture of something nearby), a fabrication room (containing battery/power cell chargers, fabricators, an upgrade table, a trash can, storage containers and maybe water filtration if the food farm is outside), a food farm (always grew every edible plant, mostly indoor but the floating island and mountain bases had outdoor farms that grow every edible plant), a resource farm (underwater farms for both variants of mushroom, creepvines, bloodvines and gel sacks), a fish farm full of reginalds with decorative local plants at the bottom, a scanner room, a moonpool with an upgrade console and a beacon so that it was easy to know where the bases were. I would usually stack the indoor farms, fabricators and fish farms on top of each other and each room had a sign marking their entrance and a door seperating them for the occasional breach. I would still say that my bases were not as grand as that built by typical builders I just wanted them to be able to do every function available and didn't care to expand them beyond that.
While I didn't hunt Reaper Leviathans, I did kill a lot of them that were either in my path or nearby a base. It was very easy to ignore and avoid Ghost Leviathans and Sea Dragons. The Sea Dragon patrolling the lava castle was cleverly kept away from my base with a window view of the lava castle by putting a creature lure on the other side.
That's certainly a pretty impressive set of bases :) I feel like you'd LOVE the automation mod pack that recently came out!

The bloody crashfish ended my first playthrough in less than 2 minutes. I think that is my fastest non intentional fail I have ever had. across more than a hundred games played over 3 decades.

I’m definitely the guy who saves every two seconds... and overpacks in every journey. Literally brings a dozen of power cells for the Cyclopes. Not to mention the huge amount of water and food for a 500m journey lol

I feel like a mix of the lore freak and the biologist. Legit have plans for a phylogenetic tree of all the flora and fauna of both games… got quite the task cut out for me but I’m planning on _hopefully_ getting it done by the end of the year. Gonna put that 9th grade biology class info into action and hopefully learn more about the classification process since it looks pretty cool and fun.

the scared one is kind of accurate for me since I have Thalassophobia, the gameplay is normal for the most part but when I go places like the the floating islands, that one huge floating island that's a real island, the dunes, and stuff like that I just get a bit more nervous swimming over, I just tell myself "if I don't look at it it won't hurt me" works half the time XD
With thalassophobia Subnautica just becomes a horror game :D

We know that the Precursors had a large enough presence on Earth that valuable museum pieces were displayed in random research outposts, having them interact with humanity in the 20th century enough to speak with important cultural figures isn't that far of a stretch.

I was watching (ahrm) another player's playthrough. The scream he let out when he turned around, figuring the Sea Dragon Leviathan had left the building, only to find the silly damned thing was *_right_* behind him, actually hurt my ears. Pretty sneaky for something so damned big.

they never approach any areas that contains leviathans (the 1 exception is reefback, maybe sea treaders but they avoid that area too)
