About Subnautica:
Subnautica is an open world survival game in development by Unknown Worlds Entertainment.
Subnautica allows the player to explore an aquatic alien planet by scuba diving and traveling in ,
while collecting resources and food to survive. It was released on Steam Early Access on December 16, 2014.
The Xbox release was in August 2016.
The player controls in first-person view the lone survivor of a crashed ship on an aquatic planet.
The main objective of the player is to explore the open world environment and survive the dangers of the planet, while also continuing the story.
Subnautica allows the player to collect resources, construct tools, bases, and submersibles, and interact with the planet's wildlife.
Players must keep themselves adequately hydrated and fed, and must also maintain their oxygen supply while traversing underwater.
They disvocer remnants of the Precursors, an anchient alien species, that used to live on the planet, massive structures and recieve mysterious signals by a strange entity.
The development team opted to use the Unity engine rather than Spark, the engine used for the company's previous game,
Natural Selection 2. Subnautica producer Hugh Jeremy justified this decision because of the different demands that the game places on the engine,
and "because [the team] does not include people working on Spark, it's not appropriate for Subnautica to use Spark. By using Unity for Subnautica,
Spark can continue to develop in certain directions, while Subnautica develops in others. To use Spark for Subnautica would be to try and square peg a round hole."
Subnautica was released on Steam Early Access on December 16, 2014.
Subnautica was originally planned to be released on Xbox One on April 1, 2016, but was ultimately delayed by another month. - Hry
I'm part of Scanner group and I cant believe that only 91% of people dive into the water in subnautica
Internet off?
Im not part of it but my nephew definitely is. He won’t go up for air or collect resources. He just scans everything and goes inside caves in the shallows for stuff. He was hasn’t even got fins or an o2 tank.
Me too. But i also biologist, and for me i always more important to scan a crashfish than a seamoth.

The blind man: the player who endlessly searches for sandstone outcrops and never has enough silver
Totally not me...😅
If you don't count Below Zero... its definitley me
this was me in the short amount of time I did survival
Me
im in this comment i dont like it >:c
The Smoker: makes an underwater base just so you can have a long glass corridor connected to an observation room so you can get high, eat chips & listen to Survive looking at shiny fish underwater
im the type that goes out of the "safe" shallows and immediatly goes back after hearing loud noises
Same I don’t like leaving but you have to sooner than later because if you overcome the fear of anything outside the shallows you will be able to appreciate the beauty of dangerous areas
"The Margeurit" - The player who has decided to kill every monster that even slightly inconvenienced them. xD
✋
I see a Ghost Leviathan, I straight up went for it and I even happened to have my stasis rifle ready. I think I've killed all of them within the map.
Yep thats me i have a bunch of screenies with dead stuff Edit: My favorite biome is the void, i love killing leviathans in survival mode.

I kill annoying warpers :D and crabsquids, and bone sharks, and a few more prawn suit agressive animals

@Grayson Beresten You should its fun.Or you could use console commands to do that :)
Honestly, yeah same
This is me,as well as the scanner.

Yet another type of player: The capturer: takes a leviathan to the safe shallows/lava zone and build around it (that’s me lol) edit: to be their friend
Ok
I brought an adult ghost to the safe shallows was funny
I'm glad to see it's not only me that's had a leviathan problem in safe shallows. Although mine was accidental.
Another Type Of Player: The one who doesn't go near the crash zone, the mountains, and the dunes.
i’m that player
I press f1, I see dunes, I fucking run
@@finn7750 I agree
Ive played the game since early access and ive only been to the crashzone once
Another one:
The Loony: Builds their base in the crag field
Im the kinda guy thats forgets to breath until its too late but then still somehow survives
I'm the opposite. I try to go back up early in the game with more than enough oxygen left just to realise I got stuck in a cave or a wreck and only find the way out when it's just barely too late
then my character pukes out everything and it seems he will still die
Same but i usually do this in hardcore XD

When the sponsor has you genuinely interested: _Oh?_
I'm a hardcore player. The first time I played the game I was scared as hell. The second time I was kinda bored, I wanted the excitement and fear from my first run back. That's why I chose to play my third run on hard-core.

I remember I built a giant base in survival, and when I found out that I needed lithium to make it usable, I got really sad because I knew I had to leave the safe shallows.
Lmao, i built my base in the lava zone

I died that way in survivor and that's what convinced me not to play hardcore.
The egg hunter: the player that is looking for eggs 24/7. This player builds MASSIVE aquariums that brake the game. The player uses and makes scanner rooms often
The Googler: Someone who is new to the game but instead of finding things themselves they always google everything.
Or read everything in the wiki. I'm near the end game just thanks to the wiki, knowledge is power, right?
everyone's first time lol

The stoner. Relax in survival while listening to a podcast and see how I feel in the moment. Go leviathan hunting, explore and build FOBs and my personal favourite. Forgetting to get O2 and nearly drowning and panicking whilst I try and locate where I parked my god damn sea moth!
The Roleplay Guy - The Player Who Acts If He Was The Actual Protagoinst In Subnautica, like the Press Start To Laugh Videos
I love taking on plenty of challenges! But I do love: building, scanning, fighting, etc. so maybe… the “extreme player” since I love doing everything in the game!
In one of my creative worlds, I built a base in every biome. And I also attempted to build one on top of the Aurora. The world was already pretty laggy, but that made the lag go through the roof. In fact, I don't even think I can open the world anymore.
Update: I have actually managed to open the world with a bit of patience, and I dismantled the aurora base, and now I can open it again!
Oof
Are you my brother? I've done that too lol. My Xbox just went bbbbbbbrrrrrrrbrbrbrbr and crashed lol. I build bases everywhere too

Man the music in between the types of players gives me such a strong feeling of subnautica that i am almost crying
Hey, my friend got a time capsule that is claiming it's from you. I want to confirm that it is, here's some info about it:
- It contained a cyclops power efficiency module
- It had an image of your name, in the subnautica font
- It said to tell you about it if it was found, and had "Acituanbus" at the end, on its' own separate line
I'll edit this with more info when my friend gets online
EDIT: It read something like: "A message from the prerelease, here's something to help with the cyclops power problem"
I'm the base builder and creative camper. I'm terrified of the game, and can't survive so I choose creative and my giant frame killing bases are my pride and joy.
Same
I’m the scanner and creative camper. I’m also a researcher, that means I build bases in each biome to research the life there and also put things related to that biome inside.
The hoarder: horse literally everything, even eggs
definitely the artist and tourist- the game is just so beautiful, can't help but sometimes sit there and marvel at it. Rarely I have my headphones in, sadly, because my monitor doesn't produce sound and I usually listen to music instead, but recently I've been travelling around with headphones on... can't say I'm used to all the extremely eerie sounds

Your insane
Same. I like to build bases by them and just use my seamoth\seaglide to outmaneuver them while heading straight for them
I made a base around all leviathan spawns and named them and made a family
@@dshane8731 same. Just not reapers yet
One bug i encountered recently is if you spawn in your moon pool and you enter your seamoth(might work with prawn suit too) before it fully loads in it will bug your seamoth out and you too, if you exit even if your base isnt flooded it will make you swim and your seamoth will get permenantly stuck
I fall into the 'hardcore heros' category, and a few tip to die less us to:
1. Carry nearly double the amount of food and water you usually have to avoid any possible risks
2. Carry Medkits, 2 to 4 usually works best depending on what you are doing
3. Have spare batteries and power cells on you or in the storerage of a vehicle you are driving in case you are far from your base and some thing dies
4. Simple one, know the map
5. Where you go somewhere take a much resources back as you can, better to have more than you need than to have to go back and risk being killed
6. Last but not least be carefully, keep an eye on your stats and your whereabouts, try to avoid leviathans, and repair vehicles (if safe to) when low
Hope these 6 these 6 tips will help any one play hardcore or even just playing normal.

Reaper Leviathan pog
[sub-category for builder] The Vacationer: Those that MUST have a base in almost every biome on the map that contain everything you'd possibly need so you dont have to travel 2km all the way back home just to craft one thing you'd forgotten
Another Class: The Collector. That one person that grabs every single item they find. The useless science equipment, the hats, posters, even the suitcases, plants, eggs, just about anything they can hold in their inventory, they take.
the rusher: rushes the aurora and other wrecks and sometimes dies because he's not prepared and doesn't take his time.
I've started my second hardcore save after I died wreck diving in the first one, so far I've got to the inactive lava zone and don't expect to die anytime soon, I play it VERY safe
update, I have successfully beaten subnautica on hardcore difficulty for the first time, it was a trip
@@firemoth1610 a bit late but great job
@@ghostsbustonme thanks, I started a below zero hardcore run and it's going well so far, although I've not played it in a while after some major bugs stole a thumper mid ice worm attack, that and losing interest after a while, but I will complete it too. @@firemoth1610 Nice. Currently working through mine. My first serious run was lost in the jellyshroom seabase, so this time I opted to simply not explore the area, as the drooping stingers were a near instakill before.
@@nile6076 I recommend using the blue gmod gravity gun to gently move them out of the way, it's what I did, good luck survivor
I am one of the hard-core players and still have never beat the game. I got infuriatingly close one time. I was fully prepared to make a single trip to the lava zones and I already had enough materials set aside to finish the game after that. But then of course my cyclops glitched very very deep and is unable to move. I saved my file and am too scared to go back in to see what I might find.
Oof you shouldn't have saved 😭😭😭 that happened to us also, there's no way out of the floor once you get in. Luckily we'd saved 20 minutes before that.
lmao I am for sure the scanner,... I have gotten into a lot of trouble from my instincts when seeing a large dangerous thing (such as the reaper leviathan) and thinking "HMMMMM..... I wanna scan it. I think I can do it without dying this time..." And then of course certain ones still take a few deaths to complete even when I think it wont.
"The Gamebreaker"
*Cries in Crabsquid pushing 3 Seamoths into the environment*
5:58 genuinely got jumpscared 😅. Also your editing has improved quite a lot!
6:37
In my Subnautica survival world, I have a Rabbit Ray stuck in the starting life pod.
The other kind of scanner: builds minibases with scanner rooms all over the crater so there's always a room nearby sending something to their hud.
New category: the over prepper. The guy who prepares for a tough encounter so much, that the challenge becomes too easy and he wastes his time. (Me)
The tryhard: end the levatian with normal knifes 🗿
I've ended a leviathan with a habitat builder... does that count? XD
*_-woot-_*
@@misschieflolz1301 you WHAT?
I’m definitely a mix between the builder, the scanner, and also the game breaker (which I somehow launcher my prawn suit into space, glitched my cyclops, and deleted the water all on accident just trying to mess around with floaters. Which all of these happened at the same time), also maybe a new one called the resource collector

The zookeeper. Don't just hatch eggs or raise food; build biome-specific aquaria or containment pools for every hatchable egg or catchable small critter, complete with appropriate vegetation, maybe even illustrating relative depth by stacking tanks. Plus aboveground plant beds for each island and the air-filled caves, if you're a botanist too.
the baby : never leaves his base/lifepod at night/day even tho he is in the safe shallows

I always go strait to the flouting Island to fill my inventory with lantern fruit, and eat all but one. then I build a multipurpose room so I can plant the lantern fruit, after that I go strait to the degasi base that is like 250 meters down after I make a seamoth of course and at that time I have a seamoth, a sea base, and now we wait for the Arora to explode.
So in other words, the vegan speedrunner
@@yourweirdplant yeah, you can say that.
The cartographer: the scanner room is this players best friend. this player sets up scanner rooms every 500-700 meters and, if given time, will have enough scanner rooms throughout the map that he will NEVER be out of range of one. Early symptoms of this player included relying on the scanner room as a mini base in stead of an all purpose room as you progress further under water. these players are also potentially the safest players since scanner rooms can highlight reaper leviathans so they ALWAY know if where theres one within range...and knowledge is power. This player would also likely have multiple scanner rooms at their main base for the convenience.
the thalassophobic guy: the guy who doesn't like spending his time in the sea and tries to find land asap
I am the type of player that is afraid of going deeper than 300 meters.

The person with thalassophobia not wanting to do anything because of the fear: that's me hello!
I am the guy who‘s gangsta until he has to go to aurora! xD
That's easy if you use the seaglide glitch
I'm the story fixer, I use commands on survival to progress the story in a more cohesive flow, like giving myself gloves and scanner before leaving the pod for the first time, because yes it makes total sense to go touch a bunch of unknown life forms with your bare hands
I also like to unlock the blueprints for the beds, right at tge start, because waiting 20 in game days before being able to sleep is kinda weird to me
I also like to make sure I get the audio lines for various survival sugestion from the PDA before doing something, i.e:
"scans show sulfur deposit in the cave, sulfur is an essential composant of the repair tool" before crafting repair tool
Or
"Use salt and other spice to mask the flavor of fish" before curing my food... Etc
Another type: The killer: Litterly kills every thing they see even if its not a fish

The hoarder, saves up alot of resources and has alot of storage
The scavanger, just gets the necessary resources that they need last minute
i have 2 peepers permanently swimmingaround in my base, and a floater stuck to thin ceiling of my moon pool. :D
one more type: the never finisher, who never bothered with building the neptune escape rocket, and possibly used the materials on a 12 story cuddlefish enclosure instead.
I feel like a new kind of spreedrun category should be "Cheat%" where you can use any methods including cheats and consoles but as long as its no external or instant game finishing things

"This video is sponsered by opera GX"
Me watching it on opera GX:
Massive respect for the Game breaker because I discovered how to get cuttlefish inside my base and I’m able to pet them and they just fly around
The "One-Eye"- Uses the Cyclops for everything
20 hour and 3 minutes was my final play time for my hardcore run. It was also attempt four but, we don't talk about that.
The collector you spend all your time collecting cute fish and avoiding the horrible ones
I see "the scanner" come up on screen... Immediately go, "yeah, that's definitely me..."
the gamebreaker - *proceeds to do a glitch where you can walk underwater like normal while swimming*
For some reason I’m imagining some Sea Dragons ripping chunks of soil with trees in them from the Floating Island and carrying them to a huge platform covered in soil, and Cave Crawlers holding seeds and travelling on Reefbacks to that platform.
I’m part of the game breakers group and scanner I guess as well and I have gotten my cuddlefish inside my base TWICE, seen a baby sand shark, encountered a reefback stuck running into terrain in the creepvine forest and have had a stalker put one of my cameras inside the map( it’s still stuck there to this day lol) and I also scan EVERYTHING I see, nothing goes unscanned.
the prepper: does not go into lifepods or biomes until they have better gear
We have the drowner, who always drowns because he doesn't check oxygen. The scared one who leaves the game when hearing a reaper and the basic oxygen tank divers, who get a hell load of basic oxygen tanks and dive down to the active lava zone
Class:The Collective Explorer
They always are in their sea moth, cyclops (or Sea Truck depending on the game) gathering resources in all biomes and keeping the items they find in their base, storage is important to them but atleast they're extremely prepared to make stuff
Yo Aci you dropped this..

I know want i said makes no sense
That person who tries to build a giant base connected to every biom.
I would describe my playstyle as, The Colonist. Which would be something of a combination of a builder, and a scanner. Basically, I'll build a main base, where I can just make infinite food, water, and ammunition (so a bunch of alien containment). From there, I'll head out in each cardinal direction about 800m, and start building 4 solar farms, from there, I 'll start building "listening posts" which are a scanner room, and enough added on to have it sit on the terrain right.
that reaper was pogging
I'm a hardcore hero, scanner and completionist after I beat Subnautica in hardcore challenges for example:beat the game less then 10 hours, vegetarian hardcore I need more harder, and Aci is in the best Subnautica content creator.
Yeah I’m a scanner, and I’m also a gamebreaker so I build long tube bases with bulkhead doors because prey fish spawn there for some reason. This just makes it easier to catch them
THANK YOU! I been trying to get ppl onto hardcore veganautica for a year! It's fun and adds a slight new degree of difficulty :P
The fighter: likes to fight different monsters
I cannot fathom the reality where I leave the safe shallows everywhere else is too spooky
The hoarder, that's me. Basically get a lot of materials and never needs them.
I had a boneshark spawn inside of a wreak earlier. It was in the inner most room along with a power cell charger fragment, taunting me.
Wow, I didn't need to get called out by several of these. I'm an absolute scanner (even have my settings changed to pause while I'm in the PDA so I can read all the lore without constantly dying of thirst and hunger), an almost vegan (I put grow beds in everything and rarely eat fish), and I'm a casual game breaker with my finest feat being in every time I went in an architect base, I half clipped through the floor, my Prawn suit would get stuck on flat surfaces in the buildings, and while trying to fix the issue fell through the entire map. That was a fun 30 minutes trying to salvage that save file.
