  • Just a quick look, I fixed it for a friend and thought I'd make a vid of the knife.

I just fixed one of these today for a friend. His had almost totally seized from hard use followed by neglect. Pulled it apart and found a half inch pad of accumulated link in it. Works perfect now. Pretty snappy.

I have something similar to that. It does kick really hard. Like the blade will go backwards on you. Lol

I was having the same problem with my 3550 mel pardue and after taking apart to clean I cannot get the auto button to work properly. After pushing the button to eject the blade the knife does not go into a locked position. Any ideas? Thx

common sense says that the lock is so kids can't open it...

No. This knife is an automatic, and in multiple states, only aloud to be owned by military and law enforcement, and should be kept away from kids. And common sense should tell you that the lock is so the push button isn't accidentally pressed. You're familiar with the safety on a firearm, correct? It wasn't made so that kids couldn't use it. It was made to avoid the firearm accidentally going off.
