Thanks for your video, it was very helpful, but I'd like to add a couple comments for clarification.
    1. You can reach both sides without removing fenders or major components. I found it easier on the driver's side to remove the fuse box cover and the top air dam (6 plastic rivets).
    2. If you're removing the power supply cable (not essential but helpful) squeeze on the sides of the white plug, NOT the top and bottom, to disconnect it, at least on a 2011 Avalon.
    3. The first cover is about 3 1/2" diameter and looks like an aluminum heat dissipation cover. Rotate it counter-clockwise a few degrees using the two tabs for leverage and pull out. Be careful not to pull too far as there is a braided strap connecting it.
    4. Inside of that is the contact points to the bulb. Grasp the outside (approximately 2" square metal block) and rotate slightly counter-clockwise. You can now remove both the cap from number 3 and the contact block from number 4 and remove completely.
    5. There are two wire retainers that hold the bulb in place. Starting with either one squeeze it towards the center and pull it out from under the tab that secures it. Repeat this procedure on the other side. The retainer wires will now hinge downward and release the bulb from the socket.
    6. Reverse the procedure when replacing the new bulb.
When replacing the new bulb be sure that the notch is aligned so that the bulb sits securely in the base.
I don't know if this will help anyone, but there were a few instances where the video had you turning it the wrong direction or removing the plug incorrectly. Forcing in the opposite direct risk damaging components.

This video was the only place I could find on the web on how to remove the HID ballast and get down the the HID bulb on my 2011 Toyota Avalon. I bought the car used and had no idea what was going on. Thanks for taking the time to post this video!

I really appreciate your video. It really helped me get the $7,000 lightbulb installed. Are their diamonds in them or what? Seriously, I would not have been able to figure it out without your video. I have a 2011 Toyota Avalon. Thanks.

Thank you! For the video and link to buy the bulbs! It was so difficult to find a specific video for the HID replacement.

Thank you so much for this video. Seeing as this particular set up only came out for 2011 and 2012 it's very difficult to find any vids or anything on these cars. They are kind of rare...but once again thanks for this. I will be replacing the bulbs on my 2011 Limited soon since they dont seem to shine as bright as they once did when I first got the car.

thank you for the video...now way i would have figured out on my own without breaking something...when taking the first plug out....you pinch the sides inward...should wiggle out after a few tries....otherwise super easy!!!
I just need to take out a loan for the next bulb that goes!

I have a 2011 limited avalon and I need the bulb and ballast I think. Well it is not called a ballast for the 2011. Do you know anything about it?

Same way you dont need to remove anything. I tried removing the fender but it's just a waste of time

I bought some aftermarket bulbs on Amazon for $26 for a pair. They were rated at 4.3, but for the difference in price I thought I'd give them a try. You can also choose your light color by ordering different ones. I installed them and they work and look great. We'll see how they hold up. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KSTL2Z4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
