By far the most comprehensive review I've seen yet - great video!
Thank you! Your opinion means a lot.
Philips has better Longivity than Osram
Osram may be bright but Life is Short
This is the first objective testing I've seen for car light bulbs. Others have only been subjective with questionable inconsistencies in testing conditions. Tests were very extensive and thorough too. Well done.
holy shit... this is the kind of videos we need. good job serg. more stress testing vids.
Finally, a grown-up and objective test with controls. Thank you!
Good job finally a review that goes into the review and so leave with not only what is the best but also what to look for. 👍
Keep up the good work! You're the best!
Thank you for all the hard work you have put into making this test!
Professionalism and competence! Thank You!
I like your testing setup and the calm but interesting way you present the information! Great Video! :)
Very scientific tests, great job. So many online reviews are from someone who bought a bulb and is compared to their old, worn out bulbs. Great videos and great information, bravo bro!
I so nearly bought a new set of Osram bulbs for my megane... glad I found your video as you've saved me a lot of money! Awesome stuff, you're an amazing valuable content supplier!
You are a fantastic guy preparing these very interesting and useful comparisons, and very creative!
Awesome channel and a very professional setup for testing. Also that you state all relevant test criteria shows your very professional approach.
Best comparison on CZcams! Very good, keep going!
After searching at least 10 other headlight bulb videos thinking I was never going to find the one that I wanted I stumbled across this video and it’s perfect every aspect of the information provided was justified thank you so much for making it
Whenever I see your video’s suggested I know this is going to be a good comparison! Thanks mate!
Excellent comparison test, the best I have seen. Thanks Sergiu
Thank you for your amazing work!
I was so close to buy osram, after this video I am keeping my standard bulb.
This is a great video. Such an effort and so much information. THANK YOU buddy.
Hi Sergiu, I am a first time viewer of your channel, and I am very impressed with the way you communicate with your audience and how you explain in detail, the various light outputs and color differences. Today's episode was very helpful to me, and know I have subscribed to your channel. Keep up the great work Sergiu.
Thank you very much! I hope that you'll like the upcoming videos and if you have any suggestions, please let me know!
@@SergiuGabor The bottom line is that with respect to tested lux output with the expensive Osram and Philips halogen upgrade bulbs, there is not much of a difference compared to the ordinary and inexpensive Hella bulb (603 lux). The Osram (616 lux) and the Philips (653 lux) only offer a lux improvement of +2% and +8%, respectively. Given the high prices of these premium ‘upgraded’ halogen bulbs, the measured gains are just not worth the cost.
Indeed, the English channel host Volkswizard stated that he was unable to discern a “dynamic” improvement when upgrading to the Osrams. Moreover, Volkswizard stated that the primary visual difference is the cooler colour temperature output is more pleasing as it is closer to what is delivered with more modern cars with LED headlights.
I think the takeaway from these tests and observations from both Romania and England is that if a driver wants a superior and contemporary headlight and illumination experience, just buy a newer and better 2020s car with factory LED or laser headlights.

You deserve more subs! This video is perfect.
I haven't yet found such an explanatory video! Great job next time include the philips diamond vision too in your comparison!
Super fain episodul. Succes in continuare!
Having had both the osram and the Philips I can say that the Philips are a whiter light and last longer than the osram. The osram lasted 6 months, the Philips are still in just over 1 year later.
I bought a set of Osram Nightbreakers for my Megane. Literally just the other day one died at just a little over 18 months. Given the OE bulbs lasted YEARS that's not great. Light output was OK but no discernable difference over the factory fit H7s.
I had those Philips also in my car and they lasted almost 2 year even promised on box 450 hour lifetime. Much whiter light dunno are those more luminous but at least you can see light better instead regular more yellow light tone.
Very detailed and comprehensive comparison. Great work 👍
A big kudos. 👍
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels. The editing, commentary, detail of tests, quality, and your personal intelligence are top notch. Just enjoyed your video over dinner. This is only the second video of yours that I’ve watched, I look forward to seeing them all.
In regards to this video, I was surprised that there’s still an aftermarket for halogen, when anyone who’s looking for brighter light, can just purchase a cheapo $30 HID kit online even though those kits are terrible with quality and glare, your average consumer who isn’t knowledgeable will never know/care.
I remember back in the early 2000’s, before aftermarket HID’a were even available, there was a HUGE aftermarket for Halogen bulbs. When I got my license and first car in 2004, I remember going to the local parts store and picking us a set of the “Silverstar” bulbs. They were expensive too! I think they were about $70 or $80 which is well over $100 in today’s money. I remember being so excited to see anything cooler in temp than the usual very yellow halogen. To my disappointment, they only appeared slightly less yellow, but I remember still being so excited to have something close to all the new expensive luxury cars driving around with HID’s.
Only 2 years later, in 2006, I bought my first aftermarket HID kit, and was amazed at the difference. They went into reflector housings, and even though I was aware they gave off terrible glare, I tried to aim them as low as possible to stop the glare from blinding people. It still didn’t work as I got flashed constantly. This is what pushed me to get more into lighting because i wanted better light, but without blinding people. That’s when I really got into projectors, and later that year (in 2006) I bought a used BMW 3-Series, and finally was able to have OEM Xenon projectors, which I later modded and did a retrofit of some Acura projectors.
Anyways, my point here is by watching this video, you took me back in time to when I was a teen, and that feeling of hoping my new halogen bulbs will look “blue like the nice cars” 😂😂😂😂
Anyways, keep up the great content and take care.
Thanks for the great comment 😄 I hope you enjoy the rest of my content. Take care!
Sergiu Gabor Thanks Sergiu🙏🏻👌
@@SergiuGabor In Australia, drop in HID or LED upgrade kits are illegal to use for road cars used on public roads. An Australian car can be upgraded with HIDs as long as this was a factory option when the car was new, the headlight washers must be present and functional, and the performance of the upgraded HIDs must be identical to the original factory HID option.
Simply put, for the most part, a proper and legal HID upgrade is just not worth it due to the cost and bother involved. 🦘🇦🇺
The failure mode of the Hella bulb is typical of filament lamps used in vehicle applications. The vibration causes the filament to break and the filament to move around with further vibration. This continued movement often causes the broken filament to reconnect and "weld" itself back together. Thus creating a shorter filament with lower resistance, higher current and higher light output - until the filament finally burns out again or breaks.
Felicitari pt acest video.Foarte bine realizat.
Amazing bro,I have not seen a review like this, great job
Looking forward for more reviews from you👍👍👍
Really great video, thanks a lot! Not many sources of this kind of information giving objective comparative test results.
Best test so far with these bulbs, Keep going! :)
Nice video man, very ilustrative, keep it going!
Thumbs up for detailed analysis 👍🏻.
My OEM OSRAM H7 55 Watt lasted 6.5 years, 65,000 kms.
Already ordered OSRAM night breaker laser, keeping my fingers crossed.
Heard that they have launched an OSRAM night breaker 200 also, but not available in my country ..
Amazing video wtih great content. Very concise and well prepared in digestible scientific way. I like it very much
Thank you. Needed this!
Brilliant video, extremely informative, many thanks!
Great video
Love your comprehensive review
Amazing high Quality review! Thank you!
Great video. Pure myth buster quality. Big thumb up👍
Big thank you! :) Keep up the awesome work!
Te urmaresc cu mare interes. Bravo!
I rarely hit the like button but this deserved it, this was such a well made informative video from a small youtube channel
Which is the best in your opinion
I have H4 bulbs in reflector. Which one shoul I opt for
Philips or osram
@@azharkazi7299 idk if i have any advice, both are similar, i got some cheap osrams but it didnt change that much
The best comparison ever.. excellent 👍
Excellent video. Very informative. Well done. 👍🏻
thank you very much for taking your time for this very helpful review
Superb, most in depth, objective and informative. I believe what I see;)
Very informative and comprehensive review. Thank you.
Ma bucur mult ca ai ramas 'Tu'. Agreabil in prezentare si foarte ingenios si practic. Te felicit sincer !
You have no idea how useful is this video...especially for a girl. Hi there and thank you from the bottom of my "I have no idea what to buy for my car". New subscriber here ^_^
Great test, thanks for putting all the effort in 👍
After many years I was using the night breaker series in H4 and H1, I decided to try out H7 Philips Racing vision gt200 one in projector lamps for low beam and reflector as high beam. The difference is quite high in my opinion. For the endurance I will watch it, since I use at least low beam day and night.
Especially for high beam the Philips version is a great advance, I can definitely recommend it.
I have a 2005 Chevrolet Lacetti which was equipped with H4 lamps. I am still a bit disappointed of their lighting ability, so I replaced them by original Suzuki Reno headlights which fit perfectly to the Daewoo/Chevrolet model. Only the connectors had to be adjusted.
Thank you for the great video!
Hi there.. How is the life time of your Philips? they still work?
how are the Philips bulbs? 1 year Update?
Very detailed and alot of work went into this. I think I'll stick with the cheaper hella style thanks for this. I've used nightbreakers and wasnt convinced they weren't much better. They certainly didnt last as long.
Brilliant review 👍
I had 3 sets of philips racingvision and lasted no more than one year(one failed in 3 months) good bulbs but now i am looking to try the bevinsee led you have reviewed, the red one now states its 100w and equivalent of what you tested are some silver ones stated power 60w . Thanks for your reviews!
Multumim Sergiu Gabor!
Very well explained and presented , please keep it up.
Thank you, that was a really technical video, which I like.
Super bun clipul, baftă in continuare
Finally a comparison!!
I changed my OEM H4 2 years ago against ..
Osram NIGHT BREAKER UNLIMITED H4 (checked my orders) :D
and it is for sure better.
Strangely the low beam is more yellow like while the high beam is more white...
But Philips might be even better once my osram dies.
Have it now about 15000km on my motorcycle.
I don't think it was a problem with the power supply. It was the bulb burning out. Sometimes normal home light bulbs go out the same way. I guess it's because the filament somewhere gets thinner and this means it gives out more light. For a very little while, because as you said, this causes the temperature to rise dramatically in that part of the filament and it burns out.
So you could include the result from Hela.
Superb video. Just what I've been looking for, for my GL1800 Honda Goldwing. I've tried Ozrams on one of the cars and as good as they were they blew within weeks so I didn't buy again. Ozram have a motorcycle H7 which is supposed to be more robust but if it is why not make it the standard for all vehicles? So, I've been considering Philips. Trouble is, changing headlight bulbs on a GL1800 is done by feel, and you need very small hands, so it's not something I want to be doing on a trip because it's not a 5 minute job. But after watching your video I've decided that the small gain in light with Ozram or Philips is not worth the increased risk of bulb failure and I've decided to stick with the standard H7's. A big thank you.
Great objective review! Thank you
Great video. really professional point of view. Thanks
Brilliant review
This is a fantastic video. I can’t believe how yellow the bulbs look. I was going to buy the Osrams, not any more! Thanks
I love how you made the machine to test for bumps, AWESOME!
More than 10 years ago in Sweden, my Toyota Hilux had glass lenses (not plastic).
In that car I had Philips 100/140W H4’s (yes, they were illegal…). In combination with 3 Bosch Navigators in the front as well 6 driving lights at roof level (all Philips 100W) I had enough light in front of the car to reach ~2500 meters of light in front of the car at night.
With that experience I still favor H4 & H3 light bulbs to modern LED’s. …and seeing your tests of old school bulbs for reflector headlights versus LED replacements there’s no question I will remain the old school kind of guy.
You are 100% right. Especially with the stress test, in a real-life, I had changed 3 times more the OSRAM bulbs on my bike in comparison with the Philips!!! Actually, I was not very happy with the Osram NightBreaker in comparison with the Philips.
i liked ur methods of testing... tnx for the effort
Excellent video. Thanks!
Great video....thanks for all of the info 😎👍
Excellent video. Very useful for me to make a buying decision. Thank you!
Best review, good job
Great review!👍
Nice job! Congrats!
You should do these reviews for a living, congratulations!
The Osram NightBreaker lasers that I had, lasted 2 weeks. With less than 500 km of driving on asphalt roads in decent condition, I don't think I'll ever buy anything by Osram. Sent them email and the only reply I got was "Well, they shouldn't really break _that_ quickly." Nothing else. I really should've made them give me new ones or just pay me back but I was extremely busy back then and didn't really have the time nor the energy to anything about it. Just bought a different pair of bulbs and went on with my life.
Awesome review. Hope everyone gives "Technical reviews" and comparisons like you do brother!
Felicitări pentru videoclip, foarte folositor şi informativ!
Awesome comparison, this really made me better informed! I already have HIDs in my EcoSport Fog lamps but needed to replace my Xtreme Vision H4's which recently gave up.. With the Xtreme Vison now Out Of Stock everywhere, seems Racing Vision are the way to go now.. Thanks @Sergiu!
Vreat review! Thanks!
Very well explained, it is really useful 👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻
Very useful video. Tks for sharing this info
Wow wow wow wow wow!!!!!!!!!! The perfect and the best review type of this kind .
