7 Day SUP Board & Camping Trip Down the River Severn
We embark on our very first physical travel challenge and we are so excited to share it with you. We have only ever SUP board 3 times and wild camped once so it only made sense to go on a 7 day SUP board camping trip down the River Severn. It certainly was wild! We will be paddling 67 miles from Welshpool to Bridgnorth which is a third of the entire length of the River Severn. If there is anything you take away from this mini series we hope it's 'Nothing grows in the comfort zone', go do something wild today!

Wooo, honestly the pain was minimal vs how incredible the trip was 😂. Yes, we have found vs other paddle boards we’ve been on that this is very stable. We are newbys to paddle boarding so didn’t really think about stability but was glad to find out they were 😊
Half way through so far and have to say it's a rollercaster of emotion, First the swans now the sheep, I am crying too, brilliant work with the poor sheep Sam....back to the video....

If only we had a storage unit full of dry bags 😂. Deffo need to get one for my selk bag though because I certainly will be doing this again 🙌🏼.
We saw an otter for a split second, it was closest to the Welshpool launch so maybe you can go on a tootle there when you next drive by and see if he says hello 😂

Honestly, spotting it’s little head poking up over the water and his mate all helpless made me so sad 😞. Glad we chose that day to go as it was very last minute!

I think other people might be able to, but I’m so inflexible I can barely cross my legs or wouldn’t even be able to hold my back up right 😂

NO WAYYYYYYY!! As soon as you got to your launch spot - we both looked at each other like 😀🤩 cause we stopped there on our way home from Yorkshire years back and walked to the very spot you got in at and I said "how wicked would it be to jump in from here" 😆 and then when I saw Jonny's face, I said "ok, for us to kayak from" 🥰 - Now I'll finish watching 😛 Buzzing!! xxxxxxx
It was such a beautiful camp site and the perfect first spot to ease us in to camping. Thankfully they didn’t mind how late we rocked up either 😂

Thank you Andy 🙌🏼. We do love the SUP board as you do feel like you are partially in the water, I guess a bit more connected but you travel much much faster by kayak 😆. We were basically at walking speed when there was no current 😂. 🐑 ♥️
@@nicroams To do kayaking properly, you need a lot more kit and you were able to travel with enough kit to camp. Also, with the boards, you don't need a car big enough to take canoes on the roof.
This was so much fun to watch really quite fancy our own sup challenge now ha ha look forward to seeing the next part of this trip

What an epic mini-series! I've just started looking at getting a SUP board for me and my kiddos so its handy to see some of the dynamics of getting them on the water 😂.

That would be soo good and I bet the kids will love it. We’ve not used many paddle boards but we have used ours in a lake, the river and the sea and would rate these because they’re wide and chunky so super stable. Our friend has a cheaper smaller and thinner one and just kept tipping over out at sea 😂. It was fun to watch but not something I’d want if I had all my gear on me 😆
@nicroams Noted - I need a sturdy one😆. My balance sucks at the best of times, let alone towing a kiddo along with me 🤣

@nicroams it should take a good day taking steady but downside is that I have take a look on what time the tide (SEA) is out cause there's a part of the I river Is only about 20miles inland from the sea so there's only time of day which you are aloud to use the river to go on for about 30 minutes up the main river to turn down another river towards Cambridge... I've done journey once before but I took my time and kept on stopping every so often as it was bad head wind

I don't think swans have ducklings! They are cygnets. Unless they have interbreed. Great that you rescued the sheep. I dont know how you can sit on your legs all that time, really tiring. Take care.
You’re right, but we still just call them ducklings 😂. It was a killer but more fun than anything so totally worth the adventure 🙌🏼

How do you find a place to leave your van for 7 days
My (Sam’s) parents live nearby to where we started, so we could leave it there whilst completing the trip :), if you’re planning something similar, you could ask your final campsite to leave it with them.
