I like these gratuitous speculations... "...a man that if not for his injury would have been a great champion"... insinuating that he "could have been" better then the top 3... "if"
For starters Juan is a hell of a player. No doubt. But before he started to get injured he never managed to "really" win anyway.
The fact is that Juan Martin Del Potro... has a single Grand Slam winning in his whole career. And if Juan would be crippled by heavy series injuries he would have stopped to play tennis a long time ago... his injuries started to afflict him in the 2019 season, and he still plays.
Besides that Juan Martin Del Potro is 7 years younger than Federer. And his problem (like Murray's) is that to compete at high level and on the level of the top 3 you had to be not only good but exceptional. Juan Martin is a magnificent and a hell of a good player, but the level of game that the top 3 imposed for 3 generations of players was what blew him like so many others along the way.
Federer never "what"?... do you think that Juan ever affected Federer's career???... Clearly not. Juan is more than "forgiven" and both are good friends....
But a proper title wouldn't work as click bait for your "channel tennis" wannabe... right?🤣

what a stupid title. Federer of course did not forget neither the man, Del Potro, nor the US final that he think he should have won and would have added much to his career... (though now I think he probably regrets more the final he lost in Wimbledon against Djokovic after 2 consecutive match points on his serve...). But this has anyways nothing to do with forgiveness or disliking the man as Del Potro is in fact a VERY nice, humble and decent man, great professional and the classic "gentle giant". You really cannot dislike him and I am sure Roger never did.

When they both get in the groove they just are hitting bombs against each other. Wawrinka is the same way.
