  • In this video, we're going to show you how to take your character animations to the next level with Blender Drivers.
    Drivers are very useful but not often used. I will show you the basics of drivers, how to set them up, and how I use them in my own projects to create really cool character animations in Blender 3D

    Drivers is a great way to go! I've been dying to do this muppet effect too, but I only considered using mocap or live mouse recording. Thanks for making this!!

    It be cool to see you do a follow along vid for your ghost character in your logo. With maybe some unique features like legs or Disney hands for animation.

    Great video. Just learning about drivers and looking forward to using them. I’ve noticed professional animators do not use rotational constraints on their armatures. I’ve asked other animators, and they all simply said they don’t use them because they don’t want to limit the range of their characters motion. Based on your video, I’m assuming they use controllers, with range limitations, to avoid unwanted stretching, and distortions. Would that be a true assumption?

      @GhostStudiosAnimation  Před 17 dny

      Yeah it depends on the part and type of rig. You're likely to add constraints on facial armatures, and less likely to use them on arms and shoulders.

      Definitely going to be using this technique. Would love to see a tutorial or even breakdown/overview of making your puppet model in this video. I've been trying to model a muppet/puppet type character for a while now and just can't seem to get it how I want it. A video to help would be great.

    I have one question for you
    To create the animation you just insert a location keyframe on the empty ?

  • @nadaart386
    @nadaart386 Před 7 měsíci +1

    How do you simulate the body movement of the puppet? Like his hand and body following his head

  • @juliettegoyard820
    @juliettegoyard820 Před 6 měsíci

    Hey ! Thanks for the video, for the location, did you connect the driver to the armature directly ? and same question for the mouth I don’t understand how it can open and close with the driver ? :)

    • @GhostStudiosAnimation
      @GhostStudiosAnimation  Před 6 měsíci

      I connected the driver to the base bone of the armature and the shape key of the mouth:)
