Some like metal, some like country, some like classical..............there is a genre that trips each of us in a way that is pleasing to themselves. Lara Fabian does it for me - you cannot deny her vocal technical prowess, her breath control, her tonal quality, her story telling........... for me, anyway, Lara Fabian is the Ultimate Artist...........
I must have lived in a cave the last 25 years....only just discovered Lara.... without doubt the best female singer and live performer on the planet
#1. The answer to your question is #1. The best female vocalist, stage performer and storyteller of All Time. Also one the best human beings on the planet.
For me Lara has something that many singers don't have. She is magnetic!
You can't rate her with the others. She is in a class by herself, light years above all the rest.
She is in a class of her own. Just hits all of the buttons. Beautiful voice and performance.
This is a rendition she made at the JUNO awards, the canadian equivalent of the grammies.
This song made Lara a star in Brazil when it was used in the soundtrack of a famous local soap opera called Laços de Familia.
It topped the brazilian charts for a few months and she was invited in all major brazilian tv shows.
Then the song became a recurrent in almost every single brazilian singer contests, the ultimate song to prove your vocal power.
So a lot of brazilian covers including a famous recent one from Gabriel Henrique.
But Lara’s version is untouchable and remains the absolute reference.

I said her version and not the original because Love by Grace is in fact a cover she made of a country song by Wynona Judd. But it was completely revisited as a ballad for Lara and Lara’s version is the one that made it a success WW.
After this brazil tour, to thanks her brazilian fans who received her as a queen, she translated one of her most famous french hits in portuguese: "Si tu m’aimes" became "Meu grande amor". It was used again for another soap opera titled "O Clone" and became another big hit in Brazil 😀

This song was a HUGE hit in Brazil! It even got a Portuguese version. It played so much on the radio that year that I couldn't stand listening to it anymore. 😂😂
But it's a beautiful song and Lara Fabian is an incredible singer.

I always enjoy your heartfelt reactions. Keep up the great work. I am glad you are on the Lara Fabian journey. Some other suggestions are I Will Love Again, To Love Again, Madamoiselle Hyde, Vision of Love(Mariah Carey song) and Dites Moi Pourquoi Je L'Aime(Tell me why do i love Him).
In terms of vocal skills she is for sure among the bests. She is number #1 on some of these (eg phrasing and resonance).
In terms of vocal tone, she is my number 1 but this is purely personal taste.
In terms of emotions conveying and storytelling she is second-to-none, simply the best ever. No one comes even close (maybe Eva Cassidy in a very different way).
Then add to this her songwriting skills in several languages, which is very rare.
And also if you check her deliverables as a vocal coach, she is simply extraordinary, unlocking new abilities from her students. It recently was exposed again in her masterclass to Star Academy France in January.
But there are more: now consider her humble caring down-to-earth empathetic spiritual personality.
As opposed to some of the divas that are disdainful and haughty, or some other that even contractually request that hotel staff does not look her in the eyes, she loves to meet and spend times with others.
She is known for instance to say hello to all people in a room, giving the same attention and importance to everyone, no matter his role and position.
She is also known to be very positive and inspirational, while having been challenged by life in the most hardest ways.
Indeed, she is a survivor, highly resilient after having come back from love and professional betrayals, and on the health side having recovered from eating disorders, heart attack, liver cancer, earplug accident that left her deaf for weeks, loss of a baby, accompanying the last days of her beloved mother suffering from Dementia with Lewy Bodies,....
For all these reasons, and to sum it up, she is the best ever. As an artist and probably one of the best ever as a human being as well.
This also explains why she has a very dedicated fan base WW.
My favourite female singer without a doubt! She sings with so much emotion and passion! Go and see her in concert - she is still amazing at 50! She will be in Budapest on 30th April. Guest what - Dimash will be having his concert there 4 days later on 4th May! Try and make it if you can. I will definitely be going!

The reason she is not well known in the USA is a politic one from Sony music who had sign her for 2 albums in late 1990s, Sony was under pressure from the group representing one of their Divas to not promote her, they complied. She still sold more than 3 million albums from the first one, the second english album was unreleased in the USA, but from 2009-2019 she was Russia and all the former Soviet Union contries the number 1 female signer, same in Brasil , mid asia, and French nations, She also made the grand opening of the Asia winter games in 2012 in front of 90,000 peoples, today, she is starting a world Tour from april 2024 til december 2025 , the Queen Lara is very alive...and well. I am in vacation and returning mid april, then i will send you 4 unreleased english songs from her 2nd album, you will fall off your chair, be ready... loll
I adore No Show. And, just FYI, If this is one of the 4, it was recorded in 1999 so a few years before the second english album.
I also heard that after pressure from the other artist signed to Sony (let's just name her--Céline Dion) Sony put her into dance music rather than ballad and romantic music, so as not to compete with Celine, who feared she would become a bigger star then she was, and I believe she would have. I don't care for Céline Dion, but Lara is one of my all-time favorite female singers.
@@fredbloggs6080 yes they tried to push Lara on this lane to reserve it to this other diva, and because there was an inflection’in the US public taste.
Her song "I will love again" was a huge pop dance hit, staying #1 in US Club Dance billboard during 58 weeks.
But this was not her. As a woman they tried to transform her body and she declined. As a songwriter she did not feel it neither, so they broke and Sony not only abruptly stopped all promotion, but also contractually blocked her in the US as she was not allowed to be promoted there thru another channel.
Lara became her own producer, refocused on Europe and Asia and followed her own authentic artistic lane.
@@ericsicard910 Because I didn't follow dance music I wasn't aware of her dance hit, but I actually only first heard of her around 2011 when she wrote new lyrics in French for the melody of Broken Vow for Jackie Evancho's song Imaginer.

There are good reasons why we didn't hear about her back in the 90s. Something to do with Celin Dion.
96,000 people packing the Melbourne Cricket Ground each night for this Swift girl - can't remember NOT ONE of Swifts songs and couldn't pick her voice from a teenage high school singer anywhere. Crazy world. Swift wouldn't make support act in the 60s 70s 80s 90s Lara Fabian well that is a different tale - the best acts are USUALLY not the most popular of course.
Once again, back around this time Celine Dion and Sony records boycotted Lara's music in the US and other places because Celine and her people was so threatened by Lara's voice, popularity and pure raw talent. I lost all respect for Celine because of this and I and many others were deprived of her music and voice for over a couple decades until I found her by chance on the internet just a couple years ago.
