    Rob, nice demo of this unit. So 1 year later are you still using the ugly box or have you moved onto another better system? How long dis those clips, thrasher, brush last before replacing them? and lastly what is the brine solution made of? thanks

    • @TheHistoryDigger1
      @TheHistoryDigger1  Před 2 lety

      Thx. Yes still use a few times a year. Have only had to replace the clips snd still have plenty of the brine mix left. I think it is a salt mix of some type not sure.

  • @Buckleboy
    @Buckleboy Před 2 lety

    Galvanic coupling would’ve worked just as well with less damage to the coin (which obviously looks cooked) than polishing with steel wool etc. I’m not sold on these. Super low level electrolysis I’ve used to remove green crud from silvers but it needs to be low and very slow and there are never any guarantees

    Does the ugly box come with the two attachments? Looks really cool! One thing I've been doing which I don't know if it good or not is rubbing my coins with olive oil. It brightens them up and shows some details.

    • @TheHistoryDigger1
      @TheHistoryDigger1  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes mine came with the two attachments. I also use some olive oil but more on my copper coins. (Agree it does seem to brighten them up. Thanks for watching and commenting.)

The builder of the Ugly Box, Frank, is one of the group's founders - would PM him with the specific item size/metal to be sure.
