What i like to tell myself when i start to feel paranoid is that no one has ever dies because they watched a horror movie. If people were getting haunted or killed en mass after watching a horror movie, it would be on the news

That's what I tell myself too. When I'm walking to the kitchen and the lights are off I think scary things and I realize nobody has ever died from a horror movie and I live with more than one person so I could just scream and there would be a whole family against maybe 1 demon or something and if I go missing then I would be on the news and i just keep telling my self that.

"based of a true story"usually means either the characters were based of real people, or they blew a story out of proportion and added "dEmOnS" and a cRaZy FaMiLy.
The Veronica movie was actually based on a real thing and now whenever i think about it i cant sleep
@@fyzhardy I've watched it. It's fake lol don't worry. They say that to try scare you (obviously). Maybe some bits are true, but the scary spirit ghost demon scary bits are all fake and added in. Don't worry about it.
Another tip that really helps is learning about film techniques and storytelling techniques (and especially tropes. Tropes aren't bad in itself, but if you know a lot of them, you can spot them happening right at that very moment, lessening the impact)

Guys, also make sure to google the actors and actrices who play the demon, killer, spirit or anything scary. Every time their face appears you can think of the image you saw on google of the normal person who plays the creepy character.

How i don't get jumpscared is by LISTENING for the sound to increase tension before the scare,
(Ex: Complete silence)
thus noticing me to a incoming scare attempt. This for me anyway actually makes me excited after the "scare" and of course the commentary kicks in

I’ve seen quite a few horror movies with some of them being considered the scariest movies ever made. Some of these include: When A Stranger Calls 2006, Halloween 1978 (that one didn’t scare me at all if I’m being honest), Nightmare On Elm Street 1984 & 2010, about 3/4 of the 2009 My Bloody Valentine, all the Scream movies (those are actually my all time favourite movies), etc. Nightmare On Elm Street was probably the creepiest movie I’ve seen. The movies I recently got curious about and want to watch are the IT movies but I heard they’re scary as hell. Nightmare On Elm Street doesn’t seem to bother me (I’ve watched movie clips from the other movies as well), Halloween doesn’t bother me, Scream (as I’ve said, I’ve seen every single one of those movies and I’ve seen them multiple times so those obviously don’t bother me), I’ve seen clips from the Friday The 13th movies and those don’t bother me. I want to see the IT movies so it’d be nice to be able to get through those without being terrified.

They say often that take sound off and its not going to be that sensible. Thats true with most movies. But Horror is simply picture and sound combined, sure it takes a lot off but still has something in picture. Thats why i just pause the picture to not see horrific things with editing tricks that scares your eye.

Thanks to these videos and watching the behind the scenes and watching clips of the movies beforehand, I finally saw the IT movies.... Absolutely loved them. My tip is to watch the movie during the day and watch something else that isn't scary afterwards. That's what I do and it seems to work for me. Also, watch the kill counts before and that'll help as well. Pennywise is one creepy ass clown but he's one of the coolest horror villains I've ever seen. Scream is my number one favourite horror series of all time but IT is a close second now. Definitely recommend watching those movies. They're awesome.

@comfortidris210 My tip is to watch the behind the scenes to the movies to make them less scary. Read about Bill Skarsgard (he's the one who plays Pennywise in the new movies). I watched a few of his interviews before I watched the movies. Also, watch a comedy or something less scary to take your mind off the movies. Did you just watch chapter 1 or did you watch chapter 2 as well? Or was it the old movie you watched? And remember it's not real. It's just a movie. Everyone in the movie are actors. They we're paid to be in the movie. Also, not sure how old you are but I would say the IT movies are too scary for younger people so if you're really young and you've only seen one of the movies and it scared you that bad, I'd wait until you're older to watch the ones you haven't seen.
