I always wanted to do multiple sets of tests. Great Job!
So 3 tests make sense!
1. Before windows and such
2. After windows & doors, and
3. Prior to formal test with HERS guys

Am excellent idea to test at each major phase so you know which component is creating the air leak. Blower door tests aren’t cheap, but if you as a builder has the door to do your own test (rather than needing to contract it out to a HVAC guy) it makes way more sense and also probably helps you justify the cost of buying your own blower door as a builder.

IIRC, the ACH50 number came from it being roughly equivalent to the static pressure differential developed by ~20mph wind speed blowing on the exterior of a home.

The only thing I take on this is it becomes just a trend. In my opinion I d like to keep Tyveck or another well tested semipermeable system and improve the vapour barrier for better air tightening

So are you meaning to imply that when you build a home you do not cut in all of your window and door rough openings until you’re ready to actually install windows? Hell I can’t even get contractors here to properly use housewrap before the windows and doors go in.

According to Joe, not only was the 50 because he did have a bigger fan, but you air out because it was winter in Canada and he didn’t want to blow the cold air in.
