The world is sleeping on this band. New album is beautiful.
Great rec and reaction. The “World” may be sleeping on TTB but through *years* of hard gigging and sheer musicianship they’ve managed to carve out a sizable audience, esp in this (AM)-radio playlist-dominated world. Plus they pretty much have universal admiration from other gigging musicians. Sometimes quality do break through!
I agree! Love the new album. HUGE fan here!
Just saw them last night in Orlando…was AMAZING!!! 🔥
@@Pilot545 Going to see them with my youngest 34 y/o son on March 2! Can't wait!
I read the 2000 year old story it's based on called Layla and Majnun. It's amazing, also!
Susan has one of my favorite tones. 💜💜💜
Best band on the planet...and it ain't even close....
It's a shame this kind of music isn't the most appreciated
I had the tremendous pleasure of meeting Susan in Boston during her tour following her "Rock Me Right" smash hit. Such a regular and down-to-earth person. No pretense, no celebrity attitude. Just Susan.
It's been a pleasure to watch her career. My wife and I have now seen Tedeschi Trucks many, many times. I must admit that my all-time favorite is the cover of "Angel from Montgomery."
Their newest stuff is *awesome* .... do yourself a favor and check it out.
Derek Trucks, is the best Slide Guitarist today.
Best band on the planet!
Greatest band in the land!
Fantastic band and good people.
Derek Trucks is a genius!
you have just been privileged to hear the greatest slide player on the planet
One of the back up singers penned this tune. I was privileged to see this band...they are remarkable, talented, and polished. Innovative, classic and original...
Derek Trucks is Butch Trucks' nephew. Swear he's channeling Duane Allman sometimes. Susan's vocals are a slice of heaven.
Thanks for covering this piece.
You can truly feel when a band is deep into the music, and it flows within their souls. No dancers, no twerking, no fireworks, just big soul.
I agree. Have a wonderful weekend Clifton.
I saw the Tedeschi Trucks Band at 'The Palladium' in London in November 2022 - they were amazing.
I first heard Susan doing solo Back to the River! Amazing and you will love it!
Derek Trucks is one of the all-time best slide guitar players out there. When they played this year at Byron Bay Bluesfest they were the one band Taj Farrant's dad he was slightly tongue tied to meet. I love that 15 yr old Taj Farrant played this same festival and was drawing the large audiences too. The kid (15) is going to be one of the all-time ever greats. Love this song!!!
This is right now the best touring band in the world
Stunning musicianship😃😎
Best slide guitarist around right now. Have seen these guys twice and they are unbelievable live 13 pc band tearing up the place. Tight and talented Susan can sing the phone book and this is just a taste of what Derek can do. They come to your town people it's a must see!!!!!
Two Drummers. Grateful Dead and Allman Brothers Band. Takes BIG DRUMS to really get the BEAT. 🎶👽😎❤️
All slide, al song from Derek. One of the Greatest guitarist of all time.
This band live is unbelievable.
I think Derek Trucks is the finest slide player alive.
Merry Christmas y’all 🎄
Merry Christmas!!
💯 %
100%!!!!!!!!.... BY FAR......
No matter who your #1 is, Derek Trucks is on the slide guitar Mount Rushmore.
@@Tijuanabill absolutely!
Fellas, you are listening and watching the greatest slide guitar player in the world at the moment Mr Derik Trucks
This is a MUST SEE LIVE band! They tour often and sound amazing! Susan is only overshadowed by Derek. Both top rated guitars players!
DT just showin off and showin out.
when it was time to wind down my baby grandson and I would listen to this ....
Arguably the world's best slide player.saw him quite a few times with the Allmans.
My late bro-in-law (RIP Richard) turned me on to Susan Tedesci way back in the early 90's. It was truly ordained by the God of music for these two to end up together...match made in blues heaven.
No one can sit still when they play this song....effin awesome music...
This band is one of the best bands to catch live: phenomenal musicians.
Derek Trucks. As a young boy, student and protege of Duane Allman...Derek Trucks tutor of John Mayer.
What a linage.... Allman to Trucks to Mayer...
Beautiful...Cheers
🍄🌲🍄✨💥🌈
Written by Mike Matthison, the back up singer on the right. Tuh-DESK-eee. I think that was Duane Allman's guitar Derek was playing there. Derek played for the Allmans in the later years and also toured with Eric Clapton. Susan won a grammy on her own as a solo artist. The album this song is off also won a grammy. More TTB please. They are like the only band I go see live anymore.
That note Derek hits around 7:02 that sounds like a sigh is just one of a million reasons why he's a genius
I've seen these folks three times. So much to enjoy!
When those to met and fell in love they decided to combine their bands. She's no slouch on the guitar either. Great bass player and keys.
Have seen them twice and highly recommend y'all go check them out the next time they're out your way. You won't be disappointed.
Derek Trucks was the slide player for the Allman Brothers from 1999 to 2014 when they retired.... The bass player was the bass player Otel Burborge for the Allman brothers band through the same time period. The concert is Eric Clapton's Crossroad guitar festival from Chicago.... Derek played side for Eric in his sets at the festival also. Duane Allman is Derek's idol...
This tune falls all over you like a warm blanket...comfort music. Great reaction!
You are watching the embodiment of the spirit of the late great Duane Allman. Derek grew up around the Allman Bros Band as his uncle Butch was a founding member as one of the drummers. By the time Derek was old enough to play he took to the slide like it was meant to be. By 11 he was playing during the breaks at the Allman Bros. concerts. I have a link to one of those. He got a Gibson SG for his 10th birthday and was rarely seen with out it around his neck practicing. Derek is considered to be the best slide player today. He wouldn't say so because, while confident in his playing, his sincere humility would never let him say so. When Derek and Susan got together their schedules were so all over the place that Susan said we got married so we could date. They soon combined their bands the collection of players were given the choice of staying or if they had another idea they could go. But the door was always open to return.
Susan possesses one of the best female Blues voices going and the pair make a bangin' Blues couple.
czcams.com/video/MLQTbmUYI4A/video.html Derek at 11 playing for the concert goers during at big band break.
czcams.com/video/jkh6bB_2SGQ/video.html Derek at 11-12 playing as lead guitar for Derek and the Dominators.
czcams.com/video/-Iq1xw8-Pt/video.html Derek at 13 playing with the Allman Bros Band 'One Way Out'.
The girl can SANG! That is all.
The guitar player is Derek and started playing in the Allman Brothers band at 9 and is one of the players of all time by Rolling Stone magizine and even Eric Clapton gave him a blank check and told him to just put a number in it to come on the road with him
Looking at that Yankees lid, Derek’s great uncle, Virgil “Fire” Trucks was a major league pitcher with pretty good numbers:
2× All-Star (1949, 1954)
2× World Series champion (1945, 1960)
MLB strikeout leader (1949)
Pitched two no-hitters
He retired in 1958 as a Yankee
You just watched the best band prior the Covid. And the greatest slide guitarist alive.
Best live band out there. And Derek is the best slide player since Duane
No need to qualify it. Derek is the best guitar player, slide or otherwise, period.
Tedeschi Trucks band is awesome, Derek Truck was playing with the Allman Brothers when he was a kid. Also look into Government Mule, they're also in the Allman brother family, and in the band.
I have seen them several times live, and Derek can actually make me cry with that beautiful slide work.
I agree, a must see live band. Have seen them 2x at The Ryman in Nashville..the Mother Church..was the best!😊
Dereks' solo at the end is just like a whole Allman Brothers concert was like. It's Transportational!!
Derrick was playing on stage with Eric Clapton and BB King when he was 13 years old. Said to be the best slide guitar player alive. Susan had a solo career before she and Derrick married. You’ll love their music!
Back in the day, I got to see him take the stage with Buddy Guy at Legend's for a couple songs. Don't recall the year, but I recall Derek was 15 yo. Seeing him up close was pretty amazing. His slide hand was like watching a hummingbird! Keep traveling this road, so much great stuff out there that ppl write off. 🤙
Best band touring today
Any band with 2 drummers gets my attention!
Derek trucks, a phenomenal guitar player and disciple of Duane Allman on the slide, who has added an Indian slant to his slide playing which is absolutely beautiful.
Another song You might want to hear is the Bonnie raitt John Lee Hooker song.... I'm in the mood, I'm in the mood for love.
Love that sly smile from Susan Tedeschi while Derek is wailing on the slide. "Look mom, no hands!"
One of the beautiful thing about Derek Trucks solo on this song , which , though the theme of it & the build up he does is the same , but it's always a bit different every time he plays it Live . Now THAT is Pure Talent .
I have seen them a few times. They blow the roof off whenever they play. One of my favorite bands. Susan Tedeschi is the beautiful mix of Janis Joplin and Bonnie Raitt 👍🎵🎶❤️
Keep listening to your subscribers, guys. This is beautiful music.
Live this a fantastic show.... You've got a never ending source of music in your subscribers ... I hate to speak for others here, but most of us love that you guys love this music...
Absolutely , seeing an open mindedness to “New” music...I wonder if it will somehow change how they produce.
This is an older video. Mike Mattison, backup singer, wrote this song and is one of Susan Tedeschi's favorites. Kofi Burbridge on keys has since passed away (2019) from complications from a previous heart surgery,RIP Kofi. His brother on bass, Oteil, now plays with Dead and Company. I think this song is amongst their best work, especially Derek's solo at the end of the song. Thanks for reacting.
I am so stoked. The stars aligned and I have tickets to see them this summer in a great outdoor venue in Milwaukee.
I first heard about Derek Trucks when he was playing clubs in Florida, when he was 12. Started seeing Derek Trucks Bands shows in Atlanta around 2004. Then he and Susan started doing shows called The Soul Stew Revival, so I started going to those shows. That become The Tedeschi-Trucks Band, and of course I started seeing those shows over the years. They just keep getting better with every phase they come up with. Derek is easily the best guitar player out touring today. Yeah, bring on more TTB.
Derek Trucks is thE premier slide guitarist of this generation, also was a member the Allman brothers
Beautiful summers evening great band and fantastic song…HEVEN 🇬🇧☘️
Saw them in London in November, they were great.
No matter how many times I have listened to this song....im always ready to listen again....
His slide play, and particularly his play when he isn't playing slide, but still is playing a guitar tuned to play slide, boggles the mind of a mere mortal. When you tune like that, everything but slide is so wrongly placed, for the human hand....it's just genius to watch him do it.
This is by far the most sublime live recording of the last 40 years in my opinion! I could listen to it on a loop for the rest of my days!
Mr. Trucks, was on stage with John Mayer and MR. B.B. KING, and MR. King said that Derek Trucks -was the GREATEST SLIDE GUITARIST, he’d ever heard--! NUF SAID?
TTB is the best band out there. Check other live performances- Susan is a queen
Seen em loads.
RIp Kofi what a player.
Also love Otiel
Love from England
"Anyhow" - Tedeschi Trucks Band Live in Studio. Your soul will thank you!
It's a pretty good track. Hard not to like it. Makes the heart feel good. Joy?
Listen to her solo stuff from the 90s too. Especially her version of Junior Wells' classic Little by Little. Her voice is a little huskier now after she had some throat trouble a while back. Her singing when she was younger was really smooth. It's not that it's bad now, but I grew up with her 90s stuff when there were a lot of young blues women coming in. Angela Strehli, Marcia Ball, Lou Ann Barton, Joanna Conner, the late great Eva Cassidy ... I had just come to this country and getting into Blues then.
I got tiks for their April Fool's show. Can't wait!
If you liked that one, wait until you hear " Bound for Glory live" then you will see something. They are a fantastic group.
Bass player was killing it, beautiful!
I think Derek was like 14 when he first played with the Allman Brothers Band. He's an amazing guitarist.
Saw them in London years ago. This particular song/video is a favourite, played often. Susan one of the best voices out there.
Derek Trucks was touring with the Allman’s when he was 13 and played with Eric Clapton on Lala
🙋🏻♂️🍀 never heard of ‘em …absolutely fantastic band and the woman lead singer is S O U L F U L L 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I subscribed 😊
Portland Oregon USA 🇺🇸
You guys would absolutely love “ I pity the fool” live. Susie goes off on a solo. Worth checking out.
Thanks guys ! I see them every year at Chicago theater. They are Fantastic Live ! Chicago Love 👍
Their best track - killa!
Derek started playing gigs with the Allman Bros at age 13 and became a full time band member at 19.
Derek is featured on the jazz Great McCoy Tyner album "Guitars" with Ron Carter and Jack DeJohnette. The CD comes with a DVD of the recording sessions so its basically watching the recording live in the studio. Good review bros.
Absolute Masters of their craft. 🙌🏽🥰
love this video. Can't until you hear "Anyhow" live in the studio
Susan kills That Did It and many other's. This band did a LIVE performance of the Derek and The Domino's album Layla on the 50th anniversary of the release in 71
I love this song
Beautiful song!
You would love her on 'I Pitty the Fool'!
I had this up so loud I could smell that Soldano Amp lol! Thanks, gentlemen ♥
Can’t wait for you guys to get after Playing for Change version of When the Levee Breaks! Susan and Derek are just a few of the great musicians and singers featured on the video! Love all you reactions!
I second someone else’s comment re listening to Do I Look Worried to You - Susan blew me away and that’s the song that fully converted me 🤯🙌
THANK YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great reaction... A great band .. Great vocals and Mr Trucks always kills it ....
Glad you’re doing these guys! Man I love Derek Trucks; what a gifted artist. And Susan’s got SOUL. You might want to check out “Anyhow (Live in Studio)” by them.
The Tiny Desk Concerts version of Anyhow is brilliant, as well.
@@kdbadk thanks, I’ll check it out! :)
Watching Derek Trucks is an experience. It's as if there's a partnership between him and his guitar.
Yes! Derek’s brother plays in Widespread Panic..you guys would love..try “red hot mama” its a parliament cover
You should listen to The Sky Is Crying from this band This woman can sing so good They can play the blues just as good as anyone
Great Band live. I saw them 3 times last year, already have two trips planed so far this year. I would listen to Susan sing the phone book. I am the Moon is a great 4 disc set.
Awesome. There's a video out there with Derek at around 10 years old playing with the Allman Brothers Band.
They've been around a long time. The drummer on left side of stage is from my hometown.
