What more does Trent have to do for people to stop questioning his role in the team? Amorim would definitely adjust his system, and don't forget that Trent has already changed and adapted his position over the years. He'll stay and he'll be wonderful.

It feels like its forcing interactions. The apparent reason Trent can't be RWB is because he wants to come central. So that means the suggestion would be a proper right-footed wing-back, right? No, he said Antonee Robinson for RWB, a left-footed left back, who has never played anywhere but the left flank.
There's no reason at all Trent wouldn't return to a RWB role and start getting more assists again, or even shift the formation to create a 3-3-4 when the LWB pushes up and gets Trent into the middle.

Trent is literally perfect for that RWB role, he’s a similar player to Grimaldo. Not the best defender, not the fastest. But his creativity, his passing ability and his vision are what makes him so good for that position.

If the club let Trent go it will be one of the worst mistakes they have ever made up there with wanting to join the super league. Trent has everything it takes to become this Liverpools generation Steven Gerrard. Granted hes not the same player as Gerrard but in terms of where hes from, the club he supported as a kid, how unique he is as a player and the fact hes been made vice captian (which indicates when Virgil is done he will be next Captain). To sell your next legend because a manager cant fit him into the plans would be horrible. Every manager in the world would dream of having a player with the talent of Trent and I firmly believe no matter who comes in will and should partly build the team around his abilities.

Suddenly people forgot what Trent Alexander-Arnold did on the field and how much of an impact he had on the Liverpool era...???
If I had to choose between Amorim and Arnold, it would definitely be Trent.
Trent is a player that the playing system can be built on and a player that cannot be replaced
    .
The world of football has many options for coaches to choose from
    (Zidane - Flick - Nagelsmann - Tuchel - Inzaghi...etc)
    Regarding the transfer market:-
    Liverpool's current lineup needs...
1- A defender who plays with his left foot
    chwilil- Inacio Hincapie
    2- Attacking left winger
    💫 With Morton back
Fabio Carvelho and Sepp van de Berg are on loan
Also working to raise the quality of the Liverpool Youth Academy because the development of talent has no limit, and the higher the quality of Liverpool players, the first team will benefit greatly.

Also with this same Trent Alexander-Arnold
Liverpool was able to win the Champions League title
We lost the league by a point twice
What do you think of Trent’s level at the beginning of the season before the injury...???
Brazilian Marcelo, when he was at his peak, had the same problems as Arnold, excellent offensively and bad defensively, and during his period and era he could not be abandoned.
What reduced his mistakes was the presence of Ramos, Varane and Casemiro in coverage
Now Liverpool is playing a similar role
      With Konate, Wandou and McAllister
Don't just look at the negative side
Trent can also play in midfield
Let's wait and see the limits and creativity of the new coach's thinking

  • @ErlendFlatin
    @ErlendFlatin Před 2 měsíci +17

It's not like Trent evolving into a more inverted full-back is because he stopped wanting to or being able to play a wider role. They started pushing Trent more central only after the period where we were at our most dominant, when the legs of players like Hendo and Fabinho started going. So there is isn't any reason for why he can't adapt back wide, into Amorim's system

Understanding the values of the club is the most important part of managing Liverpool otherwise you won't get going, after that comes the rest of ones ability to build on, it's completely different to many other clubs. Trent represents the heart of being Scouse and flying the flag for the locals, combined with his talent style of play doesn't come into it . Klopp understands the importance of the emotional dynamics of the club, not everything is systematically logical, we've won tournaments on passion that other teams would give anything to be able to create.

Next season we'll have 11 midfielders to fit into 2 midfield positions with Amorim's 343... The hybrid role is an inside forward / CAM role which would be a downgrade for Szobo as Klopp has turned him into a complete midfielder wearing the no. 8. Also Jones, Gravenberch, Clark all fit Szobo's current position well. Top CL sides don't start with a back 3 plus 2 wing backs. Amorim's Sporting lost 5-0 to City with their 343 before Sporting sold their top players and had just 34% avg possession. How can you maintain posession against a 3 man midfield with a 532 ? Honestly Amorim needs to change if he comes to Liverpool, Klopp did. I don't think Amorim's 343 in the Premier League or Champions League will work, it's a strategy for teams looking to finish in the top 10 of the PL like Bournemouth.
Also small details like Amorim builds out from the back using a 2422 structure and vertical lines whereas Alonso has taught his team to avoid standing in a vertical line so players do not have their back to goal and instead uses a strategy of diagonality. It's details like this that will keep you at the top. If we want to be top, Amorim maybe needs help like Klopp has had in Buvac, Krawietz, Ljinders.

I think Trent could fill the right wing back role well. I don't want us to overrely on Bradley while he's so young, and I think the pair of them could be really strong. Also, I'd hate to see Szoboslai on the bench, I think he could be valuable as a false nine or winger, if we shifted Lucho to the left wing back role, and filled the nine and left winger slot between Nuñez and Szoboslai. If Amorim is a possession focused coach, it would be a shame to cut minutes for Diáz or Szoboslai-I think they might be our best ball carriers.

I get what you are saying about Trent and his fit within the system, if that is the system that is adopted. I'm not too sure it will be mainly because so far, no big team has been able to have long term success with the 3 at the back. Yes Conte won the league that one year but beyond that, he didn't exactly have a load of amazing success in the PL.
Any manager who takes over will need the fans on his side because I think Liverpool might struggle a bit at the start. Selling Trent as the first thing you do plus struggling will lead to mutiny amongst the fans. All the managers we want aren’t going to play a 433. Alonso plays 3-4-2-1, Amorim plays 3-4-3, Inzaghi plays 3-5-2, Nagelsmann plays 3-4-3. Some of those guys are more flexible on formation than others, but it’s basically inevitable that they’re not going to just continue Klopp’s 4-3-3. I hope the manager adapts to our players to some extent and I really hope that-although he may be more possession based-he maintains a style that is at least more intense and direct than Pep for example, since I don’t want that to leave entirely with Jürgen. Despite what we may want, we must accept as fans that the success of the team and the successful application of a new system must come before any individual players or any appeal to how things used to be.

@@fathalli1 yes but he’s saying it like he was able to do what he normally could, he wasn’t able to make runs up the pitch, make quick sprints past attackers or defend to the best of his ability cus he had no acceleration, he’s played as a traditional right back quite a few times late in games we’re winning for example and he’s done it well

  • @AaronUlixes

Trent’s best position for Liverpool especially if Amorim arrives would be the inside forward position. He has enough defensive nous to help press as a forward player and with his technical skills he can play any area in the pitch. The move would be similar to Gareth Bale’s for Tottenham a few years back. It’s better for Liverpool to sell Salah rather than Trent because Trent still has his best years ahead of him whereas Salah is quickly approaching the time to sell him.
Inacio looks ideal because defenders would be needed plus options to cover are needed. 6 CB minimum needed though some should be promising youngsters like Quansah. A RWB would be necessary as cover for Bradley and a 6/8 hybrid who specialises more in the 6 position. I’d likely sell Diaz, especially if he wants to leave, and bring in Evan Ferguson in for the long-term. Liverpool have loads of players who can play the midfield and forward positions. Szoboszlai can play as an inside forward or in CM. Same for Jones and maybe Elliot. McAllister, Endo, Bajcetic and new MF would means plenty of options both tactically, injuries and playing in a busy schedule.
Amorim would likely succeed in his first season winning a trophy or two while adapting to the demands of English football. By his second season Guardiola may have left in high case the Premier League is a realistic prospect.

Anton and Estupinan are left footed LB and have already play their football there, so none will switch to right flank and Trent will be in Amorim's team, he's likely to tweak his system and play Trent as an inverted wingback, similar to Grimaldo role at Leverkusen

i am worried he’ll mess up our midfield for now and the future, him playing with just the 2 natural 8’s means mac allister, endo and szobozslai will play in midfield and all the others will almost never get a game like curtis, gravenberch and bajcetic so we could sell one of those due to the excess of players then the next manager could revert to wanting 3.

Like you said, we are just talking like we are in a pub - throwing in ideas, however outlandish. Trent will not go. His playing time can be reduced, but he is a local boy who is elite and that is not a guy you dump to address a fickle change in formations. Hughes and Edwards are smart enough to know how to handle this, and it does not involve offloading Trent.

I should think if he comes he will adapt his tactics to the players he has rather than stick to the same and offload talent. As a coach you play with the cards you are dealt , and as you rise the cards get a bit better and you can expand the tactics or make them clearer. It is why Pep looks great as he has most of the players he wants for nearly all the positions, but occasionally you get found out so why sell a player like Trent when he allows you to play a different hand

  • @SW-by9ob
    @SW-by9ob Před 2 měsíci

He'd just play Trent as the advanced RWB as with 3 CB's his defensive limitations would be much less of an issue. Bradley has had a great few months but there is no way he's kicking Trent out of the starting lineup once fully fit, especially with Trent's current contract ending in 12 months as he could essentially leave on a free in 2025 if unhappy with his role.

  • @matthew4780

If Trent gets questioned because of the defensive side of his game and Amorim wants to play with three at the back and him as a midfielder then isn't that much better for him? He's still one of the best crossers in the world, he has won everything playing wide (some people are so forgetful) and he would have only LESS defensive duties, so what's the point of that take apart from being controversial?

That is not true + its not up to him. Thats not to say Amorim wont have a say but he wont have ultimate control over the incomings and outgoings of players.

Respectively, your talk on Trent is complete nonsense. The system will be adjusted, he's undoubtedly one of the most talented and best players. I know you did it maybe for discussion but it doesn't stop it being nonsense. Endo is 30+, Jones hasn't stayed fit, Bajcetic back from long-term injury, Bradley is young and raw, Gravenberch is poor so far. There's no guarantees over any incoming manager's system but if one thing's clear, Trent is part of it. Also he's had literally 1 injury bro. 1. you're making it out like he's been ravaged by injury. Wing back or midfield, Trent is the key part of this team. If fullbacks is truly a key area, you don't get rid of literally one of the best fullbacks in the world, if not the best.

It's ok if Trent is sold as it's about the team. He's a good player and when interviewed, midfield is what he wants. Amorim style might challenge Trents natural game and its boring to repeat but he should work on all aspects of his defensive game (shadowing, jockying, positioning ... everything!) Providing assists isn't unique. But where'd goals be without them 😂
So as the team evolves and these modern young players step up who seem to be able to do it all, offensively and defensively, he comes under pressure because most managers especially playing like Amorim, like their team to be watertight. This group has even overachieved, a lot of experience went out and there's been a lot of youngsters contributing. I dont know if they win the title. But next year Liverpool will have an exciting new manager and a load of young players, champions, who've already had that experience of a strong challenge for the epl, regardless Trent staying or leaving, the team will be in a good place to challenge for a few years
