Nice how this chick is having such a good time she blows through the red light at that pedestrian walk and nearly gets greased by the speeding car ! How about showing some safety tips as well ?
I just got this exact same one. I'm a little nervous still, but with practice, it's not bad. just confusing with laws and I do not believe that where I live in Florida, I can do what this girl does. It's considered a bicycle, but strict laws apply IN ALL STATES
I have heard this model (350- 500 w) is underpowered for carrying heavier people? how is it with a passenger? I would be interestedin a long ter review. Fun video. Thanks.
After all this time are you still happy with it? Say there were some mechanical issue, could you take it to a regular mechanic? Would you take it to a bike shop? Do you seriously NEED to keep the pedals in in the US to make it legal? I'd thought they were optional. Thanks, looks awesome and I'm considering a Gio.
Actually do you remember those chariots in the ben hur film the ones that chopped people's legs off as they raced around the circuit, well you have your very own chariot to chop people's legs off with those pedals if they get in your way ha ha.
puppy cat I say the law, and those dangerous pests the police, can go fuck themselves. Those pedals look like a massive hazard. They hook on anything, like a rock, a pothole, or a door, and that can make it crash. No pedals, broken law, she's riding safely...Who the fuck is she hurting? Another stupid, victimless crime.
A company called E-Moto carry electric mopeds, without pedals. You just have to get a motorcycle license, they go over 30 mph and they also carry faster models over 60 mph, all electric.
Here are the specs on the 2014 version ... local laws may require ebikes have pedals installed and speed governed to qualify as a "bicycle", and therefore not needing insurance nor license. www.staples.ca/en/GIO-Italia-500W-Premium-Electric-Scooter-Lithium-Ion-Blue/product_580426_2-CA_1_20001#id='dropdown_2107963' The bike is rated for 150 kg (330.7 lb.) load, and can go up to 80km range on a 6-8 hour charge.
Motor controller on this bike is 17AH, so a car battery would fry it. Original battery packs are four 12V-12AH (50-60km range, 48km/h max speed), but you can get 12V-15AH replacements for extra range (70-80km). Four 12V batteries required for 48V www.batteryspecialist.ca/12v-15ah-extended-run-high-cycle-csb-battery-evh12150/
Those pedals look lethal extremely dangerous sticking out like that, have you off that bike in no time at all if you go through gaps or get a little close to the kerb. Scooter don't look to bad though and silent.
It's not a bicycle if the pedals are off. She'd need a license, registration, and insurance if she had left them off. Not to mention she could not use it where bikes could be used at that point
Let me make this perfectly clear, if all you show is the scooter going downhill then I'm not buying lol People aren't stupid. But I'll cut you some slack cuz it's from 2012. make the thing lighter with better batteries and it should run better, 500watts should be more than enough to climb hills nicely.
Just saying but why does it have such a slow top speed, i know that it is not meant to be a racing bike but it the motor could have used a upgrade for the price :l
Oh dear I can see pedals catching kerbs, cars, pedestrians, dogs! I can see girl having her ankles maimed and scratches all over those bare arms. This is an irresponsible machine.
Jon Hunter I thought they needed peddles to qualify as a bicycle and therefore evade Tax, insurance and all that gubbins. Guess you can be creative and dodge the laws. I like some of the new electric motorcycles but they are a bit too expensive at the moment.
I don't see the point in this . My Ebike is much lighter hence quicker acceleration, less energy used so longer distance and less stress on the battery and motor . I fitted a top box on the bike and I get the same benefits as this (and more) . Also those cranks are hideous and dangerous .
I have a 2018 Gio like this. Has a high/low speed switch: low speed governed to 32km/h (20mph), high speed is 48km/h (30mph). No licence, insurance or gas required, as long as pedals are installed.
I own one GIO Scooter I bought last year. The best buy, ever... (Gatineau, QC)

shes so cute, good video guys, it's very practical you get to see how it looks in so many ways, not alot of videos are like this
I like this. So cool, carefree, and youthful. I never found cars appealing.
that is what I need. to avoid the loud noise of a gas engine, music to my ears, calm to my nerves.
Man , I really want one of those , there are so cool.
So the passenger can paddling which is charging the battery. Brilliant!
Great video
Go green no gas great video

Très beau vidéo, quelle belle ville Québec ;)
Have you driven this in the winter time?
Pedals is removable, at least on my bike it has a fast connector just like on the wrench tool set, and you can hold it inside the frame bag pack.
Eu, Ti, amo Dona mia !

thanks
Does anyone know approximately how long the battery lasts? Say you drove it around and hour a day on relatively even ground
how long can you drive it in one charge ? like in minutes or hours
Do you know why my Atlila says 2K on the screen or 1K on the screen I changed the batteries and it still says the same thing, whats it mean?

Actually do you remember those chariots in the ben hur film the ones that chopped people's legs off as they raced around the circuit, well you have your very own chariot to chop people's legs off with those pedals if they get in your way ha ha.
those pedals are so awkward and useless, but attachment needed to qualify as bicycle excluding insurance and licensing laws.
They are damned dangerous sticking out like that!
***** any faster than 20mph and they can't be classified as a bicycle.
sounds right
puppy cat I say the law, and those dangerous pests the police, can go fuck themselves. Those pedals look like a massive hazard. They hook on anything, like a rock, a pothole, or a door, and that can make it crash.

I need a phone number for Gio Bikes Canada
The one listed on their site is 1-877-274-0480 (Vancouver).
Please note, I am not affiliated with Gio Bikes in any way.
How do i use a motorcycle battery or lawn mower battery or even a small car battery up to this scooter. To give it extra travel distance ?
Motor controller on this bike is 17AH, so a car battery would fry it. Original battery packs are four 12V-12AH (50-60km range, 48km/h max speed), but you can get 12V-15AH replacements for extra range (70-80km). i seen that red battery you showed me when i clicked on the link the next step is showing me how to hook up two batteries to increase the distance.
do you need a license to drive this and insurance??
The new model of Gio the le Falcon can roll at 59 kilomètres
Those pedals look lethal extremely dangerous sticking out like that, have you off that bike in no time at all if you go through gaps or get a little close to the kerb.

Is this scooter a 2-seater?
Yes, 2-seater. Rear footrests behind/beside floor mat.
500watts is ok, that's not a toy its a mode of transportation.

Oh dear I can see pedals catching kerbs, cars, pedestrians, dogs! I can see girl having her ankles maimed and scratches all over those bare arms. This is an irresponsible machine.
its not the machine thats irresponsible, it's the operator. (which is why I take my pedals off)
Surely then it is illegal!
nope.
Jon Hunter I thought they needed peddles to qualify as a bicycle and therefore evade Tax, insurance and all that gubbins. Guess you can be creative and dodge the laws. I like some of the new electric motorcycles but they are a bit too expensive at the moment.
Does it come with the girl? 6:36
Underpowered. It's a 350W with 500W peak.
