I wouldn't be surprised, If Shrinking Rae develops PTSD and claustrophobia after that whole ordeal. She might even retire early because of it.
Would honestly be interesting if her trauma over the event leads her to feel like her powers are so useless in a lot of situations that she pushes herself to get an upgrade similar to what Key Issues is alluding to with her character taking the spot of the character the show couldn't get the rights of
I want to see her fight some of the micro-villains that her counterpart fought in the comics that we never get to see. Might also come in handy during a certain alien virus outbreak

I think the writers of the show knew that we were aware that Ray was going to die at the hands/jaws of Komodo Dragon, what I didn’t expect was how they handled it. Watching Ray struggle and then seemingly crushed to death in Komodo Dragon’s neck as a lighter layer of blood spills out of his mouth was a mortifying sight. It definitely made the 1 week wait that revealed that Ray survived without any hints a lot more satisfying, especially for the many fans who still haven’t found out about Dupli-Kate’s real fate.
That scene was horrifying
Let's hope they have the balls to keep her dead. Don't protect Ray or Kate just because they are women. Treat everyone equal.
Definitely not satisfying takes away all the tension when you realize since shrink ray didn't die no one died from that fight then meaning this fight had no real significance to anyone
@@Testsubjexhard disagree. Just because she didn’t die doesn’t mean she isn’t traumatized from the ordeal. The fact she survived makes it way more intriguing. How does she and the others grow or regress since the incident?
@@Bman32x never said they regressed I said there are no real consequences and "her trauma"? no one cares she was made to die here this shit is supposed to be superhero game of thrones she as character crested narratively here and should have died there are too many other characters actually integral to the story she was made to die here we should be seeing Brit and Tech Jacket I don't wanna see Shrink ray alive and its not more interesting to me it takes me out the show and shows me the writers are pandering to female audiences for one changing the sex and keeping her alive cause shes a woman (I don't care they changed her sex) but they did the same thing with the boys with queen maeve in season 3 these shows shouldn't hold punches and be scared to kill off important characters cause "character ratings" or "Fuffiling an agenda" (when there are already mad strong female characters) its just annoying and obnoxious to me in no way is it "more interesting to me" I don't wanna see where her story goes from her cause she doesn't have one
I hope shrinking Ray will somehow gain the ability to grow into a giant
I was happy to see her alive in show. She was as brave as Rex in this fight.
I hope we see the mind control episode as Rae’s triumphant return, and have her win, with Invincible just up above like “I had this rock just in case, but you got this.”
Imagine if the shows version is killed by the cannibal mark…
Hopefully they do something with that change, since we're heading into uncharted territory with that.

Headcanon: Shirking Rae was originally the sidekick ot Shirking Ray and have another hero name. But then Shirking Ray died on a mission before the show took place and Rae took up the mantle of Shirking Rae.

Same case with green ghost they showed the male green ghost in the atom eve episode so my guess is he passed on the mantle or that’s his daughter

Well if Tech Jacket is not going to appear in the TV series because of copyright issues. Then I guess Shrinking Ray will have to be his replacement. Now with the final episode of season 2 coming out soon, we all know who's getting a video about themselves next: Anissa the viltrumite who sexually assaulted Mark, and then gave birth to his son Markie. Who becomes the new Invincible at the end of the comic book series.

Hot take, I love Grey DeLisle, but I wish they'd have a few more female VAs. Having Rae on a team with Monster Girl is sorta distracting when it's clearly the same voice with different inflections.
I like how the captions on Prime spell her name both with R-a-y and R-a-e, I wonder if Rae is her real name.
I heard it's supposed to be short for 'Rachel', but I don't know what's the source for that claim.
Watch her comeback with a yellow jacket arc as DEATH REA able to no longer shrink to being deathly afraid too now she Grows but not normally as her bod contorts and stretches at odd angles to symbolize that her physical trauma is worse then ever imagined
I wonder if I should read deeper into not 'seeing' any micro assassins. Is there a second story going on in the background of the tv series? ( I haven't read the series )
Thank you. Tired of people with nothing better to do calling everything woke and ruined. I actually like the show version better and glad her story did not end where it ended in the comics.
It's also a better character design. The comic one is a bit generic looking. With the glasses being the only thing that stands out. I dunno, something about the ponytail that gives it a little more uniqueness. Even if it's slight
Im not calling it woke, but I moreso question what was the point of the gender change in the first place? It doesn't really change the character at all but now that Rae survived maybe they can actually do something with the character

I just realize something for the Guardians Of The Glob try outs, The Invincible Wars and funeral we saw a lot of Hero's so why didn't Cecil Stedman call any of them to help the New Guardian with The Lizard League
He probably thought the people he sent were enough. Generally the Lizard League are considered jobbers and not really a threat.
My theory is many of them died fighting Omnipetus.

While I know the show is different from the comic but I don't think they would change too much (I know for one thing, the upcoming war with Angstrom is gonna be different due to other comicbook characters cannot appear in the show).

He literally sucker punched a guy and stole his identity. He said he thought the other martians would find him but that was soooo sloppy of him. Obviously martians couldn't find him and the sequids won. I admire his innocence but as Rex would say COME ON. You can't achieve what you desire at the expense of others! I don't think he's shady and he's clearly bad at lying, but he's very immature.
I think his and Cecil death at the hands of Robot solidified the turn of Robot as the main antagonist from Earth. The other deaths during his purge werent very important

Normally I dislike it when adaptations change a character's gender or race, as it's just a lazy way of checking a box. But at the same time, Shrinking Ray was a very small (pun intended) character in the comics, so him being changed into a woman really doesn't impact anything in terms of character or plot, so I don't mind it.
He was kinda a joke in the comics but not in the show. Which kinda shows a bias. That's all I'm saying.

-she will retire from hero duty due to her trauma or injuries.
-she will continue working as a hero but her protagonism will become lower.

I think they might try to keep her alive since there’s an some important characters (For example Tech Jacket) that they can’t use in the show and might use characters who were expendable previously as replacements

I think they are keeping her alive to help in the Invincible War coz I'm pretty sure they won't be able to get some characters from the comics coz of legal issues.
My thoughts are that the show is a different dimension considering a multiverse exist in invincible. I also think shrinking ray being changed is fine because he’s such a minor character and isn’t annoying unlike amber who’s characters change pissed people off with her actions in the show.

They most likely made Rae female because there are no more male voice actors and have to resort to having Grey Delisle voice every woman on the show haha.

I want her to be completely out of commission for the rest of the series, but I still want her fate to be acknowledged and given a brief spotlight. It would be interesting and new to see a superhero who neither goes out in glory nor gets to live a fulfilling life. It would emphasize how much being a superhero sucks a lot more than simply killing her off would.

To be honest, this genderswap is probably the best change for the sake of it the cartoon does; purely because she's very cute, despite being a nothingburger like the original.

I can see Immortal being a part of the Viltrumite War, especially if Kate’s death is permanent this time. He’s been buffed significantly in the show aswell(He was fodder in the comics while in the show he can consistently trade blows with Nolan) so I think he can fill TKs role in the war.
As for Brit I have no idea. Samson or Donald maybe?

Im actualy excited to see what the show will do with this previosuly irrelevant character. I didnt have much of an opinion on them originally. Very neutral towards them. But her fate against the Lizard League has lived rent free in my head since I saw it. No idea what to expect going forward but this minor character will get a fair shake from me going forward.
Honestly I won't complain about invincible being woke because the inclusive modifications made it better.
What is annoying is when they make series worse and annoying with obvious political messaging

Really glad she survived in the show, I kinda hate the trope of expendable characters who exist only to die. It’s the same thing as having no character at all, it doesn’t make for an interesting moment when they do end up dying cause you just don’t care since they haven’t been developed at all.
Thats how i felt about the character in the comics... like... i legitimately forget that he died vs the Lizard league bc up until that point he had like 5 total lines of dialog in the entire series haha

I remember thinking "Aaaand there she goes" when *that* happened, knowing her comic equivalent was killed so suddenly I was sure this was gonna be the end for her as well.
