    @rticante Před 3 lety +260

Here's the translated lyrics + the meaning of the song from Damiano. I found them online. They're particularly important for this song.
    *LYRICS*
    Tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
    Coraline, Coraline

Coraline, as beautiful as the sun
A warrior with a zealous heart
    Hair like red roses
    Those copper wires are precious
My love, take them to me
If you hear the bells singing
    You'll see Coraline weeping
She takes the sorrow of others
And she carries it inside of her

Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
    Coraline, Coraline

    But she knows the truth
It’s not for everyone to move on
With an heart split in two
    It's already cold
She's a child but she feels
    Some kind of weight
And sooner or later she'll break
People will say “She’s worth nothing,
She can't even walk out of a simple door”
But one day, just once, she will make it

And I told Coraline that she can grow up
Gather her stuff and then leave
But she feels a monster locking her in a cage
    Covering her path with mines
And I told Coraline that she can grow up
Gather her stuff and then leave
But Coraline doesn't want to eat, no
    Yes, Coraline would rather disappear

    And Coraline cries
    Coraline is anxious
Coraline wants the sea but she is afraid of water
And perhaps the sea is inside of her
And each word is like an axe
    A cut on her back
    Like a raft that sails
    In a swollen river
And perhaps the river is inside of her, of her

I'll be the fire and the cold
    A shelter during winter
    I'll be what you breathe
I'll understand what's inside of you
And I'll be the water you drink
    The meaning of good
    I'll even be a soldier
Or the light in the night
And I ask nothing in return
    Just a smile
    Each of your smallest tears
Is an ocean on my face
And I ask nothing in return
    Just some time
    I'll be a banner, a shield
    Or your silver sword

    And Coraline cries
    Coraline is anxious
    Coraline wants the sea
But she is afraid of water
And perhaps the sea is inside of her
And each word is like an axe
    A cut on her back
    Like a raft that sails
    In a swollen river
And perhaps the river is inside of her, of her

    And tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
Coraline, Coraline, tell me your truths
    Coraline, Coraline
Coraline, as beautiful as the sun
She lost the fruit of her womb
    She never knew love
But a father who is nothing like a father
They told her “There’s a castle in the city
    With walls so strong
That if you go and live in there
Nothing will be able to reach you
Nothing will be able to break you”
*MEANING OF “CORALINE” AS TOLD BY DAMIANO*
It’s our fairy tale, the story of a little girl who can’t find her place in the world because she’s too pure and fragile. It tells, through a sweet melody, a journey that gradually becomes more and more distressing, that seems hopeless. [...] “Coraline” needs a clarification: *it’s not the story of the knight saving the damsel in distress.* The story ends badly, there is no happily ever after. It’s something real, it’s the withering of this flower, of this girl, and the knight is helpless and powerless in the face of what is happening. As for the name Coraline, it’s not inspired by the cartoon, by the film. The choice of the name is purely musical, phonetic. The story is a real story, one I will not talk about right now, turned into a fairy tale, and everyone can interpret it as they wish.

I like Noosh puppet show. She's a little like Victoria, childish, emotional, energic. You never know if she's about to laugh or cry (should be the same for her). What I liked most in the final was the image of Thomas desperatly hanging on Victoria trying to play the mom but crying even more than thomas. That mixt of joy, fear, awe, tears and hope. Looked like puppy dog waiting for a regal meal after 1 year without food. Not talking about the drummer reaction which was a show in the show. The only one who looked adult was the oldest of the gang (Damiano). But Damiano is authorised to look old as he will fail anyway. That's what I love with Maneskin and Noosh reminds me them in her way of being. I like the way she gets carried away and she's so cute when she gets emotional.

If you listen the music you cry but if you understand the story it’s impossibile to stop cry.

Regarding "Coraline" and its meaning, Damiano ( the singer ) said this during an interview:
" “Coraline” needs a clarification: it is not the story of a knight who saves the princess in difficulty. The story ends badly, there is no happy ending. It is something real, it is the withering of this flower, of this girl, and the knight is helpless and powerless in the face of what is happening. As for Coraline, it is not referring to the cartoon, to the film. The choice of the name is purely musical, phonetic. The story is real, which I will not talk about, reported in a fairy tale and everyone can interpret it as they like"
I translated it... i hope it's at least comprehensible😅! Anyway, understanding single words would be magic, because its lyrics are very very deep. I think it's a story that talks about depression. I feel like the girl that "Coraline" talks about ended up commiting suicide, because in the final refrain ( where the rythm is not intense anymore... the last lines ), the song talks about a castle that will protect her, and nothing will hurt her anymore. Suicide is probably the "cure" this text is about. It's like if this girl suffered so much that suicide was an happy ending for her, but not for his lover. The tones and the music in general become more and more intense as it goes on. The voice that is talking is the voice of the lover with a broken heart.
Just my interpretation... I hope you'll find out more about it anyway!

Ooooh, yes!! Noosh must DEFINITELY react to that masterpiece! ❤️ It blew my mind when I watched it in Sanremo, so so good. Sadly, RAI removed all the Sanremo performances from YT, but you can find 'Amandoti' on Streamable website: on the link address just add "/" followed by "33ht7f" (after the "streamable dot com", that is)
PD- I tried to write the link here but YT deleted my comment, and I just found out they don't allow links other than YT's 😕, so this is the only way I found to leave you the link to their live performance. 😅
