@Siper Well, perhaps there are powerful individuals within legendary species that bear unique responsibilities(like the birds and lugia in the movie).
The capturable legendaries are still very powerful amongst other pokemon, but amongst their own species they are totally average. Kind of like how there are 'powerful' or more distinguished humans and regular humans.
NOTE- this gives legendaries more agency, and treats them as characters, rather than items that just respawn due to arceus, or eggs hatching(the egg hatching one could apply to specific mythicals and legendaries, but not rhe majority)

You're wrong though. All the typings fit.
Two of the types match perfectly (Electric and Psychic) while the other two still make perfect sense in other ways. The Baile Style may not be Grass-type, but it makes sense for them to be Fire/Flying to face the abundance of Grass-type Pokémon (just like Alolan Marowak) as well as Tapu Bulu. And Sensu Style's Ghost typing fits perfectly with Tapu Fini's origins as Kanaloa, even if it doesn't match the typing. Water, Ghost, and Fairy are all types that fit Tapu Fini/Kanaloa, and having Tapu Fini as Water/Fairy and Oricorio-S as Ghost/Flying made the most sense in terms of representing all three of those types. Kanaloa is a deity of the ocean, so having it as a Water-type (and giving it Lono's marlin hat) were necessary. But the lulling of the waves and the general atmosphere of both the deity and the island it protects means that Oricorio-S adapting to the Ghost-type makes sense.

Another reason for Tapu Fini being suited as Kana Lulu because in one episode Hapu tells Ash and the others about how Tapu Fini's fog connects the world of the living with the world of the deceased and a few of them literally came across their lost loved ones. Thing you might want to keep in mind is that Ulaula, Tapu Bulu's island is also the place where Po Town (a place filled with Alola's rejects Team Skull) is perpetually raining almost as if the area has been cursed in some way - which given the former corrupt kahuna and the fact Po Town was said to be where the former royal family lived and looks under all the vandelism to have been a very high class and fancy -kinda like a gated community perhaps?- place...
(Alas I cannot find it now but I do remember reading a while back a story about a god I think was Lono cursing a man for smashing a sacred bolder in his property and cursing him to be forever followed by rain. YMMV on if I've got the facts right or not since I'm having trouble finding it now but if I am remembering right then that would explain a little of what's happening with Bulu right now in Sun/Moon canon).
Lono is also associated with storms and the rainy season was once said to his tears of grieving over his first mortal wife Kaikilani so IDK Po Town could also be grieving for the former royal family and/or the members of Team Skull? Nanu does seem pretty concerned about and for them in a way nobody else in Alola seems to be bothered with (Nanu is lazy yeah but I think Bulu also picked him because as Acerola points out he secretly cares a lot and does a LOT for people. Lono's kind side showing through that kahuna choice even if Bulu is too pissed to deal with people right now, it still chose a kahuna who would do good for the island, even if it's not the kind of good humans like professor Kukui want/expect).
Actually continuing on that Po Town ramble, one thing I've always found fascinating about the place screams that its a puʻuhonua (city of refuge) with how it has those massive walls and its where team Skull (the outcasts/'disrespectful ones') have fled to, and yet all the houses there under grime seem hella fancy in a way that places like a pu'uhonua probably wouldn't be?
...Just a theory on my part but I suspect the previous kahuna might've actually been part of the Ula'ula royal family given their mansion is one of the many abandoned buildings there and that Po Town itself prior to being taken over by team Skull is representative of how the kahuna at the time was disrespecting the scared sites/roles places were meant to have since well, pu'uhonua are for those that need sanctuary not to be where rich fancy people build mansions and trim hedged for themselves (...whereas IDK overly fancy stuff and 'neatly trimmed hedges' screams gated community and trashing something like that seems like it would be right up team Skull's alley).
All complete conjecture on my part though~ XD
Still given that there's that endless rain, Nanu (aka the kahuna/high priest of Bulu) nearby looking out for the people there (and implied to visit if that bed covered in meowth fur inside the mansion/Shady House is any indication) instead of arresting them like most people seem to think he should as a police officer... Call me crazy but looking over Ula'ula as a whole a sort of story of 'how the traditional islanders lost their way, perhaps over generations in worse and worse ways and eventually lead to the normally gentle natured Tapu Bulu completely losing it sh#t' in only the last generation or two. Going by that logic, Nanu might just be Kahuna because Tapu Bulu was as depressed and sad as Nanu post failed ultra beast interpol missions is and IDK felt like it could relate. (Aaahhh~ The secret/up to interpretation tragic stories tucked away in the pokemon games never fail to be fun to try to piece together

I really like the theory of the Oricorio's being related to the Tapus. I think it fits even better than you said! Two of the typings match perfectly, and the other two still make sense. The Baile Style may not be Grass-type, but it makes sense for them to be Fire/Flying to face the abundance of Grass-type Pokémon (just like Alolan Marowak) as well as Tapu Bulu. Oricorio-B's Fire typing also matches Tapu Bulu's personality, as well as Lono being the god of music. And Sensu Style's Ghost typing still fits perfectly with Tapu Fini's origins as Kanaloa.
It makes even more sense when you consider that Oricorio's forms are also based on Darwin's finches. They all evolved to match their deity/island.
I've never disliked Oricorio, but that theory alone has made me like all four of its forms a lot more! Just in time for my Ultra Moon playthrough :D

So since you showed the anime towards the end of the video, I feel okay using it as a source: in the anime, Tapu Fini explicitly has the power to connect the living with the spirits of the dead through a special mist it produces, putting it squarely in the role of Kanaloa.
As far as Olivia's similarly to Tapu Lele goes, while Olivia lacks Lele's casual, capricious cruelty, she is responsible for a lot of the damage she tries to fix thanks to her own clumsiness; it is another anime-only trait, but it's so inherent to her there that I feel like it's meant to be canon across all media.

For starters the word "Maori" is two syllables "mao" and "ri", not three.

2-sensu style, a reference to traditional japanese dances, is also a reference to japan, maybe because of the proximity.
3-baile style, clearly a reference to flamenco, because of the spanish colonies and maybe because of the battle of cagayan (but i dont really believe that)

You talking about the Tapus' capricious nature towards humanity made me wonder... why the hell did Tapu Koko save the player in the beginning of the game if it doesn't care about protecting humans? Maybe, being a guardian deity and all, it could somehow sense that disaster could soon befall Alola via the Ultra Beasts, whom the Tapus have fought before. Maybe Tapu Koko sensed that the PC would become entangled in the Aether Foundations plans, and be vital to Alola's protection, and decided to save them- along with giving them a gift, a blessing, in the form of a Z-stone, to help them along.
And well... it was right, after all; it's the PC who stops Lusamine (or Necrozma in USUM), saving Alola from true disaster even as the Tapus again fought the Ultra Beasts. Perhaps that's even why the Tapus deign to fight you in the post-game; if the little human who saved Alola- the islands, as well as the people- wants a battle, then why not give it to them? And if they manage to actually capture them... well, a human lifetime is nothing to a god, and they could probably break out whenever they want to (I don't buy, even for a moment, that a Pokeball could actually hold a legendary unless they allowed it).
Eh, it's just a theory. A POKEMON THEORY!!

It was actually rescuing Nebby. A bazillion years ago whichever Pokemon happens to be the game mascot of the version being played showed up and trounced all four Tapu, earning their loyalty in the process. It then tasked them with watching out for its kids; Nebby isn't specifically established as coming from that bloodline or whatever but belongs to the right species. I forget where this is spelled out in-game (for obvious reasons I'd guess Malie Library), but my info isn't a theory.

Hey Lockstin, I know this seems a but off topic, but I wanted to know your thoughts on what we've seen in Sword and Shield so far. Now that we have more information on new Pokemon, Galarian and Gigantamax forms, and so on, I thought it would be cool to hear your opinion on these things.

The Oricorio forms brings an interesting idea, what would a non alolan Oricorio look like, there should be a "first" form that was taken before they drank the nectar right? And what would happen if they left alola, would they be forever stuck as the form they left in? What if they went to Sinnoh and drank from around the emotion lakes? So many possibilities from all the games.

Shinies are albino or melanistic versions of Pokemon, perhaps there was a genetic mutation that caused the Pokemon to be born in odd color.

idk i kinda like the idea of pokemon deities bonding or choosing a human protector through personality traits just how trainer and pokemon bond through personality and likeness like two parts of the same soul and all of that like it is a pretty cool idea to consider thats why the kahuna could call the tapu for assistance in battle , because they share that bond between human and pokemon, but however being gods they cant be captured and in essence this can represent the natural flow of what pokemon and people should share and that is a natural bond and humans who are at one with nature
