Driving On WA SR-516 East In 1987 (Des Moines, Kent, Covington)

Back in 1987, The Washington State Department of Transportation drove East on WA SR-516 and recorded video to document the highway. This was part of a project that photographed/videotaped the states highways every couple of years. This video now resides at The Washington State Archives who were kind enough to share it.

That hwy was the main vein of my teenage years. There is very little resemblance to the video remaining.

I know it's been a few years sweetheart but can you please remember or try your best to remember the Taco 🌮Time🌮 in Des Moines when me and you would go to Des Moines that's the Taco🌮 Time 🌮we ate at we had hop sauce🌶🍚 Ranch Plus our inFAMOUS soft taco🫔 I got to say,.. one of the cutest most adorable things I've ever seen was how much you loved potato🥔 nuggets with your infamous hot sauce Ranch mix🎉🥔 and how much you love your chippies I seriously was so happy seeing you happy with your munchies🎉❤❤

You pretty much drove by everywhere I lived growing up in the 90s/2000s in Kent and Des Moines. I went to KM high. Lived on central by the junior high. Went to the elementary school at the bottom of Kent Des Moines hill. That jack in the box is still there on smith. That Taco Bell is like a jeweler now.

There's still a lot of Kent that looks the same, but Covington!!!! So different now.
