Love my Kingsize. Fits me, gear and two labradors. Can confirm it goes just below freezing with no additional insulation, and a swagman advanced gets me lower. Can fit a cheap inflatable pad in the stuff sack too.

A good one. Yes, for those who are into the serious challenging stuff .. Four Season Environments etc, definitely a viable consideration and worth the 'pay once, cry once' scenario.
Good quality gear that does what it is supposed to do, for me, has a 'comforting' feel about it. Very much a case of 'have and not (ever) need as opposed to (really) need (even if only once) and not have.

NB: The Alpenflage Pants .. careful! Drop cooked bacon on a pants leg or into one's lap while sitting and you'll never find it again .. 😁.

I have really been enjoying the TAZ pants for the warmer weather. Lightweight and relatively breathable. Not great in the rain, but so it goes.

you can choose the level of insulation - you can get the zip out separate insulation, you can get the 60gsm integral insulation then you can get 170gsm integral insulation

In bivvy bag mode on a prussik line with one tent end zipped in to put your gear would be the end all be all

@@TheSplashey Depends on how you use it. The best option is the setup I showed at the end, and then use the zippers to let condensation out. Small learning curve, but absolutely awesome kit,

I would like your opinion about the attachments: better the grommets like here or the webbing loops as we find on Särmä TST Cloaks ?
Thank you! It’s hard to say, both are quality designs and work well. The grommets are of solid construction, while offering ports for ventilation when used as a wind sack. For either cloak, ventilation can be achieved/attenuated by simply opening zippers.

How does it compare with the Sarma Thermal Cloak ?
The Sarma cloak is great, but it is based off the Jerven. Very comparable quality, slightly different features.
i bought a hunter on ebay... but something is strange about it(reads hunter on the sleeve bag but nothing else). it doesnt pack down the size you have reads 60g premoloft) . it comes into a square bag and it rolls up. is this the same bag as the "modern hunters" just i got a older model of something. and if i buy the bag will it squish down to to fit?
@@gospelninja2.016 I am not sure on that. It should say Jerven Fjelduken and have the Wolverine logo on the leather corner reinforcements. It may be an older model, but I am not sure....
Didn’t see the king, but my God at $450.00 for the top of the line one and. What 399, for next one down, I’ll find something else🤪

how do you exactly wash this?
I hang mine on a line and spray the inside with water. You could hand wash in a sink or bucket, or gentle machine cycle. It can be re waterproofed with a silicone spray as needed.
The Norwegian army has its own videos where they show how they use these bags.
