As cute and wholesome as this is, having them beat each other up and even eviscerate their internal organs and break their bones after just having a nice conversations is just weird.
That's true, but I'd say that also depends on whether or not you decide to use fatal blows or fatalities, and though there are just the brutal normal and special moves, you could argue that magic or something helps them take the beating.
I honestly love this weirdness of MK. Guy1:"oh hey, how's it going?" Guy2: rips his friend's arm off "all good. How about you?" Guy1: breaks his friend's spine "never better".
I love how these show just how vastly different Liu Kang is from Kronika when it comes to Geras. Kronika created Geras solely to serve her and carry out her commands without question. Liu Kang created Geras as a friend and partner, and even gave Geras the choice to serve or not.
And by the sounds of things he's more than capable of looking after things after Liu Kang finally dies. In one game, he became one of my favourite characters.

I *love* the tone of this game! It's much lighter than what came before, but it's still epic, with great character work, and almost everyone is likable. I love it.
Honestly as friendly as everyone is to each other, it just makes them more psychotic when they finish the fight with a gruesome fatality afterwards. Like "Dude I totally respect you we should be buds" to eviscerating them all over the floor and leaving barely any remains.

I said it on a previous video I will say it again. It would be amazing to see all the MK Lore in some 5 minute webisodes. This new timeline has made so much wholesome Kontent that I would love to see explored. I especially would like to see Johnny’s movie progress with the champions, As well as Movie night with Kitana and Syzoth.

Long time fans are living in a crazy time right now. Mortal Kombat will always be Mortal Kombat (fatalities and all), but these kombatant interactions really made them more 3-Dimensional. Even the last two games give characters more personality with the pre-fight banters. It's strange, but in a good way.
