@@chadpeterson5698 Honestly, General Shao in general treats his subordinates A LOT better than Shao Kahn ever did; he treats Reiko with genuine respect, he never gives his other troops reason to complain of him, and Outworld's disenfranchised flock to his banner after his rebellion, with Shao taking anyone willing to fight for him, regardless of race or status.
It's a shame that he's still an evil jerk even with that in mind but you still gotta give the guy credit

Kronika treat him like a slave for eons or maybe 10x of eons since he's been around before Kronika is a time keeper
This resulted in him having no more motivation to lives and instead wanna die(or become mortal to die)

Liu Kang gave him a proper treatment and actually treat him like a true partner for eons( Kronika stays at Hourglass meanwhile he command Geras to go to the frontline while Liu Kang let Geras stays at Hourglass so Liu Kang stays on the frontline meaning Geras finally get to rest)

Geras regain his will to lives and even offer to safeguard Liu Kang's new era which is soooo precious and admirable
It’s so weird… but also wholesome how much of a cheerleader Kitana is for Mileena.
Hearing Baraka speaking abt his Aunt is so heartbreaking… He may be a monster now, but he once was human.
Honestly if there is one thing I love about MK1 is that Tarkatan lore is now pretty tragic, Tarkat essentially gradually reduces you to be what Baraka became when he was once a successful merchant and wealthy man that did trade in the coast of Edenia.
And his grandmother's big Teeth😁 he clearly love his family...... Poor guy

Lui Kang's fault, skill issue. If he would have created them as a clan of their own like in prior timelines instead of not creating them like that in the first place and even not considering to create them that way afterwards, then there would be no Tarkat disease that Shang Tsung would cause to spread since Tarkats would be exist as race in the first place and would not be considered as disease, and therefore people wouldn't act disrespectfull against to Tarkats because they were sick people, but they would fear from them if they were an already existed race as their own, and they could have earned their right to be seen as a nation of their own and would have their rights for politicals, just like how it worked in prior timelines.

I quite like how more characters have additional family members. Makes for interesting musing on what those relationships are like, beyond obvious details like Johnny resenting his brother and Raiden's pride in his sister.

The fact that he doesn't consider Kronica, Cetrion or Shinnok as family says a lot about their mistreatment towards his abilities. I'm glad Geras has done a 180 and become one of the good guys now. Liu Kang's someone who's tough on the outside but caring on the inside.
I mean, if I was solely created to be treated like cannon fodder and not be allowed to die, to the point were if I was granted to be Keeper of Time, I preferred to use my life essence to keep it running on auto just so I could finally die (see his arcade ending)... Yeah, I'd have the same opinion about them too.
Calling Liu Kang an upgrade is the understatement of the year.

Though they made Reiko a total jobber in MK1, I have to respect how his loyalties and morals don't sway from Shao and family. He is _pissed off_ at the notion that Sub-Zero let his father die.

It’s actually a little refreshing for the “adopted brother” trope to sort of be flipped on it’s head. Usually the adopted one is always an outcast.
But Scorpion accepts and loves Smoke like a real brother, it’s just Sub Zero who has a stick up his ass.
Yep in every timeline Kuai-Liang and Tomas have a bond that is essentially a bond between brothers who will go the distance for each other and back each other up if push comes to shove.

There is a line from Smoke “Father wanted us to be brothers”. It gave me flashbacks to Mileena and Kitata from MK11. Family drama goes from one timeline to another
Kenshi and Shao talking about the rest of Shao's family is oddly wholesome.

Lui kang: alright, its time to create a New timeline, since my own has damaged beyond repair but more importantly i just don't want to put some work for that, so i'm just going to create a new one where everything will be rebooted and no one will remember Jack shit. Alright, Netherrealm is here, Earthrealm is there, Johnny will be here, and Kenshi will be there, Sindel can look a bit better and not sound like a harpy, because i'm a God like being so why not? And milena and kitana will be actual siblings...

It would be an awesome idea if the dialogue continues after the fight is over (like Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven style). But only triggers if Fatalities aren't performed

Leaving aside the fact that MK1 had an excess of nice dialogues even between villains, which is so heartwarming, it is also a spectacle of Voice acting.
There's Sub-Zero.... I still can't believe and can't get tired of thinking that he's voiced by the same person that voice Satoru Gojo.
And then there's Nitara..... whom..... no offense, I still can't believe someone approved that voice acting. It's not like Megan Fox can't do a good dialogue but I can't stop believing she's not trying.

Megan Fox has never been a good actor. At her best she is okay, but for the most part she isn't good combine that with a lack of experience in voice acting you get this.

All these family members had to have come with this new timeline. Because as scattered as my knowledge of this series is, I would have known most of these characters would have other family members in previous timelines.

I would love it if we saw these relatives that the Kombatants are talking about. I doubt that they'd be playable, but it would add more to the lore if we saw them.
I swear it feels like there should be three lines of dialog in these interactions, like that one about smoke reminding Sindel of her nephew it's just feels cut-off.

I’m curious about Smoke resembling this banished Xandras. Is this some foreshadowing of Smoke’s possibly betraying the good side? Or is it possible that he will have some bad consequences from fighting for a cause that is right in his mind that ends up with him betraying Kuai Liang? He seems to have underlying resentment towards Lou Kang and Geras (i think?) said that he’s worried about him. 🤔
