Believe it or not, the awkwardness of the suit does fit into cannon, since the Kaminoans were bad at designing suits for humans, and they ended up being very uncomfortable. Although that really only applies to the first generation clone armor, I assume that the gen 2 would still be uncomfortable.
Icrazyfish actually, I heard that it was very comfortable, mostly due to the black body suit.

Icrazyfish The canon reasoning behind that is that every stormtrooper’s armor is coded/connected to their serial number, which gives them access to a wide array of vision modes/enhanced vision. This was to protect the armor and its software from robbers and whatnot. When the armor doesn’t link up with the trooper, are you’re left with is a small eyehole which is why Luke said that. As for the “thunk”, let’s just assume that guy wasn’t the smartest stormtrooper.
rex's armor was a mix of gen 1 and 2. the upper body was specifically gen 1

Thank you SO much for this seriously, this is such a godsend. I'm sure I'd never have ever thought about like 98% of these tips and tricks on my own, y'all are amazing. Cosplay is such a scary thing for me, but watching you suit up slowly with advice really helped ease a lot of that anxiety. It's so easy for me to see excellent cosplayers such as yourselves and feel intimidated or hopeless like I'll never achieve that, but y'all are so uplifting and it means a lot. Thank you for doing what you do.
A video about how to make the armor would help me out even more since I myself am working on a set of animated armor. Wonderful video as always, keep it up!

Love the little tips and tricks. There are so many hilarious quotes and facial expressions from this, TBH probably my favourite part. The salt about the 501st is amazing too.
I am so glad you made this episode, that you hinted at during the Kevin one. I am building a realistic clone, and it is always super helpful to see how other people work around the armor (and cut corners) and talk about what didn't work. Let's see the shore trooper armor up, and even another clone, as everybody does it slightly differently, and different body types have different armor fit issues. Great episode!

Kev just sent my armor, it'll be here in a week - and i am SO pumped to finally start my first build. I always look for videos and tips on how people build this armor cause i don't wanna mess mine up, but this kinda video gives me more confidence that i can do it! The Velcro, the Bondo, and the glue tips are huge and seeing how you attached pieces for longevity, and to avoid cracks is important so i know ahead of time, before i start to assemble my armor pieces. Def gonna give this video another once over when i'm actually building this kit next week.
Still waiting for a step-by-step guide, but this will do for now.
Where can you get armor like this? I want to do Commander Wolf for this years cosplay and there is a whole set of his armor but its almost a grand.. please help lop
@@Austin-id3qx Imperial Surplus is the best place i've seen to get it. Some people 3d print it but idk where you could do that. Imperial Surplus IS Pricey sure, but the kit is insane once it's built and it's where Rex got his armor in the video - and all of them for that matter.

Plastic works for the look but I would say study historical armor harnessing and actually mind your proportions. That would resolve many of the mobility issues as well as issues with proposition of the armor. You are not a clone so one size doesn't fit all.

Honestly this is the best video I've seen showing how to put on armor. Bought a Captain Rex kit from KW and I'm scared to screw it up. His videos aren't the greatest since he keeps skipping around or changing his mind on ways to do things half way through the video. I'm 6'2" and a 34-36 waist, so alterations are needed.

Love the video and your recent coverage of SWGE as well! Would certainly enjoy seeing more costume videos; suit ups, builds or even 'bounding' stuff for Disneyland/WDW? I don't need the high level accuracy required for 501st or Rebel Legion, as that's not something I'm necessarily into, but tips, ideas, etc., would be fun to watch.

I also do the back plate first for mud trooper and Shoretrooper armor then I stick the chest piece on.

And you know what? It is truly a real clone trooper armor - it useless in real fight just like armor in cartoons and movies!

I use my pauldron to cover flaws in my chestplate straps as well. And I can suite up in 7 minutes, and I made a new shoulder strapping system so I can actually spar. And my helmet actually saved my head. Someones Saber bounces off my helmet, pretty hard, too. Also, use magnets for pauldrons. You can wear one, or not, and you will not have patches of Velcro. My armor can be fully converted into a standard Shocktrooper, instead of a Shock Commander.
