Interceptor 650 modifications - High lift cam - Stage 2 - Part 1

    List of all modifications that have been done to the Orange crush Interceptor 650 over a period of 4 years before installing the S&S Cycle High Lift Cam!!
    The list of modifications are as follows:
    1. Way2Speed Tubeless conversion kit
    2. EBC front brake pads
    3. Custom padded seat from Pawar seat makers
    4. 40 teeth Rear sprocket from Way2Speed
    5. Progressive front suspension springs from Way2Speed
    6. Mad Dog led auxiliary lights
    7. Way2speed aux light mounts
    8. Carbon racing windshield
    9. Way2Speed booster plug
    10. Greasehouse growler exhaust end cans
    11. BMC air filter
    12. Zana Saddle stay and back rest
    This is part 1 of the Interceptor 650 SnS high lift cam installation process:
    1. Head port and polish
    2. Quick burn modification
    3. SnS Cam installation
    Part 2 of Stage 2 will cover
    1. Piggy back ECU install and tune at Powertronic Bangalore
    At present the Inty touches 100KMPH in second gear and carries the torque all the way to 7.5K RPM. Thats the benchmark.
    Dyno test will be done when I take to Bangalore for tuning at Powertronics.
    That will happen in Feb/March.

      Lets meet. Revvs all the way to redline. Plus the initial torque has not deteriorated. Yeah its more bassy now.

    Awesome. Want to get the cam upgrade in a few months. May I ask you how much it cost you for the cam alone?

      Sure. The Cam costs ~25k in India. I bought it from High note performance from their website.

    The S&S camshaft is NOT high lift, the duration between opening and closing is different from stock (the reason for the shim washers because the valves stay open longer). It vastly improves rideability and torque, there is no gain in usable horsepower. My Interceptor has Weisco 83.5mm pistons and an S&S cam, all parts have over 15,000 miles. Again, lift is the same as the stock camshaft...

      Wow. That is new information for me. Will check again. It is advertised as a high lift cam though. Definitely worth checking.

      @@ridezilla402 check the actual numbers. I would not trust any claims by S&S. I own two Triumphs that are 865cc. They are 90mm bore and 68mm stroke. The 90mm pistons with the Royal Enfield 67.8mm stroke is 862.65cc or roughly 863cc, yet S&S lies about the actual displacement of their big-bore kit. Again, S&S doesn't tell the truth. They also claim the big-bore kits as "bolt-in" which they are not.

      @@ridezilla402 my late wife was from the area of Ohio where the "big-bore" components are made; WiseCo pistons, Cometic Gaskets (copper head gasket in the kit) and Advanced Sleeves (cylinder liners). S&S is a middleman with the only "exclusive" being an agreement with WiseCo not to list the pistons in their catalog (yet anyway) and not to sell directly to the public. Both Cometic and Advanced Sleeves will sell parts all day long; I've bought sleeves from Advanced, talked to them on the phone! There is an 89mm piston that makes 844cc with the stock R.E. 650's stroke...I am working on putting an "INT 850" kit together, have already built one 750INT and it has almost 17,000 miles on it (one of 2 S&S big-bore kits that I bought). The bike has the S&S cam in it also.

    S&S cam profiles scanned ?
    Lift , event ,duration ,overlap and change in rocker arm - valve angle at full lift due to lift change ?

      Yes. Hold on.
      High lift and longer duration cam builds power sooner in the RPM range and holds it for longer.

      They provided shims for spacers
