    A pretty cool demonstration of a beautiful ax.
    And a display of how to play with dynamics . A technique that is lost on many guitarists.
    Twisting those knobs when notes bloom is a beautiful thing

      It's likely a fake. Or simply an R9. It looks like one too. These things are popping up everywhere. It makes no sense. A real one has a story behind it. A history as evidence and people can't wait to share it.

      Jaysis! That bears my story all to pieces! I sold a ( I think it was) 1978 LP Custom for like maybe 800 dollars? Maybe less. In 93 I think it was. I can’t even really remember what it looked like. I didn’t know Gibsons like I do now. It was some kind of Cherry Burst. I remember when I bought it(from Dallas Goode of The Sadies RIP) I said is this like something Jimmy Page would own? He said more like Ace Frehley… anyway I’m sorry you lost that 59 dude

    Nice. What is the signal chain? Delay, reverb etc? Looks like the BluGuitar amp. Let’s try to play it thru a regular tube amp with no effects to cover the tone. Though it sounds good…. Need to test it with that bonamassa twin sitting there. All those effects mask the guitar’a real tone. This is a good video but let’s be honest that amp colors the tones and drenches it in effects

    • @stevenvandemsky7290
      @stevenvandemsky7290 Před 2 lety +1

    • @Niilz
      @Niilz Před 2 lety +2

      Yes - that’s easily possible with that guitar. Perfect matches for this Les Paul are Fryette amps, boosted Hiwatt DR heads and Fortin Grind/33 boosted Marshall plexi amps, if it comes to those relatively modern, aggressive and percussive sounds.

    • @stevenvandemsky7290
      @stevenvandemsky7290 Před 2 lety

      Of course it could easily do modern downtuned metal, but who would want to do that? Get a modern guitar for modern metal …

    • @serpentsbane9166
      @serpentsbane9166 Před 2 lety +1

      @@stevenvandemsky7290 I would want to do that actually. These guitars were originally meant for Jazz and Pop as Les Paul's signature guitar, not Rock, so why should any instrument be limited to play what their image is usually associated with? They are more capable than that and should be respected as such.

    • @serpentsbane9166
      @serpentsbane9166 Před 2 lety

      @@Niilz Thanks for the response. Was just wondering if anyone's used these for that more modern Hard Rock style.

    • @stevenvandemsky7290
      @stevenvandemsky7290 Před 2 lety

      @@serpentsbane9166 Kirk Hammet uses a 59 Les Paul called Greenie, which goes to show that it is perfectly fine for metal, but that’s not its strength. The guitar once belonged to Peter Green who created those typical magical bluesy sounds on the edge of breakup that no other guitar in the world is capable of. When Green sadly stopped making music he gave that guitar to Gary Moore who turned up the gain for his Hard Rock stuff. Still fine, but he could have used any other guitar without compromise. Same goes for Kirk Hammet. It doesn’t matter if he uses an ESP or that Gibson. For modern downtuned metal you are better off with a long scale 7 or 8 string guitar made of rigid hard wood.

      @@These_go_to_eleven_1959 I have a modern USA LP Special in TV yellow and it's an excellent guitar. The stock p90s are really good although I wouldn't mind the bridge pickup being a little hotter but I'm not changing them. I also have a Novo Serus J with p90s. That's my heirloom guitar. The Special is really warm but has a nice sparkle if you crank the amp and roll the guitar volume down to about 5, the Novo has a lot of bite being a longer scale with an offset vibrato. I can pretty much get any sound I want out of either of them
