Well of course Fabi yodels, she's Swiss! Seriously though I one hundred percent agree with you; I have no serious complaints about this band and inexaustable praise. Interesting story. Michalina Malisz, their current hurdy gurdy star, was first inspired to learn her instrument by Eluveitie. After she got good enough she started her own CZcams channel, mostly doing hurdy gurdy covers of metal songs, including a lot of Eluveitie songs of course. One morning she received a message that Eluveitie wanted her to try out for the band. She said "Yeah, right!" Then later she leaned their original hurdy gurdy player had left and said "Wait..." Only very very cool people would give a content creator such a big boost and recognize her talent. (Yeah I love hurdy gurdy and what she does with it. Fanboy, sue me)
Michalina told the story of joining Eluveitie on her 60.000 subs Q&A video: czcams.com/video/X6zmZraewQY/video.html . She answers a question about how she joined the band at about two minutes into the video. Oh, and I have to say that I am a Michalina fanboy too, btw. She is such a great musician and I love her hurdy gurdy covers on her channel. I discovered Eluveitie in 2010 with Anna as female vocalist and hurdy gurdist and was very sad when she left, but the two women (Fabi and Micha) who replaced her are just fantastic and revitalized the band which I thought would die after Annas departure. Man, I love this band. Could see them twice so far, 2012 at Summerbreeze Festival and 2019 at Wacken Open Air and plan to see them again in December in Wiesbaden (Germany) together with Amorphis.
Same here-- I am a big fan of Anna but both Fabi and Michalena are so good as well. I think that the fact that the female singer and hurdy-gurdy player are not the same actually gives them more songwriting flexibility.
They have a way of stirring the blood and bringing out so much emotion :)
I'm so happy they are finally back with new music. The pandemic gave us some really good albums, but I missed Eluveitie! Loved the collab with Faun, and this one blew me away! Fabi doing harsh vocals! Really looking forward to a new album! 🖤🤘🖖
I love that I'm not the only one affected by this kind of music in such a visceral way. Goosebumps still, and I've replayed it dozens of times. It's a rush I always crave

You have to check them out live! They are insaaaane. I was on alot of concerts (bands like Rammstein) and the eluveitie one still is one of the best concert experience i ever had.

Love this song. It feels like a continuation of the sort of black/death/folk sound of the previous album, which I loved. Also, I know Fabi can do harsh vocals, but it still catches me off guard when I hear it.
Eluveitie is the Celtic Name for Switzerland (Helvetia in latin) Aidus is also Celtic
Not exactly,
"Elueveite" is more of an Etruscan rendering of (h)elvetios - a Helvetian (The Helvetii being the tibe that resided in much of what we call Switzerland)
