I got a 2006 limited edition that's red and gold. This was the most helpful video I found so far on all of this. A lot of info. Hell yea

I've done all the ball joints on my 03. I used an Astro tool set and a breaker bar to get the ball joint movement started coming out. Once it starts moving I switch to a cordless impact. Before installing the new ball joint I use a cordless Dremel/Milwaukee with a small sanding wheel to polish the inside of the ball joint socket then apply a small amount of anti seize or bearing grease. Then I carefully start pressing in the new ball joint with the breaker bar. Once it appears to start straight, I switch to the cordless impact until seated. 291k miles now.

    Hello Nathan Rohrbough,
Loved your video. Just finished a full front suspension on my 2007 Saab 9-7x (aka Sabblzr, same GMT-360 platform).
I'm in Michigan and let me tell you it was much more difficult being in the rust belt. I had to removed the lower control arms and use a press, AND heat the collar for the lower ball-joints.
I had heard about people using a hammer and it was very interesting to watch you knock out the uppers out so easily....very fun to watch and see it actually work....but not in my area.
Keep posting. You offer a lot of detail for us DIY guys.

I have the same kit for removal, and in the manual(I know, we don't need no stinken' manual!), it tells you what parts to use for removal and installation. There is a socket/adapter(#10/16-Lower) that will go over the boot/bolt so you don't have to remove the boot.

Looks relatively rust free. Mine is up on blocks and I have to pull the driver's side axle shaft.
