      Nepal is bigger kingdom then sikkim. It spreads from uttarakhand to sikkim. We cannot compare. Cuz nepal has people similar to uttarakhand in West nepal, n east Nepal people r from diff race mongoloid. N maithili, tharu, koch too in terai. But sikkim n east Nepal were always same before tibbetan make sikkim n shah king took today's east Nepal from kirat. Natives of both east Nepal, sikkim r kirat, lepcha from thousand yrs. Sly natives of uttarakhand n west Nepal aways same khas arya. It's found in worldwide in border area be it burma n nagaland, mizoram Or belgium, nederland. Sikkim n east Nepal no exception. Just nepali language was nkt there in sikkim cuz it's developed in west Nepal. So donot give diluted comment.

      N other thing sikkim came to existence in 1642 n modern Nepal came in 1774. Before it 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙡 n 𝙨𝙞𝙠𝙠𝙞𝙢, 𝙙𝙖𝙧𝙟𝙚𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 were same 𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙗𝙪𝙬𝙖𝙣𝙖 from thousand yrs just like todays 𝙪𝙩𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙠𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙣 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙬𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙡 same 𝙠𝙖𝙩𝙮𝙪𝙧𝙞 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙙𝙤𝙢 once. Nepal was civilisationally connected to all side for respective people of east, west, south, north. It's not homogenous except common things came after shah king rule from 1700. Cuz nepalese of today did not fall from heaven to Nepal. They reached there crossing from all side which is todays india in three side n one side tibbet. Ok.

    If China had captured Sikkim, they would have moved the majority Han Chinese into Sikkim to colonize it. Like they have done in Tibet and Xinjiang where they are trying wipe out any traces of local indigenous culture, language and religion.
    Thankfully Indian governments are not like the Chinese - they let locals live in peace. People in the North East have lots of gripes with the people and government from Delhi and very rightfully so, but at least in This aspect, India does a good job.

    🥰 Great start 2 d Sikkim & NE trip, gorgeous scenery & beautiful people/culture. This is just d beginning of ur memorable/unique journey Frenchie & d more u go inside NE India, more DIVERSE it gets wrt ethnicities/cultures/traditions/languages/food/attire etc but one thing remains constant...humble/friendly natives, not 2 mention stunning natural beauty.
    After Sikkim, plz explore d whole North-East as much as u can on ur limited Visa specially Arunachal & Meghalaya, there's so much 2 see/experience in that unexplored paradise of a region.

  • @amitabhabhattacharya4051

    8:10 There is a beautiful lake at the top. Now we are following this track. There is a small foot path. And the people living around here are my people, from my village. You will have your food there and then rest for some time. And then we will go to Jor Pokhri (the lake). This place is not on the tourist map. This is the first time that I am taking outsiders. The French man and the man from Mumbai are the first outsiders/tourists going to the lake. He mentions three lakes at the top.

    *Sikkim was a independent kingdom until 1967. But then, China attacked Sikkim and tried to capture it like it did with Tibet. Then the king of Sikkim pleaded for help from the India Government. Next Indian Army entered Sikkim and valorously fought against Chinese army (1967 Battle of Nathula) and defeated Chinese Army finally. Then the kingdom of Sikkim got merged with India in accordance to the wish of the king of Sikkim and majority of people of Sikkim.*

      @abhisheksubba7691 Před rokem +1

      You've got it all wrong from every angle imaginable. I don't wanna go into the history but I can say with absolute certainty it wasn't the wish of the last Chogyal (King) to merge with India. He to his dying breath wanted Sikkim to be a sovereign state. When you pass a referendum with Indian tanks and soldiers pointing down your head the people have very little to do but say yes. BTW most of them thought they were voting to abolish the monarchy NOT abolish the monarchy and merge with India.

      @Nero6570 Před rokem +2

      @@abhisheksubba7691 India never forced sikkim to merge with India...it is the people who decided to merge with India..otherwise china would have eaten sikkim just like it ate tibet

    • @abhisheksubba7691
      @abhisheksubba7691 Před rokem +2

      @@Nero6570 Dude there was an agreement that India would take care of foreign policy and security but Sikkim remains a sovereign nation. This was the case since the Treaty of Titalia when India did not even exists. This is the same condition India has with Bhutan. Only difference is India did not gun down the guards of the Bhutanese king to force the referendum. I'm not arguing whether or not China would attack Sikkim. I'm saying Sikkim always wanted to be separate nation with its own identity but Indira Ghandi had other plans. Why do you think the Indian govt banned the bookd Crash and Grab Annexation of Sikkim? Do you know what Annexation means?
