My high school marching band i was in back in 1975 in Los Angeles, We played this song during half time. Blue every one away and got one long standing ovation. Bad ass song.
So sad when an accident wipes out an entire band or the nucleus of one (The Bar-Kays, Lynyrd Skynyrd and this one) This one made the summer of 1971 quite memorable.
Blood, Sweat and Tears on acid. At one point the singer just has to stop for a second and take a breath right in the middle of the verse. The best kind of funky mayhem.
What an incredible song from 1971. So well sung. The instruments are dazzling. The decending horn lines, the wah wah pedal and the drum riff at the end make it super!!!
I saw these guys in 71 or 72. Up till then it was the best concert I had seen. The next month I saw another underrated horn band. The Ides of March. Good times, good music.
Immediately after recording this song, the drummer was hospitalized after having been found to be, in fact, two people.
WITHOUT A DOUBT: One of the greatest bass lines backing an organ solo happens on this track!!!
This was a great tune. Blood Sweat and Tears, Ides of March, Chicago, and Chase all around the same time!

What a superb, jazziest brassy song from the summer of 1971 by a group just as very good as Chicago and Blood, Sweat & Tears! D. K. K.
We have this song for marching band and it is everyone's favorite.
This is the band Janis Joplin wanted.

A 70s anthem. What a tragic ending for this band.

There's no way ANYBODY can sit still listening to this classic. THE best 3 minutes of drums vocals and of course those jumpin' horns. RIP Bill Chase.

Powerful brass sound! I will ALWAYS love this band & their music. RIP Mr. Chase, who died in a plane crash.
Playing a Chase compilation for marching band this year. Some of the greatest music I never knew I needed
Man!! That Brass is kickin!!! Never heard this before!! This is great!!
Immense. Even more than immense. The most immensest musical track ever recorded. Thanks Bill.
I love this 1971 Chase hit, which peaked @ #24 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart!!!
A true inventive classic CHASE "Get It On" ~ purchased it on 45 vinyl in 1974.
