LG needs to get with 2022. If I could have waited to get a QD-OLED, I would have. Unfortunately, my old LCD died and The LG C2 was the best available to me. I love it and got a ludicrous deal on it, but seeing the vibrancy of the newer displays is a regret. Ah well, 3 more years!

Hey Q! I recently purchased an S90D, and I’m loving everything about it with the exception of gaming at 120hz. I’m using an Xbox series X and have been noticing motion jittering when I run 120hz. Did you experience anything similar with game mode on your S90D? I've gone through every setting multiple times and am wondering if it is just a shortcoming of Samsung motion processing; I’ve heard you praise LG’s motion processing, so this experience is making me consider switching to a G3 or G4 while I’m within my return window. If LG's motion is significantly better then I'm wondering if it would be worth the switch even though the QD OLED looks amazing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The G4 pretty much looked better the entire time, with greater HDR impact, higher fine detail, more color pop, better image processing. The G4 also won during CZcamsr ogcod's side-by-side comparisons with the Sony A95L and had better motion than the A95L.

I agree with every point you made. I'm just personally waiting for LG to make their own QD-OLED at some point, because I'm not interested in getting a TV without Dolby Vision like Samsung and I'm not interested in getting a TV with cheap looking stands like Sony with a premium price tag on it. If it takes them too long to produce one of their own, then I may lean towards Samsung. And I already know what your thoughts are on HDR, I just personally enjoy DV and I'd like to have a "complete" TV.

I bought the G3 a couple weeks ago, returned it like 15 days in. I felt like I was convincing myself to like it. I have one of the new QD-OLED monitors that just came out and they are absolutely stunning (went with the MSI 321URX cause its cheapest for the same panel). Whenever I would go from the monitor to the TV I could REALLY see the difference in the tech. Yeah the G3 got brighter, but man the colors are SO rich on QD-OLED, especially Gen 3.

Yeah, if you're comparing the G4 to the A95L, brighter colors is maybe the only argument left to buy the Sony. In darker areas the color with the G4 is way better than the A95L. The near black handling ist better on the G4, 3D pop is better, motion is better, price is better, more hardware an software features, 5 year warranty, Dolby Vision without issues, Dolby Vision precision detail (Sony does not support this), better gaming features. Taking a page from apple ipad we can have a tv with 2 panels in 1 to increase brightness. Or increase pixel density but keep brightness relatively the same to manage the increased heat from higher ppi. Still waiting for qd oleds 27 inch 4k monitor with gorilla glass and perfect blacks and higher 100% window brightness. Its doable now if they put 2 in 1 panels for the monitor.

Why you mad bro? Which TV manufacturer out there is using second generation MLA technology? I came across your channel when you wore the mask and were trolling, but it seems you are still trolling the community lol. Suggesting a cheap $400 TV as a good set, c’mon man, really. I get wanting to be the one who goes against the grain, but you have to give props to the LG G4, it’s a pretty good solid TV. I sold my Samsung S95B to upgrade to the LG G4 and so far I am very pleased. Can the Samsung S95B get brighter for some things, yeah, is the difference in brightness tremendously different from each other - No. the details of the LG G4 are far superior to my prior QD OLED Samsung. It seems you want some new technology that doesn’t even exist when you mention WOLED being somewhat ancient technology. I get the LG G4 is a premium price, but that is what you pay for a premium TV set. Keep doing your thing bro, not every reviewer is in the pockets of LG. I would consider the LG G4 to be an “S” year upgrade from the LG G3, in Apple terms when they used to do “S” year upgrades. Would love to see you compare the LG G4 head on vs. S95D and A95L and get your perspective.

Your also at risk of the PCB in the OCB failing, causing random black screens. You can get off your modding train and view things a bit more holistically.

Interesting that other reviewers who have the tv and reviewed it are getting stellar results even though on paper the Lg can’t compete with qd oled in the lab when it comes to color volume and color gamut etc. Digital trends and ogcod reviewers said the new chip is allowing the G4 to compete and surpass the qd oleds . Thank you, I'd been wondering lately exactly how that screen tech competition might really play out, so many thanks for that verdict. Q: so if it's a slam dunk with color, then what might you say is the best performing QD-OLED model in terms of motion? (Which is also important to me for movies from disc, I'm not a gamer). Please keep up the consistently good work!

It's all fine in theory but realistically a more vibrant picture does not make it better. Or are you watching everything in vivid mode? Yes, QD-OLED can produce better color accuracy based on the content but what percentage better? They also have better coverage of BT. 2020 color space but there is hardly any content and again WHAT percentage better that it makes your brain pop. I've seen WRGB Oled in their accurate mode produce a better image then a QD-Oled. There is more to a good image then just the panel technology.

TVs without Dolby Vision, without DTS for Disney+, retrograde operating system controlled by arrows, with no guarantee of upgrades to 4 new versions, and the person has the nerve to make a video like that, while LG sells a complete ecosystem, at Samsung, you need to add extra devices to perform functions that should already be included in a so-called Smart TV, it seems like another disposable product that needs to be purchased every year.

Seeing how that QD-OLED very much existed side by side with the G3, why the change of heart I ask? Content for the sake of content. Seeing how the G4 is basically a G3 with many of its quirks ironed out, I expect to hear a glowing G4 review from you when you do finally manage to get your hands on one.

People buy LG more for the better reliability of the OLED panel and the webOS operating system which is much more complete natively than any other OS, and now even better with the built-in Chromecast, Samsung only had the advantage of delivering the best OLED panel technology, but it was dethroned with Apple's Tandem OLED which delivers 1000 nits full screen, which is insane.

QD Led (Although they are great)
    No 3d Depth,
SDR upscaling is bad compared to LG and brightness is low in SDR
    PS5 Blackout, connection issues,
More prone to Burn in Risk (that's why it only comes with a 1-year warranty, unlike 3 3-year warranty from LG).
    Over-Saturated Coors Out of Box
Sports streaming looks shit on QD-LED
    No Dolby Vision, No DTS.

Yeah but QD OLED has a major disadvantage, they brighten up the black levels when ambient light is "too much". Your black gets grey and therefore compromises the best selling point of OLED, perfect black levels. Of course you can use QD OLEDs in a very darken room but this is not the way most people use their TVs. For a cineatic purist it's another story though.
Those quantum dots not only get excited by the blue OLED "backplane" but also by the light coming from the front in form of ambient light. That is the reason why they get grey-ish. Wonder why no one is talking about that;) So no, for me QD OLED is inferior to LGs WOLED even with it's not so colorful colors. Still way better than any LCD.
