    Hi. I upgraded all of my exterior bulbs to L.E.D.'s and I'm getting all the expected bulb out faults at the dash. I was led to understand that as an alternative to having multiple resistors for every replaced bulb to remedy this, I could replace a specific turn indicator relay (not the emergency flasher switch/button/relay) instead. Through all of my searching both my car and the web, I am unable to locate any actual information on a separate relay for the turn signals separate from the emergency flasher switch, yet parts stores appear to sell them. I have a 2008 A4/B7 Quattro S-Line sedan (American). I need to know is there in fact a separate relay from the emergency flashers for the turn indicator lights? My turn signals hyper flash due to the L.E.D.'s, yet my hazards do not, and function as normal.

    I had an issue where my radio would STAY ON even after removing the key from the ignition.
    This ended up draining the battery completely dead. I wasn't sure what to do since I'm not much
    of a car guy so I got on google and did some searches. At first I found people saying this issue is
    caused by a faulty ignition switch. After more research however I heard others saying their radio
    was the issue and once replacing their factory radio everything was fixed. With me already wanting
    to upgrade the factory radio I did just that. However, I couldn't take it to the audio shop to have it
    installed because to my surprise trying to get my car jump started didn't work. At that point I'm
    assuming dead battery. I then go and purchase a new battery and install it but NOW the key fob is
    no longer programmed with the car. I can't unlock/lock the car with the key fob anymore. Of course
    I did some more research on that and no one seemed to be on the same page as far as the for sure
    answer on how to re-program our key fobs with our car. These were the steps that I tried several
    times without any luck.
    -Press and hold unlock button on key fob.
    -Put key in door and lock the door. (unlock button still pressed)
    -Then unlock the door with key (unlock button still pressed and flashing)
    -Then get into the car (unlock button still pressed and flashing)
    -Put key in ignition and turn to step 2/accessories (unlock button still pressed and flashing)
    -Wait 5 seconds (unlock button still pressed and flashing)
    -Turn key back to 1 and remove from ignition
    -Release the unlock button on fob that was held down this entire process.
    -Press unlock/lock and key should be programmed.
    This didn't work for me at all. I even tried doing this with my secondary key fob. These fobs both flash
    so the batteries seem to be working perfectly fine in them.
    With that said. This whole issue started with the radio staying on and continuing the play and it killed
    my battery. After replacing the battery though I noticed something odd. Despite having a brand new
    battery in the car some things weren't working that I'd expect to work just fine with a new battery.
    -Horn
    -Power Windows
    -Blank screen (the digital screen in dash that shows info such as "PUT FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL TO START" etc.
    -Nothing happens when turning key.
    -Radio stays on and continues to drain battery.
    However, the dome lights work fine, the head lights shine bright, the electric seats work fine and the radio
    come on (and unfortunately continues to stay on still). I just thought it was weird that the horn and power
    windows aren't working with a brand new battery. This lead me to believe that perhaps my Anti Theft System
    thinks that I'm not using the actual key for the car. Basically treating me like I'm trying to steal my own car.
    Because I do know the horn/windows and starting the vehicle are ALL tied into the Anti Theft System correct?
    I'm almost wondering if I can simply get this damn key fob programmed again that MAYBE the car will finally
    start and everything will be back to normal? I obviously have no idea what to even do next.

      I tried about 10 different bits of advice from online about how to reprogram the remote key fob back to the car after disconnecting and reconnecting the battery. I found this method by pure luck, trial and error!... Use the key to open the driver's door, then just put the key in the ignition and turn all the electrics on, then hammer the open and lock buttons alternately a few times (I just hammer them about ten times really fast). After a few presses you'll hear the central locking start to kick in on the next press after it's worked. Works every single time for me. I've done it a LOT this year chasing a battery/electric drain fault so I have disconnected and reconnexted the battery many times (Audi a4 b6 2004). Good luck.

    I have a 2006 S4 sedan that is currently having an issue. I went on vacation a few weeks ago, I recently changed the car battery out for a brand new one and everything worked well. Before the vacation however, I did notice a few warnings that may've led to the current conundrum. I was getting the faulty rear brake lights but the lights worked with no issue. When I came back from vacation, about three weeks later, I unlocked the car with the physical key because the key fob batteries were dead. The alarm started. I closed the door and locked it with the key and unlocked it again..The alarm kept on. I tried to start the car, but it would not turn over.. There were no noises, just check engine and a few other lights flashing and dying slowly as the battery was sapped by the Alarm. Eventually, I took the battery out. It has been out since..about three weeks. Have you ever had a case like this?

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 6 lety +1

      Hey there! Yes, this is very common. You probably have one rear sensor out and that can stop them all working.
      The first thing to try is whilst someone has the car in reverse gear for you put your ear to each sensor. If it is working you should hear it clicking and so find the dead one easily that way.
      Otherwise you can scan the car with Vag Com and that will point to the faulty one as well.
      Depending upon your model and options etc you may have to remove the rear bumper to replace it, which is quite an involved job.
      Best of luck!

The first stage would be to lift the carpets back (ideally remove the two front seats) and get it all dried up as best you can, and check the comfort control ECU box to see if water has gotten it. That will definitely point you in the right direction to get you started. Best of luck!

    I am currently experiencing zero voltage to the car with a good battery. No power to anything whatsoever. Is this where the red wire from the battery goes to check for problems?? I've got a feeling no power is getting to the entire fuse relay system? A4 B7 2.0t

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 3 lety +1

      Not good! Start by checking the wiring, including the ground wire connections to make sure there is no corrosion and everything looks ok. Test the battery again with a multimeter to ensure it is holding power (not shorted) and putting out 12v. Then your on to fuses. The positive red cable splits into two from the battery usually, one goes direct to the alternator. Be sure to check that the black cable is connected properly at the car side as well as that is required alongside positive to work (i.e. positive on its own will not work). Best of luck! Please be sure to come back and share your experiences for others here with similar issues.

      Mario Drempetić hello! I sold my car like a year ago! But several garages said the same thing...
      There was a puls on all switches.. when they flick them with the power on... but that was it... after when i sold the car the garage owner still didnt fixt it... they put a new (forgot the name) case what is laying underneath the seat! But that didnt work out eighter.. so thats all i know about it

    I thought you were going to say what each relay was for.... 🤷🏻‍♂️

    • @TotalTechnik
      @TotalTechnik  Před 3 lety +2

      No, this video is just for the location. We are planning a full function overview, but it gets a little complex as there are variations for certain years and options etc. But hopefully in the future!
