Who’s listening this band in 2024?
Hell yea!!!
Gotta stop got too much to do
Me!!!!
This whole album was killer. I rock out to Skid Row all the time!
Us, my family and I , 🤘😊👍✌️
Slave to the Grind is the first heavy metal album to chart at number one on the Billboard 200. And not just chart, but debut at number 1. In a time when there wasn't an internet full of information and sharing, no social media, no spotify or apple music, this album sold 134,000 copies in its first week. Freakin' amazing.
1983 reminds you that Quiet Riot's Metal Health álbum had already achieved number one on the Billboard 200 Top Albums
@@Tommyhedland also, this album does seriously rock, but no one in their right mind would consider this album heavy metal
@@devious187 True
Appetite for Destruction went straight in at number 1 on the billboard 100...i've never heard of the billboard 200. What in the hell is the billboard 200?
@@devious187 Because you don't have a clue about what heavy metal is...
Who's listening this master piece in 2021?
I do! Such a good song. You see, it was "in" when I was 12, but the fact that people still listen to it in 2021 says something... it was not just an actual trend but really good and sensible music.
So good

Sebastian Bach has such a killer vocal range. From the soaring high notes in _Youth Gone Wild,_ to the reserved, calmer ones in _18 & Life,_ and the gritty James Hetfield-like growling in this song; the man can do it all.
One of the best singers of all time in Rock and Metal period.

Sebastian Bach has the best vocals ever.
Slave to the Grind was definitely their best record. Sebastians vocals were incredible!
By then they were hanging around with the likes of Megadeth and Pantera and it clearly showed on the album.
Nobody touches his vocal range!
@@jeffstearman8685 Not to shit on Sebastian, but there are plenty of them.
Saw them with Pantera actually. CBFH

Most underrated band of all time 🖤. Who's listening to this damn great song in 2024?

Skid rocks. Jesus saves sinners
Proof that Rob Affuso is one UNDERRATED drummer!
Yea pity hes hitting the drums with glam rock actions...
Their first 2 albums are still amazing to this day...
I even love their 3rd album "Subhuman Race"

My favorite is Subhuman Race. Every song was amazing. It just sucks that it was the last album with Sebastian.
Still one of the best metal tracks ever.
Skid rocks! Jesus saves sinners! God bless you
Drummer has to be the fittest guy on the planet after tour ends. 🤘🏼
Back then when Skid Row was Skid Row
Absolutely, they kicked ass.
👍👍👍
Back when Skid Row was Megadeth...
That's right. Somebody asked me was they glam... LOL does this sound like glam dummy!
the first concert i ever went to was skid row opening for guns n roses. their the reason i became a singer- literally.
i was sad when baz was kicked out, but when ZP joined the band, i knew withoutn a doubt that they'd gained some of their heart back. I saw them again last month and holy SHIT can the dude bring it.
Sebastian was such a beautiful man back in his hey day!!!
The best Skid row singer
I typically liked heavier stuff in the 80s, but Skid Row was absolutely awesome. Their first two records are epic classics. And yes I liked their ballads, which were generally more intelligent than the glamsters, but nothing can beat this song here, just ass kicking heavy metal. A band full of excellent musicians, Rachel is a really underrated bass player.
Absolutely . Skid Row is def one of the “glammier” style bands that can hang with the heavier shit . It’s in my collection along with MegadetH/anthrax/MetallicA. I also like some Dio and old old Crue . But they can def hang .

@@masonholdren392 I love hearing that the younger generations still appreciate decent music!
@@Jojo-sx5ec I'm 13 and I love skid row
I remember back when this came out, my friends and I were all like, "Damn, Skid Row got a lot heavier."
True. I heard this on the radio and was surprised to learn it was Skid Row.
My friends said,”YOU ARE The PRIMATE THAT MATTERS!
I remember people saying have you heard the new skid Row and I was like I don't listen to that bleep crap and then I heard someone playing it and I was like that's skid Row? The same one from a few years ago? 😆 They definitely stepped their game up
Finally, a better video quality...
Such a ballsy move for those guys to follow up their smash hit album with a record that was about 1000 times heavier. So many other hard rock bands of that era would (and did) steer hard into the power ballads and party songs.
Heavier and better!
I'm 54 okay letting you know okay
When I first heard this on the radio, I had zero idea it was Skid Row, until Bas kicked in with the line "The noose gets tighter around my throat". I think I spit my drink out and said "Since when did Skid Row go speed metal???" But I love the whole album, it's a thing of beauty.
2023 am 52 still love this master piece anyone else....
How can anyone say this song isn't the best ever made by Skid Row and one of the top rock songs of all time? I wish this band wrote more songs like this, but such is life. It's 2024 and I'm still rocking out to this song. I hope this type of music hasn't vanished forever man. Peace out.
This was the era I grew up in.... couldn't be happier
Me too I loved metal.
Lucky you
That makes two of us.
This was the era where I refused to grow up 🤣
@@jamokeshake9961 yup!
one of the few band that grunge couldn't kill
Skid row was definitely a victim of Grunge
@Adam Clark Grunge didn't kill anything. Every decade ushers in something new. That's the way it has always worked. If Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video had debuted on Headbanger's Ball in 1987, it would have tanked.
Skid Row killed them self’s when they kicked Sebastian Bach
grunge did not kill anythig, glam metal killed itself, by the simple expiration of the decade
Headbanger Metal And what about heavy/thrash metal bands? A lot of bands split up in the 90’s and a big part of them changed their style
Sebastian Bach always melt my heart
i'm addicted to this guy's hair
Best hair on planet Earth
Melts other parts of me...
DEFINITELY one of Skid Row's BEST of all time. I remember my brother taping this off MTV when I was a kid and I was mesmerised
I wish Skid Row members swallow their pride and bring Bach back someday. Classic line-up will bring more respect and cash to them
So true L
Oh, fuck you.
Cash????...lol
i'll say this, if there was ever a person to hit baz's notes, it's ZP. i saw them last year and they fuckin rocked.
Yeah but when the singer have those shinny gold hairs this is concidered as Hair metal, even if they were playing post black emo noise grind
If this album would of came out 2 years earlier, Skid Row would of been universally legendary. Their best album.
This was not just hair metal......this IS metal
Nah just metal here. That 1st one was glam though. I really got into them when this album came out and then they were gone.

One of my favourites from Skid Row!
Lots of Motorhead on this one. Especially the chorus. So damn good.
Ace of Spades
Wow I never heard that. This whole song is very Motorhead, especially the drums and the rhythm guitars.
@@TranzparentMethods same, reminds me of 1916 or Another Perfect Day almost
Definitely dude, even that guitar solo screams Motörhead. Forgot how great this track is.
I wouldn’t say the chorus is Motörhead but I’d definitely agree that the intro is
30 years ago I didn't appreciate this. Now, I love it.
Man, I miss these days.
One of the heaviest metal songs to come out of the 90's from a band that really doesn't play heavy metal, I love it!
I distinctly remember hearing this for the first time. We always considered them as hard rock but this song being much heavier than their normal sound.
This song is speed metal. Hard rock is a general term for all music of rock what is hard. Heavy metal, glam metal, grunge, blues rock is all hard rock.
@@marlonjosedocarmo1900the deciding factor for me on whether a song, album or band is either hard rock or heavy metal is demeanor and presentation. If a band has an upbeat appearance, sings about happy things that’s more rock n roll, whereas Metal bands are all about intensity, the darker side of life. There are of course bands that do both and I tip my hat to them
you haven't listened to the Subhuman Race album then. That shit is as heavy metal as it gets, but more Pantera-heavy than "classic heavy metal" a la Iron Maiden, Judas Priest. And tbh, Slave To The Grind album had some retarded heavy songs - The Threat, Mudkicker were absolute smashers. Skid Row's Mudkicker = Metallica's Sad But True if we're talking girth lol
Best pure METAL album EVER......bass lines, drums, searing guitar and SB at his best beginning to end

This is was and always will be the REAL Skid Row! There will never be another great and fantastic album from this band like this one period!
This was one of the best second albums any band has ever released. Most bands that had a great debut album drop the ball laughably with their second album. Not these guys. If Skid Row got their start today with the same tunes they put on Slave to the Grind, they'd still make it big. Its too bad they couldn't keep their shit together.
Way better. Axl Rose is a dick head
I am the only PRIMATE THAT MATTERS!
I love the heavy sound of this song. I remember buying the cassette tape when it came out & rocked out to it. I was in middle school & was a metalhead not too many my age were listening to hard rock & metal at that time
Same with me. I bought this on cassette in 92' when I was 13 and I was the only one in my age group that loved this kind of music.
I was 16 in 91 ...saw them w GnR at the STL riot. No wonder we are Hellraisers
I had the cassette too! Monsters of Rock 1992 was the first time I saw them. For a long time I was the only girl at the front of Slayer gigs and definitely the only Greb in school 😅
I was converted to metal in seventh grade. But he made me a mixtape, I never looked back lol
Tbh. He is the Singer. There are a thousand backing bands. Pfttttt
Being a teen in the 80s , it was friggin awesome !
Those guitar riffs - sick!! 🤘🖤
The reason that this lp is so heavy is that they were on tour with PANTERA!
Happy Birthday Sebastian Bach

Para mí, una de las canciones de Heavy Metal, con mejor ritmo, jamás compuestas. Súper tema.
It doesn’t get better than this.
This never gets old.
One of just a handful of albums I can listen from 1st song to last song without even thinking about skipping a track! So good!!
Exactly me too Slave to the grind was indeed too underrated poor them
The drums and guitar riffs in this song are awesome
What a great time to be alive with this generation of music... just love the hair bands from my life growing up in the 80s.
Agreed. It was just an awesome decade to be a teenager
The guy consistently has one of the best attitudes in Rock. ...I appreciate a guy like that who laughs at himself and others that much. Well done.
The guitar work in this song is killer!

Sebastian is one of the best voices in rock history
One of my favorites from Skid Row I loved this band in my late teens early twenties. It’s just not Skid Row without Sebastian Bach to me.
YES! I remember playing this CD all the time and yes this was heavier than the first one and Skid Row to me without Sebastian just isn't the same .He's too damn hard to replace and in my opinion is one of the top 5 vocalist in Rock/Metal and as the song Mudkicker goes they didn't fuck around NO! on this one.
I remember playing this CD and getting a good hammering of my parents for always playing Get the Fuck out. Steve 👍
This is when they FN rocked.

Definitely one of those tracks where the Pantera influence is seen, in fact in 1991 they went on tour together.
My thoughts exactly🤘🏾🤘🏾
Riffs from Pantera's Walk
You do realize this came out before "Vulgar Display of Power". In my opinion Dime's riffs on CFH were very Priest, albeit a lot more groove.
Saw em at the STL riot on July 2 1991....w GnR
There is no Pantera influence here. Vulgar came out after this and that’s when Pantera broke.
One of the best singers ever. Awesome album. Steve 👍
