Having been on farms with peacocks, the peacock is in no danger! Peacocks are excellent fliers, and fly away when threatened, and this bird has all it flight feathers and could fly away fine! I've also seen peacocks kick hard with their spurs and do real damage, and this one shows no aggression towards the kitty, they are clearly used to each other. The strutting and showing is probably because it hears the cries of others, such as male and female peacocks, and if its breeding season they strut like this non-stop, even when no one is around they can see! So the bird and cat appear safe and fine, no aggression or fear shown by either!
@tormentedzombieowl: I just thought maybe the stamping was a sign of agitation. I also wonder if the kitten grabbing the feather hurts the peacock 🦚 like having one's hair yanked
Peacocks spread their 'fan' for a couple of reasons. 1) to attract a mate, 2) to show dominance and 3) defensive. The way this peacock is acting, the fan raised, the tail fathers twitching, etc, he's showing dominance. He's not afraid or being defensive. So don't worry about it.
Boy, that is one confused peacock. Momma cat doesn't look happy that he's displaying for her. But hey, free babysitter! We used to go to the local zoo and pick up shed feathers for twenty five cents a pop for our cats to play with. They never lasted very long, so Henry has a definite bedraggled look in his future.
Probably because it's older. Cats are far less temperamental and more subdued than kittens. I doubt a peacock would've been responsible for that, and between the two of them, I can't imagine a peacock would win
A bird that speaks cat. I've always found it funny that peacocks meow and cheetahs chirp. A bird meows, a cat chirps. Something's clearly wrong here! XD
That kitten isn't terrorizing the peacock by any means but it's certainly annoying it and the peacock is being unusually patient for its species; they're pretty aggressive. It's probably focused on a peahen it can either smell or hear and is doing its best to keep up its presentation in spite of the kitten. That kitten is lucky the peacock is so docile, it could hurt it if it really wanted to.
Everyone flipping their shit about the peacock "being mistreated": 1) Male peacocks unveil their tail feathers in this manner when trying to attract a mate; it's NOT a defense mechanism to "intimidate". 2) Peacocks are not flightless birds -- if he was distressed enough, he could've flown away. 3) Peacocks are known to be aggressive, much like geese and swans -- if he couldn't fly for some reason (i.e. clipped wings), he would've attacked the kitten easily and scared it away. Conclusion: the peacock is not afraid or intimidated, but more likely either a) tolerating the kittens' existence, or b) actually playing with the kitten. Either way, it's not abuse. Unless you OWN or HAVE OWNED a peacock, or worked with them, I suggest shoving it.
Except: There's no female peacock anywhere near it. he's clearly HORRIFIED of being attack by it's natural predators: cats. Peacocks are BIRDS. He's trying to fight for his life! He can't escape from the gated porch, he's clearly trying. I'm very worried of all these teenagers who show signs of psychopats. psychopats can not see the suffering of others, wheter they are humans or animals, especially animals. They just ignore it, or try to make it "logic". Anyone who says this peacock isn't terrified, is a psychopath!
Okay, people are trying to say that the peacock is stressed? He doesn't seem to be. In fact, he seems to be letting the kitten play. I think if he didn't like the kitten or was feeling stressed, he would have made it known to the kitten.
The kitten's like, "I don't know what this is, but I'm gonna play with it anyway! He's got toys sticking out of him! X3" And the peacock is like,"What the f*** are these things! Get them away from me! DX"
Am I the only one who noticed that this peacock spends a lot of time on this deck by the amount of bird droppings? That peacock is there because he wants to be. If he didn't, he would just hop up to the top of the rail. We had peafowl on our farm for years and this one is not scared. When scared, they fly.
Haven't seen anything quite like this before. Interestingly cute, amusing and validation enough that there's more than enough to be amazed with in life. Thanks for sharing. Technology is amazing. I keep getting amazed with a little device in my hands without physically experiencing much. Yet I can imagine well.
The peacock is obviously not happy with the kitten, but no one is getting hurt! It's just a silly kitten annoying his peacock friend by batting at his plume, no harm done!
Das a bootiful male peacock right there. I mean, how does one simply raise or own these? I understand people adopt wolves, foxes, fennec foxes, sugar gliders, snakes, and wild cats. But how this beautiful bird of nature?!
I read all these comments & can't believe how people over react. The Peacock is fine & so is the kitten. Lighten up!!! Animals live together & get along! Jeezus H Jehoshaphat!
(Someone uploads an animal video) (CZcams public) "Finally! Here's my opportunity to shout abuse! It must be because I was never lucky or responsible enough to own such animals! Bonus points if I 1) call the owner names 2) suggest that I actually could care for the animals better 3) don't know shit about these creatures and make it clear in my comment that I don't 4) automatically assume that abuse has occurred in the past based on subtle clues in the video that could point to ANYTHING" Anyway, cute animals! Such beautiful and happy creatures.
kungfubellydancer Hahaha, I could copy and paste this on basically every animal video ever to save time. Funny thing is that people who have owned lots of animals are far more careful to scream abuse because we have actual experience to base opinions on.
We have a male peacock, Rad, that is an education bird ( #RadthePeacock ). We take Rad to schools to meet kids so they can pet a peacock, and his bestie and travel companion is our rescue kitten, Athena ( #AthenatheKitten) ...they are pals and hang out together all day at our rescue ranch ( #PixieDustRanch ).
Peacock: Go away kid I’m trying to be fabulous.
Why does that sound like something Pewdiepie would say? 0.o
Pfft
the fact that you had to copy a comment from someone on a tumblr post is a bit sad, yes?
nevfangiel right
Lol - caught!
Peacock: "Hey cat! Bug off! You're ruining my presentation!"
Kitten: "Oooooh, new feather toy!"
DreamDancer82 Lol!

"Hehe, you are funny. You have cat toys all over you and you smell like food."
you can't really blame the kitten, henry's tail is made entirely of cat toys

Nah,just expected. Still laughed tho.
Side effects of catnip include: Disco turkey hallucinations.
That's funny!
This is flat out adorable. Its like the peacock is so used to the kitten that it doesnt even care, meanwhile to the kitten the peacock is a big toy :D
Peacock: DO. NOT. WANT.
kitten: yay! A new toy!
Don't annoy Henry while he's trying to attract a hot peahen lady! :P

Wtf does that even mean? You're just making stuff up.
"You're throwing off my groove, cat!!!"

That kitten is precious, but ooooh. That poor peacock!!! He must've been beyond annoyed!!
That peacock has the patience of a saint.
elektraeriseros cute
Doesn't Look Like Henry the Peacock is very impressed with the kitten's antics, But the Kitten sure looks like he's having fun.

The bunch of cute kitties messing up with India's national bird peacock
anybody notice that the cat with one ear is NOT messing with the peacock ? Coincidence ? I think not .
Indeed. I'm sure the little ones will learned their boundaries soon enough and respect Henry's space when he requires it.
9 lives but only 2 ears
the cat with one ear is also not a curious kitten.
Probably because it's older. Cats are far less temperamental and more subdued than kittens. I doubt a peacock would've been responsible for that, and between the two of them, I can't imagine a peacock would win
Nathan Davis Not anymore, at least.

Asbjorn Tyrson Exactly! Surprisingly some people don't know peacocks can fly. We have many peacocks in the city of Arcadia, Ca.
@@TheLosangelesgirl Yeah, a lot of people think they're flightless but they're not.

1974Coconut Psychopats? Fighting for his life? You are blowing this way out of proportion.
Have you ever had a kitten? If so, do you not remember how sharp their claws are???? So, the poor bird s been scratched god knows for how long!!!
